This is a mega fantastic book! We enjoyed the story because it was funny and interesting. We thought the structure was great and it was some of our favourite! We loved the characters because they worked together. We would highly recommend this to a wide range of ages.

We loved this

This was our first experience of Jeremy Strong and we really enjoyed it. Martin Clunes is a perfect choice for the narration.

The story has everything children need for a good contemporary story. If I were writing a newspaper review I would say "riotous", but it is funny, very funny in places.

This is one my son keeps coming back to and they do say that the proof of the pudding is in the tasting :-)

My kids love Jeremy Strong's storys of fun and may-hem, and there usually a few gags for Mum & Dad to chuckle at too.

Martin Clunes does a great job of 'telling' (not just reading) the story.

great for kids

As a volunteer helping with children in Kindergarden classes I find that Mark Huff's books are fun for them and include life lessons in a way that they have no trouble understanding. It also reminds children that no matter where we live, our ethnicity or our culture, we see the the things that children have in common.. The importance of family appears to be the main theme in both of Mark Huff's books. What great way to remind children of that.

An unusual and intriguing book.

I have to make a confession right up front here. Sally Prue, the writer of this book is a friend of mine and you can of course take that into account. I am biased,naturally, in her favour and in favour of her books, but that's NOT because I'm her friend. It's because she's really a most extraordinary writer who is NOT LIKE ANYONE ELSE AT ALL. She won a major award with her first novel, COLD TOM, but since then, has never really found the thousands of readers I think she deserved to. It's because her books are hard to categorise and hard to market but I hope that here in the wide open spaces of KINDLE, Sally might find zillions of new fans.

This particular book is one of my favourites. It has characters you can engage with, a very exciting plot and a weird, skewed, quasi-historical setting and plenty that is eccentric and marvellous and off the wall. Do give this writer a try and see if you think I'm right to have such a high opinion of her work.
