    Publisher's Summary:
On one evening in Washington, DC, several high-ranking members of government disappear in a mass kidnapping. Among the kidnapped is Nick Rendel, a computer software coding expert in charge of drone programming and strategy. He is the victim with the most dangerous knowledge, including confidential passwords and codes that are used to program the drones. If revealed, his kidnappers could reprogram the drones to strike targets within the United States.
Jon Smith and the Covert One team begin a worldwide search to recover the officials, but as the first kidnapping victims are rescued, they show disturbing signs of brainwashing or mind-altering drugs. Smith's investigation leads him to Fort Detrick, where a researcher, Dr. Laura Taylor, had been attempting to create a drug to wipe memory from soldiers suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome. But Dr. Taylor's research was suspended almost a year ago, when she was placed in a mental institution. Now, if Smith doesn't figure out the brainwashing drug, and track down the kidnapped Nick Rendel, the kidnappers will soon have the power to carry out drone strikes anywhere in the world....

    Well read
Jeff Woodman, the reader, has great command of voices. great story with hints of other plot lines.
    Covert1 continues
Great continuation of the series must read!
It is so nice to see the characters continue, carried on by new authors.
    Love Covert One books.
Its good to have a covert one book back in the fold. I have missed them and Jamie Freveletti does a great job if continuing the tradition.
    Riveting
I loved this book. Once I started listening to it I continued listening until I finished it!
    Excellent Story, Great Performance
If you could sum up Robert Ludlum's The Geneva Strategy in three words, what would they be?
    Complex, exciting, entertaining.
What did you like best about this story?
There are many facets to the story that are very current, and a few new characters that play interesting roles in the story. I also like the fact that the author has not taken the easy way out by creating a romance between John and Randy.
What does Jeff Woodman bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
Mr. Woodman is outstanding with voices and accents. He has dramatic ability and timing that are perfect for this type of story. There is one character I actually began to hate, and the sound of his voice made me want something bad to happen to him. That is the talent of this narrator.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
A tag line would do a disservice to a complicated story.
    Any additional comments?
    No.

    Publisher's Summary:
Uncommon valor in the line of duty and unconditional devotion in the name of love are the salient qualities of the daring men and women who risk it all in the heart-pounding thrillers of New York Times best-selling author Suzanne Brockmann. Crafted with precision and power, her characters come alive with a depth of emotion few writers have achieved. Now, with Breaking Point, Brockmann breaks even further through the pack and delivers a stunning payload.
As commander of the nation's most elite FBI counterterrorism unit, agent Max Bhagat leads by hard-driving example: pushing himself to the limit and beyond, taking no excuses, and putting absolutely nothing ahead of his work. That includes his deep feelings for Gina Vitagliano, the woman who won his admiration and his heart with her courage under fire. But when the shocking news reaches him that Gina has been killed in a terrorist bombing, nothing can keep Max from making a full investigation - and retribution - his top priority.
At the scene of the attack, however, Max gets an even bigger shock. Gina is still very much alive - but facing a fate even worse than death. Along with Molly Anderson, a fellow overseas relief worker, Gina has fallen into the hands of a killer who is bent on using both women to bait a deadly trap. His quarry? Grady Morant, a.k.a. "Jones", a notorious ex - Special Forces operative turned smuggler who made some very deadly enemies in the jungles of Southeast Asia... and has been running ever since. But with Molly's life on the line, Jones is willing to forfeit his own to save the woman he loves.
Together with Max's top agent Jules Cassidy as their only backup, the unlikely allies plunge into a global hot zone of violence and corruption to make a deal with the devil. Not even Jones knows which ghosts from his past want him dead. But there's one thing he's sure of: there's very little his bloodthirsty enemies aren't willing to do.

    Breaking Point
Suzanne Brockmann is a wonderful storyteller that creates characters who live on in the imagination. The narrators do such an excellent job of bringing those characters to life.
    Great!
This was a great ending to the Max/Gina and Grady/Molly's stories. The beginning was a little weird with the time hopping, but overall it was a great read, an excellent addition to the Troubleshooters series.
    Breaking Point
The story was good overall but I didnt like the time jumps at all. Idk how else the author could have told the story, but I still didnt like it. It was rather dizzy-ing, jumping around, back & forth. But thats just my opinion. It might not bother anyone else. Plus Max was a bit of a d*ck throughout the whole series, much less in this story. I have no idea why Gina loved him. The author didnt focus very much on his redemption, imo. I wouldve liked it if Max had softened a bit more, earlier in the story, rather than waiting till the last chapters. YMMV.
    Love the Toubleshooters.
I love the Troubleshooters and Suzanne Brockmann. I have my favorite characters and story lines for sure and this is definitely one of them.
    The Good, Bad & Ugly
The Good: Suzanne Brockmann demonstrates a good sense of humor, which adds some lightness to help balance out some of the graphic violence.

Lexi Carmichael: helping geeks everywhere get some. Okay, so it's not exactly as it seems, but that's what's happening on the dating reality show called Geeks Get Some that I, geek extraordinaire Lexi Carmichael, have been called to work on. Not that I'm a fan of reality shows (I can barely deal with my own reality). Still, I've been sent to Hollywood to find a hacker who's screwing with the results of the show's online voting system. So what happens when I get there? Well, the producers convince me to continue my investigation from the inside. And what should be an easy hunt for the hacker turns ugly when he sets his sights on me. Add to that a studio obsessed with ratings, a bunch of nerdy contestants, and my own confusing love life, and unraveling this mystery might make me a star... or get me killed. Meet Lexi for the very first time in No One Lives Twice!
    Members Reviews:
    Lexi Grows Up
What did you love best about No Biz like Showbiz?
I loved that Lexi finally seems to come into her own. She and Slash begin a relationship of which I am glad because he is a terrific character. He is strong and loyal and always backs her up. She gets out of her comfort zone and tries different things. Always finds the hacker and treats him/her to her wrath which is usually fair.
What other book might you compare No Biz like Showbiz to and why?
Can't help but compare Lexi to Stephanie Plum and Slash to Ranger in that series but only in the character development. I love both series and will continue to read both. Lexi is smarter than Stephanie in that Lexi is a geek and knows all the electronics stuff. I love electronics.
What does Kristin Watson Heintz bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
She has the voice to convey Lexi's innocence and her smarts. sometimes her voice annoys me but that is usually when the dialog is annoying such as the over use of 'Jeez' and some other juvenile words but you must remember that Lexi and her geeks are older in age but not so old emotionally so that explains it. But over all Ms. Heintz is terrific.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me laugh out loud in parts but no crying.
    Any additional comments?
Love, love these books. Keep them coming in audible. The Book 5 is NOT in audible. I would have bought it.
    Showbiz is No!
    Any additional comments?
Occasionally I enjoy a funny series. I work outside a great deal and books with twist and turns become an arduous undertaking. Julie Moffett's series has provided a few "laugh out loud" moments. However, No Biz Like Showbiz, is not a book I would recommend.
I do not like the characters. I do not like the development of the story line. I knew very quickly where the story was going.
Writing books, writing a series of successful books is undoubtedly difficult to do. I am respectful of the author. Nevertheless, I would skip this one. Your listening library will thank you.
Love this series! Lexi and slash crack me up! Perfect books for a light read with lots of humor
    Surprisingly good
I was skeptical at first because there were a lot of negative reviews and encouragement to skip this book. In this one she sets out on her own and there was less interaction with the supporting characters we've met along the way.

    Genres: Mysteries & Thrillers, Espionage
    Publisher's Summary:
A post-9/11 literary spy thriller from the National Book Award-winning author of Tree of Smoke.
Roland Nair calls himself Scandinavian, but travels on a U.S. passport. After 10 years' absence, he returns to Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone, to reunite with his friend Michael Adriko. They once made a lot of money here during the country's civil war, and, curious to see whether good luck will strike twice in the same place, Nair allows himself to be drawn back to a region he considers hopeless.
Adriko is an African who styles himself a soldier of fortune and who claims to have served, at various times, the Ghanaian army, the Kuwaiti Emiri Guard, and the American Green Berets. He's probably broke now, but he remains, at 36, as stirred by his own doubtful schemes as he was a decade ago.
Although Nair believes some kind of money-making plan lies at the back of it all, Adriko's stated reason for inviting his friend to Freetown is for Nair to meet Adriko's fiancée, a grad student girl named Davidia from Colorado. Together the three set out to visit Adriko's clan in the Uganda-Congo borderland - but each of these travelers is keeping secrets from the others.
Shadowed by Interpol, the Mossad, and MI6, Nair gets mired in lust and betrayal in a landscape of frighteningly casual violence as he travels with Adriko and Davidia, gets smuggled into a war zone, gets kidnapped by the Congo Army, and is terrorized by a self-proclaimed god ruling over a dying village. Their journey through a land abandoned by the future leads Adriko, Nair, and Davidia to meet themselves not in a new light, but rather in a new darkness.
A high-suspense tale of kaleidoscoping loyalties in the post-9/11 world, Denis Johnson's The Laughing Monsters shows one of our great novelists at the top of his game.

    Good
Very Graham Greene; this would be a good follow up to "the quiet american, " by the same. I found the main character to be similar, but too respectable. Its quick though, and fun, so definitely give it a shot. The narration is strong.
One Man's Self-Designed Heart of Darkness
Brilliantly written, wonderful (as they are unlikeable) characters. Reads as a hellish travelogue. It's a pseudo-spy novel, more interested in self loathing than in byzantine plot devices.
I think some people might be put off by some of the politics expressed in the piece, but I think Johnson (and the piece) draw a distinction between what the protagonist (and perspective-character) wants/thinks and what the world is. It was a clear deliniation for me, at least-- don't need to launch into a whole dang thinkpiece here in the reviews.
Very good piece, as you'd expect from Denis Johnson (the only reason it's 4 instead of 5 stars is because I'm not in love with the very tail-end. I expect this may be a taste thing though).
Scott Shepherd's performance is fantastic. Acted just enough to be evocative without being distracting (and acted incredibly well, too). Just damn great.
    Great book, annoying 'voices'
The book was great. Exciting journey through Africa. Amazing writing. Relevant to today's American security/secrecy debates. My only complaint is the narrator did the obnoxious voices for all the characters. Some of the voices made no sense.

    Excellent espionage thriller!
My first exposure to Leo J Maloney and his Dan Morgan series was the three hour novella Twelve Hours which is one of the best books I have listened to this year. Black Skies is not as good, but it is an excellent thriller well worth listening to.
    five stars
Maloney needs to be more. An entertaining writer and story teller. I've enjoyed all the Dan Morgan books.
    more more please
loved the authenticity of storyline, great characters, great book by an author whose seen and done it all
    Boiler Plate
Would you try another book from Leo J. Maloney and/or John Pruden?
Perhaps. Only with a stronger story line/plot. Entire passages were so predictable that maintaining focus on the narrator was difficult.
What three words best describe John Prudens voice?
Not the best or worst I've heard from Audible. Wouldn't listen to a book solely based on his narration.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Loss. Loss of a perfectly good credit.
    Very entertaining
This was a very entertaining book. It kept me interested the entire time. I look forward to more of his books.

Truly enjoyable story from start to finish!
Would you listen to Valhalla again? Why?
Absolutely! It was a great adventure/mystery story with wonderful characters. There is so much detail I'm sure there are things I missed that would be even clearer the next time I listen. The narrator was greatly skilled with all the different accents and ages of the characters as well as different male and female characters. It kept my interest all the way through, and made me laugh out loud at some points as well as being on the "edge of my seat" at other times.
What other book might you compare Valhalla to and why?
Some parts are similar to Clive Cussler's "Plague Ship", but the story has much more to it.
Have you listened to any of Christopher Lanes other performances before? How does this one compare?
Christopher Lane has been one of my favorite narrators ever since I heard him narrating "Lightening" by Dean Koontz. I like his voice and his skill at making many different characters seem like they are speaking with different voices.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, it is a long one, and there are lots of details.
    Any additional comments?
After I listened, I immediately looked to see if this author has any other fiction books available. So far, he has only written two other non-fiction, historical books. I hope that he will write another fiction adventure. I really enjoyed this. HIs characters are interesting and multi-dimensional. He adds humor which is a plus to any adventure story (for me) and he seems to have done lots of research on historical facts. Of course, reviews are only really opinions, so they can be as varied as the diversity of people who give them. I really enjoyed this book and that is nice to be able to say.
Really good. Was hoping for more Viking history
I really liked this book. The narrator was a little over the top on most of his voices. Some for good, some bad. I was loving all the Viking stuff literally frozen in time and found myself wishing there was much more than there was. But overall really enjoyable. Reminded me of Dan Brown's earlier stuff like Deception Point.
    Above average action-adventure novel
This was an entertaining action/conspiracy novel.

    Publisher's Summary:
Mark Dawson (author of the best-selling John Milton series) continues the action-packed quest for revenge begun by Beatrix Rose in In Cold Blood.
Ten years ago, Beatrix Rose headed an off-the-books hit squad that did the dirty work of the British Government. When she discovered that the commander of the squad was corrupt, he sent five of his assassins to rub her out.
    But they failed. Bad mistake.
There were six names on Beatrix's Death List, and now there are four. She's going to account for the others, one by one, even if it kills her.
Beatrix has returned from Somalia with a fresh target in her sights. Bryan Duffy is in Iraq, surrounded by mercenaries, with no easy way to get to him and no easy way to get out.
Will Duffy prove to be a challenge too far?
Fans of In Cold Blood will know all about the unlimited action, but until you've listened to Blood Moon Rising, you'll only know one third of the story!

    Loved Blood Moon Rising
This is the second Audible book I've listen to ofMark Dawson's. As with the first book I've given it five stars. A fabulous listening story. I listen to audio books on my daily walks and Mark Dawson's books make my walk go past so quickly that I don't even notice that I've walked for over 2 hours. Just wish they were a bit longer. But fantastic all the same. Highly recommended.
    Awesome audio book .
Would you consider the audio edition of Blood Moon Rising to be better than the print version?
Yes the audio version makes you feel like you were right with Beatrix.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Blood Moon Rising?
How she helped the brother and sister get to a safe place/
What does Mark Deakins bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
He makes you feel like your right there.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes it made me cry when she hugged the brother and sister goodbye before they went to their relatives.
    Any additional comments?
This is the first book I have listened to and will now be looking forward to reading the rest of the series. Also this book stands alone so you can read the series out of order.
Wonderful espionage thriller in a wonderful series
Those who like espionage thrillers should listen to Mark Dawson's novels. My favorite Dawson series is Beatrix Rose. In Blood moon rising ex-British espionage agent is getting some revenge as she dies of terminal cancer. She is also teaching her teen daughter Isabella how to protect herself after she (Beatrix) dies. Action is constant and suspense is extreme in the four novels in this series. Mark Deakins' narration is pitch perfect.
    Beatrix Rose Rocks
Beatrix Rose is one of those kick ass females which need to be written about more frequently. I wish this series would continue far longer than it currently is
Another solid entry into my read category.
This one left me looking for the next book. Excited to read on. thank you.

    Great WWII Historical Fiction
Low Expectations, but I really enjoyed this! Highly recommend for anyone who likes the era and the genre. Says Book 1, hope it is a series as story starts pre WW2 in mid to late 30's. Really looking forward to the next installment, reminds me of Furst and Kerr,
    outstanding first book
a great thriller in the tradition of Philip Kerr that keeps you in suspense right to the end. Patrick O'Byron has a great future ahead of that we can be sure!
    Great narration, OK story
What would have made Corridor of Darkness better?
I liked the narrator so much in this book, that I actually bought the second in the series (there are three total). Tim Campbell's pronunciations, enunciation and character voices were all remarkable. As far as the story goes, it was just so-so. While entertaining, it pales in comparison to the WWII stories written by Philip Kerr. I will not buy book three or any other by Mr. O'Bryon. There are much better writers out there.
    War is hell
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
You can tell the author did extensive research into the era. The attention to detail really places the reading in the story and atmosphere. You can feel the tension and brutality of war.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Rene, I easily relate to his personality and actions.
Which character as performed by Tim Campbell was your favorite?
Ryan, through the narration you can feel that you are in the story, that Ryan is talking to you.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Without giving anything away, the Rene and Horst scene is the most riveting and crushing.
    Any additional comments?
    Excellent book!
    Scene Setting To A Fault
This story starts out very slowly as the author falls in love with the act of scene setting...for a long time. As the book progresses though, you get to a story which ends up being quite entertaining...if you like WWII intrigue, I think you will ultimately enjoy this book...just be patient!

    Publisher's Summary:
Being prepared for any scenario is the trademark of any good CIA operative, and Eve Wolfe is one of the best. But when her latest mission literally explodes in her face, she wakes up labeled a traitor and - even more surprising - in the custody of elite Aegis Security operative and ex-lover Zane Archer. Although she still secretly has feelings for Zane, hes now demanding the one thing that she cant give him: The truth.
When he caught her breaking the rules years ago, Zane let Eve walk away without an explanation. Now someone has not only sabotaged Aegis but also turned an American city into a war zone, and all signs point to Eve. Zane needs answers that can come only from Eves still-tempting lips, and he finally has the elusive operative right where he wants her - at his mercy.
The first book in best-selling author Elisabeth Naughton's new steamy romantic suspense series brings a spy in from the cold - and sets her heart ablaze.

Nowhere near as good as book 2
I'd read book 2 and really liked it so was looking forward to this one but was disappointed. I never felt anything for any character.
Perhaps the narration had a lot to do with that. The second book had a male, maybe they did that because they realized the problem. Even though he was hyper, it was conducive to the story. This narrator had a nice narration voice UNTIL she spoke as a character. Especially the male. TOO soft spoken and not as all masculine. It was also too soft spoken for scenes that needed emotion. Why did everyone have a southern drawl?
I like sex but these characters had no depth & only thought about it over & over & over. They were supposed to be professionals but sure didn't have much control of their thoughts. Halfway through I started fast-forwarding through those scenes because they were flat.
Pretty good start to the series :)
    3.5-4 stars
This was a pretty good story. I liked Eve and Zane and liked their story. This is the first story I've read by this author and I liked it well enough that I'm likely to read more of her work in the future.
Eve is a CIA operative. She lost a fiancee when she was in college and this prompted her joining the CIA. Her parents are dead and she has a sister but there are some difficulties between them, a lot caused by Eve being gone all the time and her sister not understanding why because she doesn't know about Eve's job.
Zane used to be part of the CIA but was a bit too much of a black and white (with no grey in between) type of person to be able to handle that job well. He left that job and joined up with Aegis security but when a job went wrong it messed up his head and he left to find the person he thought was responsible.
Eve and Zane were involved during an assignment years before. They fell for each other but Eve was freaked out by how Zane affected her (making her feel safe and forget herself) so she ended it and left at the end of the mission, never looking back. When Zane left the CIA and joined Aegis he had a hard time forgetting Eve. When a job went wrong and it looked like Eve might have something to do with it, Zane decided that she'd gone rogue and decided to go on his own to track her down and bring her in. When the story begins, Eve is in Seattle meeting a contact when the contact changes things by showing her a picture of her sister being held captive.
