Liam

From the moment I set eyes on that brown eyed, little Italian rock goddess I knew she was meant for me. But my life was too messed up to give her what she needed. So I pushed her away - right into the arms of my band's front man - only to regret it the second I saw them together.

The moment they were over I tried to clean up my act and chased after that girl until she was mine.

But like always, I let my demons screw with my head and went looking for my next fix. I knew if she found out I would have to choose between the numbness that the drugs gave me, and the best thing that had ever happened to me.

I chose wrong.

Gabriella

The second that I found out Liam was in a car accident that fateful New Years Eve night, I knew I'd made the worst mistake in not trying to fight for him. For us. I never should have pushed him away, but tried to help him through his battle with addiction. When he woke up in the hospital and saw me standing beside of him, I knew that I had killed the love he had for me and all that was left was hate.

Now, more than a year later, I knew the truth about that crazy night. I knew why he'd pushed me out of his life, and I was going to stop at nothing to get the man who owns me - heart and soul - back.

That is if I can survive the night....

An old favorite

This story was enjoyed but sadly spoilt by low volume and too fast speech.Mary Stewart is one of my favourite authors.

Most Emotional Of Series To Date

This was the hardest book to listen to so far in this Death Dwellers series. One reason is the voice actor. Mr. Valor does a great job in bringing the harsh reality of Kendall's world to life. There is no way that you won't feel something for this latest book. It's a story that is the most violent and our narrator makes you sit up and pay attention. You can almost feel her pain.

One good thing is that since this is Johnnie's story, the swearing isn't as bad as the previous book. But with all the violence, sometimes I actually would have preferred it. With that you wouldn't think that I liked the story but I did. We get some backstory here - get an understanding of the life that Johnnie and Christopher grew up in. This is one of those stories that it's hard to turn away from because this story has a realistic tone to it.

Everything that Kendall went through is something that could be happening to any woman in the world right now. Johnnie seems so put together but this story gives us more look into what he's really like. Their story is one that I have to turn off now and then because some of the violence is hard to take. But that doesn't stop me from going back time and again. I want to know that Kendall is going to be able to find some kind of happiness.

Ms. Kelly is most imaginative with this book. You have to wonder her thought process. Did she research? How did she get through all those scenes where there was violence against women? Or when she wrote the graphic scenes that show exactly what the men of the Death Dwellers, and enemies, are really like. Her words have left me wanting more. Mr. Valor has left me wanting more.

This is one book that shows why I listen to audiobooks. If I read the book I don't think I would have the same reaction. With someone reading to you, bringing the characters to life, you can almost see the scenes come to life - like a movie playing out in your head. You have your headphones in so that all you can do is concentrate on the story. Everything else is cut off since all you can hear is what the narrator is telling you.

I start my day with a couple of disappointments.

Chemistry at its hottest!

Any additional comments?

I listened to this book from start to finish on a long drive! It is not what you would expect out of a typical love story! The Chemistry between Aieisha and Kyle is absolutely electric. Aleisha is torn between love and professionalism with a few twists that I certainly didn't expect. I would suggest this audiobook to anyone who loves a good romance story!

A Sizzling Manhattan Romance!

The Billionaires Twin fever is a great listen for anyone who is into the romance genre.

This story follows a single young mother of two beautiful babies as she gets a promotion the law firm she works for. The company takes on a powerful partner by the name of Kyle Drake who has his mind set on success.... for now ;)

This romance novel is tastefully written and narrated by Skyler Morgan who has a soft, deep and enjoyable delivery.

Fun Series

This is a great series and very different from her other Paranormal Romance Series. This is a fun contemporary romance series with a Native American bent, centered around one family and their close friends. You will laugh and you will cry.

Stories are worth a credit, narration is excellent. For adults only.

Fantastic!!!!

I loved this super sweet romance! I loved Willow and Garrett! They had a slow building romance and really got to know each other and it was fantastic. Great narration and a nice, clean romance.

**audiobook provided in exchange for an honest review**

Hesse Creek Series Book 2

This is the second book in the Hesse Creek Series. I really enjoyed Walland and several old characters are back and we have picked up some new ones as well. The story is captivating. I'm glad it's not an overwhelming amount of drama like many of the contemporary romances. Andrea has a great talent in submerging her readers into the story and keeping them engaged all the way to the conclusion.

Narration was excellent and brought the story to life. It is easy to understand what is going on and who is speaking at all times.

This book was just as good as the first one. I'm also thankful for the lack of cliffhangers. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series but not annoyed because the conclusion was well done. It will be nice to find out how they are doing in the next book.

The main characters are well developed and very likable. Honestly, I have enjoyed some of the secondary characters as well. Willow and Gerrett seem quite different at first but they do make a great couple. They have both been burned by the opposite sex. There are a few unexpected twists and a sweet HEA.

Brilliant Romance

Seeds of Intention by Andrea Thorne

Narrated by Maryne Young

This second book in the Hesse Creek series is brilliant. Blackberry Farm resort in Walland, Tennessee provides a beautiful backdrop. Garrett Oliver has passion for his career as a master gardener and Willow Armstrong arrives to manage the rustic resort and care for her father.

The characters are well developed and the story follows the friendship and romance between Garrett and Willow. India and Wyatt from the first installment Walland play supportive roles adding depth to the story. The story blooms like the surroundings as a gentle and well-timed ebb and flow. The prose of the story takes you on a journey celebrating life.

From Garrett and Willows first meeting and evening sitting on the porch in rocking chairs you can feel the sparks and honesty in this relationship.

Members Reviews:

More than just forgiveness.

This was a good story. Her resilience and her focus on her daughter helped her immensely. The connection and eventual love for Christian was just what she needed.

The narrator is the only one thing that I would change. She doesn't always convey the emotions needed when telling a story.

good but drawn out.

The story was good but drawn out. I kept skipping chapters only to have to go back because I missed a good part in all the extra. The story really was good. It was just very slow moving.

Love is king!

Im standing up and Im applauding! This was a very good story two people who were damaged by terrible things that happen in their past and the way that they found each other and the redemption that came along with that. You wont be disappointed Reading this story. I give a story two Thumbs way up definitely one handkerchief and five stars!

Greattttt

I really liked this book and would recommend this book. I wish the narrator had been better with each character voice. That would have been great. Because the Marines and older people voices would have been great if the narrator had changed her voice. I was glad Georgia didn't give in to Robert 's threats. It had a great storyline and sexual storylines. I wish this book was a movie or TV show. I hate it's over. I will look for more books by this author. Good job!

Deep...

Wow! Where to start? I first listened to Hope Blooms by this author and it just didn't really move me. Well that was not the same for this book!! This story moved me on too many levels. it was deep to say the least. There was love lost, love gained, forgiveness, stupidity, PTSD, Rape, this list goes on. This was a spectacular listen, one that I definitely plan to listen to again. I hate that the book had to end.

Title: Black Swan Affair

Author: K.L. Kreig

Narrator: Ava Erickson, Tad Branson

Format: Unabridged

Length: 10 hrs and 55 mins

Language: English

Release date: 08-10-17

Publisher: K.L. Kreig

Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 92 votes

Genres: Romance, Contemporary

Publisher's Summary:

I've loved him as long as I can remember. The gangly boy with big brown eyes and unruly hair who grew up into an intoxicating man. He wears scruff like he invented it and ambles with a swagger that makes panties drop. Killian Shepard. Shep. We grew up together. We played Ghost in the Graveyard. Had our own rock band. It didn't matter that he was five years older than me. It didn't matter that he looked at me as a kid sister even as I grew into woman. It didn't even matter when he left me behind to go to college and start his adult life. He'd be back. He was always meant to be mine.

He came back, all right. But instead of smelling of promises, he stunk of betrayal. And he destroyed me the day he married my sister instead of me. So I did the only thing a girl like me in my position could do. I got my revenge. I married his brother, Kael. Now we're one big happy f--king family.

Members Reviews:

WOW!.....What a crazy ride!!

At first I wasn't sure about this listen, but I'm glad I got it! What a crazy love triangle between brothers and sisters. I did get mad at the female lead at times due to her going from one brother to the other(make up your damn mind already!). The narration was awesome. Well worth the credit.

THIS BOOK WAS A GREAT LISTEN

Any additional comments?

This story seems at the beginning to be clear cut until..... Secrets and Lies and Love and Money all come to the light. I really enjoyed every minute its a true love story but who should she be true to? This one will leave you in knots either way. I loved it. Narration is excellent.

A Must buy - Absolutely Awesome

Do not miss out on this book. It has it all. Normally, I absolutely HATE books with past/present back and forth sections (the 6 years ago, 15 years ago, etc. storylines which ends up over powering the book), but this was the exception. This book kept my interest throughout Funny, romance, hot steamy sex scenes, captivating plot, etc.. The storyline was addicting, all the time rooting for Kale and Maverick. I was very angry with Maverick for even wanting to be with Kilian after he marries her sister, eye roll, it just pissed me off; I mean, who wants to be with a man who slept with their sibling (and a hated sibling at that). Not sure what happened in the end because I had to tell everyone how great this book is, at chapter 12. I was quite surprised this author is new to Audible (while our well known favored authors continue to disappoint with their experimental projects, you know, the ones who choose inept narrators and/or attempt something new which ends up falling flat). Im totally trying to write this review without giving spoilers.ahhhh, lets just say you wont be disappointed in making this your next purchase.

This deceitful web will have many trapped..

*No spoilers here* just enough information to clear all the confusion in the beginning..This is one love triangle I couldn't put down. Maverick has been in love with Killian since she was a teenager. When she becomes of age the two finally consummate their angsty union. Unfortunately, while Maverick is making plans to love Killian for the rest of her life, he's making plans to marry her sister. After finding out this tragic news Maverick is heart broken and looking for answers that Killian won't give. In the beginning I disliked Killian because he didn't want to let Maverick go and yet was unwilling to call off the wedding.

Title: Manny Get Your Guy

Subtitle: Dreamspun Desires

Author: Amy Lane

Narrator: John Solo

Format: Unabridged

Length: 6 hrs and 16 mins

Language: English

Release date: 08-10-17

Publisher: Dreamspinner Press LLC

Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 31 votes

Genres: Romance, Contemporary

Publisher's Summary:

Starting over and falling in love.

Tino Robbins' sister, Nica, and her husband, Jacob, are expecting their fifth child. Fortunately, Nica's best friend, Taylor Cochran is back in town, released from PT, and in need of a job.

After years in the service, and recovering from grave injury, Taylor has grown a lot from the callow troublemaker he'd been in high school. Now he's hoping for a fresh start with Nica and her family.

Jacob's cousin Brandon lives above the garage and thinks "Taylor the manny" is a bad idea. Taylor might be great at protecting civilians from a zombie apocalypse, but is he any good with kids?

Turns out, Taylor's a natural. As he tries to fit in, using common sense and dry wit, Brandon realizes that Taylor doesn't just love their family - he's desperate to be part of it. And just like that, Brandon wants Taylor to be part of his future.

Members Reviews:

I love this series - sweet, funny, tender

I definitely think you need to have read The Virgin Manny for this to make a lot of sense. While I suppose theres enough information for it to be a standalone, really, the first part of the story and all the background is found in the earlier book.

We met Taylor when he was young and dumb and full of well, spunk and attitude.

He didnt make any friends with the way he was hiding and that sense of self-loathing has lingered. Now hes a new man with a ton of baggage. It wouldnt be an Amy story if we didnt have some baggage, right?

Well, Brandon has his own issues, but really, hes quite stable and hes definitely the rock in this relationship.

Because the Dreamspun genre really supports this type of plot, our guys get together and fall in love with ridiculous ease. However, there are some really great moments between them and their families. Its not just blink and it all goes away. This story, as compared the The Virgin has a lot more steam in it (much appreciated!!) and our MCs have a ton of chemistry.

I think I like this book better than book 1 because the characters felt more solid to me and the situation, while still a bit predictable, was unique enough and had some very real life elements in it that made it feel authentic.

As always, it was great to revisit the characters from book 1, and I found it fascinating how different Jacob was in this story versus the first book. Besides the passage of time, I think fatherhood absolutely shaped him a lot!

If I have any problems at all its that the initial reaction of Brandon to Taylor never made sense to me I wasnt ever quite sure where his anger came from, so I was glad it went away quickly.

All in all, highly recommended to fans of the author, book 1, sweet but hurt veterans, and stories with kids.

Audio

John Solo does another nice job with this. He doesnt do a lot with any sort of accents or anything but he makes the female voices unique, handles the childrens voices well enough and did a nice job with the emotions and pacing.

I enjoyed the tone quality of his narration and liked the voice he chose for Taylor.

This was an enjoyable way to experience this story.

4.5 of 5 stars

4 stars = I REALLY liked this audiobook!

I received a free copy of this audiobook to listen to and review for Wicked Reads.

Having loved The Virgin Manny, I was excited for the chance to review Manny Get Your Guy, the second installment in The Mannies series.
