Delightful!!

Set in the sleepy, seaside town of White Cliff Bay, Summer at Rose Island introduces readers to Darcy Davenport; who has moved from London to escape her suffocating parents. No sooner has she arrived, she has a seemingly abrupt meeting with the mysterious American, Riley Eddison, who lives in the local lighthouse; which, is revealed to be marked for demolition. With her position in community development, can Darcy assist in uniting the citizens of Rose Island to help save the lighthouse? Or will she go back to London, once again a failure in her parents' eyes?

Despite being the third book in the White Cliff Bay series, Summer at Rose Island is my first introduction to Holly Martins writing, and I was pleasantly satisfied with the experience. I mean, this book was corny, but a good corny. I loved getting cosy in bed and visiting Darcy and Riley through the audio narration.

While the story has a relatively predictable plot, there was something incredibly sweet about each one of Holly Martin's characters; I fell in love with Rose Island immediately. However, there were a few points where I became frustrated with one, or both, of the main characters as I felt that they were digging their heels into a feud a little too much.

Overall, though, I truly enjoyed listening to this book; I felt that the author did an outstanding job of drawing the reader into Rose Island through her words. Now, it is time to go onto Amazon and download the rest of the series; I need more fluffy reading as the weather gets progressively colder.

Ughh...

This had potential...until Chapter 12. . . Then all they could do was argue and have make up sex. The story got lame and predictable.

No matter how hard I tried to push her away, fate thrust us together again. Screw relationships.

My motto: Hit it and quit it.

Simple worked. Feelings weren't on the line, hearts weren't able to be broken, and I could keep my life simple.

My friends told me to move on and find "the one", but I wasn't ready to love again.

Until I met her.

A dirty-mouthed temptress with a killer body that had me questioning everything. I knew I could ruin her forever but not without losing myself.

I wouldn't do it.... Georgia Phillips was innocent, pure, and total perfection. I wouldn't be the one to strip her bare and break her heart.

I swore I'd never call another woman mine, but that was before I almost lost her....

Warning: If you can't handle a cocky bad boy or a badass chick with a dirty mouth, this might not be the book for you.

From USA Today best-selling author Chelle Bliss, Unlawful Desire is the second book in her alpha male erotic romance series Alfa Pi. A sexy listen that you won't want to end.

Members Reviews:

Great!

Loved it! A alpha man with a sassy ass woman who can bring them to his knees. Well worth the credit/money.

Sexy, Alpha Male all the way

Who doesn't love a sexy alpha male, ex-Miltary, working as a PI with a group of other sexy alpha males! I just want to be a fly in their meeting rooms and offices, and living rooms, and bathrooms, and bedrooms...but I digress. Chelle Bliss writes hot men with strong women. Frisco and Georgia absolutely fit those molds. I am so, so glad to see Frisco and Georgia get their own stories and even happier that it's together! Love it, and you most likely will too.

4 1/2 Stars

Any additional comments?

Read this series when it was first released and the audiobook is just as good if not better.

Big fan of all of Chelle Bliss's books, I highly recommend them all.

I could live in this series.

This entire series is wowing and off the charts amazing. Filled with suspense and steam. The absolute best voices. I can sit and close my eyes and visualize this book like a movie.

Publisher's Summary:

Vegas, Viscous Exes, and Ventilators.

My life felt like a fast ride on a too short highway. Coming home should be roses and rainbows, but nothing that comes out of the desert blooms free. I was most certainly not free. I'd missed my payment to Blaine, owed the last client a hundred grand I didn't have, and my father was on his deathbed. To make matters worse, Wes was missing in action. As in, no one had seen or heard from him in three weeks. Devastation didn't begin to explain where my mental state was at.

Like anything life had thrown my way, I pulled on my big girl panties, not the sexy lacy ones I enjoyed teasing my guy with, but the kind that said, "This ass means business."

I had no choice but to make the decision I made.

My ex, the man that ruined the concept of love for me, put my father in the hospital, was about to get everything he ever wanted...at least that's what I led him to believe.

In the ninth book of the Calendar Girl serial, Mia rushes back home to Las Vegas, Nevada. Things have taken a turn for her father, putting her into debt up to her eyeballs.

Each installment in the Calendar Girl Serial will feature Mia's journey as an escort to twelve clients in twelve different locations.

Calendar Girl Brings A New Story Each Month

The story line is everchanging as new characters each month add variety while the heroine charms me with twists as she meets new people. Wherever this year is leading us, I will never guess.

Read this series, but be sure to start with January!

Great series!

What did you like best about September? What did you like least?

The story just got a little out there for me but I am excited to see how we proceed moving forward. September wasn't the strongest story of the series but wasn't bad.

Would you recommend September to your friends? Why or why not?

yes, just because the series is really good. Worth the time.

September

Narrator continues to be excellent. Didn't like the idea of what happened to Janelle, but glad Blain is finally paid off...about time Mia let herself be helped.looking forward to the rest of the year.

You might think I had it all - a career I loved, a supportive family, the Nixon metabolism but not the Nixon ears, and a salary that supported my lavish taste in designer shoes, fine wine, and lacy lingerie - but I had no one to share it with.

Until the day I ran into him - my one-night stand from college with the crooked smile, let's-get-out-of-here eyes, and dirty, dirty mouth. Cute and cocky then, today Levi Brooks is six feet four inches of hot bearded fantasy. A sexy single dad with broad shoulders, strong hands, and a fantastically big...heart. (I mean, it's massive. And generous. And it pumps so hard.... Um. Sorry. Lost my place.)

Being a good father means everything to him, but he's keeping me at a distance because he thinks I deserve someone better - a man who can give me more time, more attention, more of himself. He doesn't believe he could ever be enough, but he's wrong. He's everything.

Narrator

The Narrator made this book! Amazing accents and being able to swap in and out of character. This story broke my heart, but made up for it at the end. An amazing second book to 'The Lavender Keeper.' Absolutely loved it!

Gripping story

This well written story holds one's interest as it weaves together the history of multiple characters through time and various geographical settings.

Unfortunately I found the narrator's "sing -song" phrasing detracted from the prose

Great book loved it very much

Loved the story it made me feel like I was there with the family and very well read

The Best!!!

Finally Armies story!! It was so worth the wait!! Best in the series. You won't regret this book!!

Excellent

I've really enjoyed many Lori Foster books, but this is one of my favorites. The groundwork was laid in the earlier books in the Ultimate series, so I already couldn't wait to see what would happen to Armie and Merissa before I started the book, but it's a great read even without that background. The characters were complex and interesting, the plot suspenseful and the sex scenes hot!

I loved this book.

I love this book and this series I hope there will be more book to come.

Ahhh, Armie

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, it was a great performace

What was one of the most memorable moments of Fighting Dirty?

When Rissy was going into the room for her x-ray.

What about Jim Frangiones performance did you like?

He brings you into the sex scenes and that is HOT!

Any additional comments?

I have waited patiently for Armie's story. I wanted his story as much as Cannon's so I'm not sure if I was was expecting too much or not but it doesn't really matter because Foster has never let me down. Rissy was a lot more level headed and grown up in this story than she has been portrayed in earlier books. I am glad this book came at the end of series so she could grow up a bit. Armie was smokin' hot (like everyone knew he would be). It is not my favorite in the series, but still good. There was never any doubt in my mind that he would die before letting anything happen to her. Their story was sweet and even though they had history, the build up was not rushed. They took their time (all much time as expected in a single book).

Armie is a MMA fighter just signed to a big company. Since he has been avoiding doing this since the first book in the series, we now know why. His past is shady, his family is horrible but he is a fighter with a soft heart and a great soul. It helps that he also has a overindulgence issue in the bed. Armie is good at fighting and f*&$ing. Marissa has know him since they were young and has been in love with him just as long. He avoids his best friends lil' sister at all costs (even his happiness) until her life is threatened and he is the only one who can console her.

I loved this book!

I have been waiting for this story and it didn't disappoint. every thing I expected and more.

Enjoyable easy listen

A sweet little romantic story that made for easy listening. It was a little predictable (but all love stories are) and of course a happy ending.

Predictable story

This was a very predictable story line. it was so redundant and it dragged out. it was so hard listening to an adolescents-like girl saying the same thing over and over again.

enjoyable listen

I liked the story it was sweet though predictable. The reader was a bit lacking in animation.

Great Book

The second in the series, and it's just as good as the first. This book focuses on a different character, and it keeps one in touch with the characters from the first book. When reading/listening to a good book, I become attached to the characters, and I want to know more when the story ends. Excited about the next book in the series!! This book is well worth it's cost.

What a lovely love story!!!

I liked this book... it was a second chance at love.... It is heart wrenching and on par with real life!!! On how relationships work... Can be read/listened to as a stand alone!!!
