New & Intriguing plot...Great read!

I was given this book free for joining the author's newsletter. It was wonderful! The premise is interesting in itself, a woman goes out at night pretending to be someone else to have sex, knowing she will NEVER see that man again...her choice. But there are so many twists and turns in this book...loved it! I literally couldn't put the book down. I'm very tempted to buy it thru Amazon so I can keep bookmarks. Couldn't do that in the freebie version I got. This will not be the last book I will read by Violet Haze . That's for sure!

UPDATE - I did buy it thru Amazon so I could put in my bookmarks. Some scenes are just too good to be read only once!

A WOW +5

I received a free copy for my review and I was blown away. Love ,loss, past lives, dying for your true love, finding yourself and discovering truths. This is a Rollercoaster that I was happy to stay on the ride to the end. Tobias and Joce are living their lives over and over finding each other, their soul mates to be ripped apart by evil and they will continue this until the curse is broken.

The characters and story is ideal and a definite read that anyone will enjoy. Still have the goosebumps from how exciting it was.

Amazing story with great twists that keep you guessing

I read this series in it's serial format and loved every minute. Violet Haze has a way of crafting unique romance stories that always surprise me and leave me in awe of her talents and skills.

For the Night: A wonderful start to a series. The chemistry and dialog between the characters is fabulous with off the charts, steamy sex scenes. Really like that Luna is a tough independent female trying to keep her Dad's dream alive. Excited to start part 2 to see how this relationship unfolds.

What He Desires: Jocelyn reluctantly accepts Tobias' proposal but she does with her own style. I love that she refuses to be a push over and works to maintain her independence even as Tobias is pushing back just as hard. The connection/interactions between the two are steamy and fun all at the same. Jocelyn is introduced to Tobias' family which is overwhelming to her but yet feeds something in her soul that I don't think she realizes she is missing. Violet Haze has given us an interesting twist in this tale with dreams of past lives that Jocelyn seems to be reliving/remembering. I am very intrigued to see how this plays out for her and Tobias as they move forward.

Narration was horrible!!!!

OMG! Why, oh Why did the narration change for book 2! Finally I fall in love with a dual narration...which I usually hate.. and them bam! Book 2 has the worst narration ever... I can't even tell who is talking half the time. Such a waste too...because this series is so good... it should be a crime... but man... the narration was just horrible... I seriously hope Audible goes back to their narration table and get the two that did book 1 to lock in for the rest of this series... OMG! Do disappointed...

I have no idea what actually happen... I skipped here and there...Had to rewind just to figure out who said what! Horrible...

Now, since I have read the actual book, I already know that Nick comes back and the ending was superb... another baby on board... Nick's sister has some drama with Nick's enemy...I mean I was a great read...but narration.. HORRIBLE!!!

Worth a sale... don't buy or credit...you will be disappointed.

I've actually read the book, but knew the author had made a few changes so I wanted to listen to it. I could listen to books by Jennifer Loren day and night and be very happy! The books get to a point where they get slightly predictable, then WHAM - there is a twist you certainly didn't see coming. They keep you guessing, and wondering what will happen next.

The narration was good and I loved the shape shifting angle, The story and the characters were well developed and held my interest until the end. I will be looking for more.

Disappointing

I usually enjoy books by Terry Spear, however, not true for this one. To be fair, it may have a lot to do with the narration. The story has *huge* holes in logic and the dialogue comes across very awkward and oddly pedantic at times. Ms. Spear did a great job with research on the jungle and Jaguars so that's really nice, but the amount of details at times is distracting. The basic premise is interesting and it does entertain the listener. I'm just not going to buy more in the series.

Kathleen McKnight because she was a human who knew nothing about jaguar shifters at the beginning of the story, so I was seeing them through her eyes and learning about them alongside her. She was a strong, courageous female lead, which I loved.

Which character as performed by Mackenzie Cartwright was your favorite?

Kathleen McKnight. Cartwright is a talented narrator who did all the voices well, but I prefer dual narration, where a woman reads the female parts and a man the male parts.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

If you loved Romancing the Stone, you'll love this jungle romantic suspense with a paranormal twist.

This was a very suspenseful read with lots of twists that kept me guessing. It hooked me from the opening scene.

I loved the entire adventurous story from beginning to end.

You had the strong male alpha and a strong female captain. Many times the story falters because one or the other plays hard to get for too long. In this case, once it's discovered that Kat has changed; Connor does his all to protect his family and get them to safety. Which is back home to Texas.

Yes! I love this book & this series!!! It has everything a paranormal lover is looking for in it! Excitement, adventure, sex, a great plot, humor. What more can a girl ask for, unless it is a vampire of her own!

I don't like to compare books because if someone didn't like the book I compared this too, they wouldn't like this book either and each book should be judged individually!

Which scene was your favorite?

When Eillia found out she was pregnant & in her world, that is very rare. I could feel all the emotions coming from her when she found out, after being barren for thousands of years.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but since it was afternoon when I started the book, I finished it the next day.

Great storyline, great plot. I love this series so far! This is the 4th book I have read by author C L Quinn / T C Butts & she has never disappointed me! This lady has such a wonderful imagination to keep a story going on into a long series - just amazing! The narrator, Natalie Duke did a pretty good job too in delivering this story to us.

My ears are bleeding

Why does the narrator think that a southern accent is equivalent to high pitched whining? She sounds like she is crying no matter what she is trying to say. I couldn't even finish it. I might read the Kindle version but I can't listen any more and I haven't made it to the halfway point.

Fun, even if not my cup of tea.

2.5, and I listened to the audible.

Okay, Im not entirely sure how to go about this review! There were parts that made me smile as I giggled inwardly, and one particular scene that made me laugh out loud. But then were more parts that made me roll my eyes or groan. I just.... I dont know. It wasnt a bad book, just maybe a little too immature and Some of the personalities TOO unbelievable for me. Fae folk and such totally exist, though.

I did enjoy the characters, and the imagery was really very good.

The narration was great, though. Bravo on making it fun with accents! 4 Stars there.

Overall, I regrettably cant give this more than 2.5 - 3 Stars, but I do still acknowledge that it was a pretty fun journey.

Really enjoyed this story

When I bought this story I wasn't too sure what to expect but as I really enjoyed some of the authors other books I thought I'd give it a go. The characters are all really lovable, or in some cases really detestable, but the overall plot of the story was excellent and you really get into the story and want everything to work out for them. The narration was good and I'm looking forward to seeing what else lies in store for these characters as I am hoping that another book is due out soon for cass and rock. I would definitely recommend this two others

What an amazing story

This was a thrill to listen to it really was. The only down side to the book was the narrator. She made the male voices sound creepy and pretty much all the same. I know that when narrators have to read a character that isn't their own gender they do a pretty good job of it but Ms Skyye made the male characters sound unappealing and unattractive.

The author did a beautiful job of writing the story and it was a true joy to listen to. I could hardly stop. I am looking forward to the rest of the books in this series. I can't wait to see what new characters and plot twist Jessica Lane will throw our way. I will hope that Ms. Skyye will not be reading the remaining books after book 2.

Great Shifter Series

I'm not going to go into details of what the book is about since the summary gave a decent book description. I've listened to this book and the second one in the series. I can't wait for the third book. The narrator did a good job for the most part. The male voices could be better at times, but they could also be a lot worse. There was a good balance of action, humor and romance. I would definitely recommend this book.

The narration was only bad when she read the male voices. The male voices were horrible!!!!!!!!!!! The female voices were fine. I was not able to get through half of it without thinking about Capitian Kirk. I realy can't say anything good so "Until Next Time....

Almost unbearable narration

It is hard to decide how good or bad the story is because the narration is so annoying. For all of the male voices, the narrator talks so slowly with unnatural pauses about every 4 words. It is so distracting that I couldn't focus on the story.

I didn't care much for the characters or story line overall but it might have been more tolerable with a different narration. I won't be getting book 2 or listening to another book narrated by Chandra Skyye.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I'm not sure where this went off the tracks but it really did! The narration was slow I literally had to increase it because the pace was driving me nuts moving it up one notch only made it marginally better.

I love this series and this book did not disappoint. This is a series that I have only read/listen to on audio at first. The author writes an amazing story and her narrator takes it to another level. I am so hooked on how the narrator preforms these books I wait patiently for the next one to be produced even though I have the whole series on in ebook version. Donna McDonald please keep writing this series and Allyson Johnson keep doing such an amazing job performing this series for her.

Cute paranormal romance set in the 1920s

I have had this book on my TBR pile for awhile now. This is first book in The Roaring Twenties trilogy; and is a cute paranormal romance set in the 1920's. It was a bit too romancy for me at times but I still enjoyed it; it was a nice, light, fun read.

The plot is fairly simple and isn't a huge part of the story; many times the plot is overshadowed by the romance. However, there are some paranormal elements in here too such as Aidas ability to see ghosts and the Chinese curse put on Winter.

I did enjoy the two main characters and the chemistry they have, they end up in a sweet yet tumultuous romance. The story ties up at a good spot too.

Overall this was a cute paranormal romance read set in the 1920s in San Fran. I enjoyed the setting and the chemistry between the two main characters. The plot was fairly simple though and the romance definitely overshadowed everything else. I prefer my stories to be a bit more balanced and because of that I dont plan on reading any more books in this series. Those who enjoy romance heavy paranormal reads should check this book out.

A bit disappointing

I like Jenn Bennett's Arcadia Bell series very much. So I'm sad to report I didn't like this book very much. The writing is fine, I just felt the plot was a bit thin, a good portion of the book is really just about getting the leads together in bed. I think some people like the romance to be the *A* story line, for me, I prefer the romance to be in the background. I like the idea of the world, I just wish there had been more focus on that.

Formula Romance with an interesting story

OK, Beautiful girl who doesn't think she's beautiful, though almost every man she meets hits on her, meets gorgeous man with scar who thinks he's ugly. Of course it's lust at first site. She's a medium and he's a bootegger cursed into seeing ghosts fom his past. That is the interesting part of the story. If you've read romances before, you know the romance part of the story. No suprises there. The writing is good, and the story is entertaining.

The sex parts weren't as bad as many I've read. Though I enjoy romance, I don't really like much sex in books, and please skip the thrust by thrust details! Leave it to the imagination.
