Enjoyable listen, give it a try

What made the experience of listening to Black Moon Draw the most enjoyable?

The narrator. I wont lie, sometimes her voice was a little whiny in the sad parts but she was so funny in the humorous parts. Her laughing had me laughing.

What other book might you compare Black Moon Draw to and why?

No comparison. The concept of the story was very unique to any books I have read. The character was brought into the story she was reading.

Overall I liked this books. It was a little long and some of the characters voices I did not like but I liked the story overall. I loved how little issues in the book translated for Naia like when the Shadow Knights clothes changed. I thought that was so funny. I think this may be an overlooked audiobook but I really encourage you to give it a chance. I think it would be enjoyable.

I was drawn into this story, not so much as Naia

I loved the way Naia complained to the author. In a similar situation, I'd be doing the same. It's difficult to determine if there are any unintentional flaws in it and that's the best part. The part of me that is OCD got to relax and enjoy the story without wincing every time the author messed up. It was so funny when Naia called out the line that was intentionally spoken so you could barely understand it.

Julie does another great job narrating the poor woman who goes through mood swings in seconds. Her gruff voice for the Knights is good too.

As far as the ending, it sucked because I didn't want it to end so soon.

Overall a creative, entertaining and enjoyable story. Romance, action, adventure, mystery and suspense.

I was really looking forward to this book. What a concept a book lover gets pulled into a book. If youre a book lover you've seen the question asked before in book groups, discussions, a meme, etc. if you could be pulled into a book which one would it be. Unfortunately the story didn't pull me in right away, it just wasn't holding my attention. Eventually the story did pull me in after a few chapters.I think I would have enjoyed this book more had I read it rather than listened to it.

The way characters are perceived has a lot to do with the way they are presented through the narration. The characters just did not come across as very likable especially in the beginning. Naia came across as whiny and annoying. Eventually she grew on me.

You can't lose reading an Allie Mackay book!

Graeme and Kendra stepped right into the depths of my heart. She is busy trying to calm some spirits in a northern Scottish village and trying hard to keep that fact from Graeme while he has some secrets of his own that he's trying to hide from her. They find themselves falling in love while shuffling their own secrets.

Allie MacKay takes you on a wonderful journey to a Scottish village named Pennard where you can smell the sea and feel as if you could reach out and touch your surroundings. Secondary characters who will make you smile and one Viking spirit who touched me so much I'll always carry him with me.

She always has a dog in her stories and Jock is a true soul. You can't lose when you pick up a Mackay book.

Different from the original but still a great book!

I recently read this book after having just reread the original version. I agree with the author that the original version was quite dark and did seem a bit out of place with the earlier books in the series. This newer version, which I wasn't aware of until just recently, is much lighter. I did enjoy it, especially the happier feeling throughout. However, I feel like the original version had more depth and the whole mystery behind the wand was more worthy of the extreme secrecy of keeping it hidden. Yes, it was darker, but I feel like that actually added more dimension to the characters and the whole reason for why the wand was so coveted was stronger in the first version. I hope Sue-Ellen will continue to write more books as Allie Mackay. I really enjoy the time-travel Scotland books.

Yet another GREAT STORY BY Allie Mackay(Revision)

LOVED IT!!!

This reissue/revision is by far SO!! Much better than the first dark version. From the first page Kendra and Graeme sweep you away to Scotland present and past! If you are a fan(you should be) of Allie MacKay/Sue-Ellen Welfonder you will be glad to see recurring characters! Hint: "Red Plaid Shoe Laces and a Little Red Fox" . If you aren't yet a fan you will be after reading Haunted Warrior! Guaranteed!

While both Graeme and Kendra have their secrets ~ One trying to help the disgruntled spirits "Ghosties" of Pennard and the other trying to keep a "Secret Relic" safe and out of the hands of an evil, while keeping his secret a secret. Neither wanting to fall in love, thinking that it just wouldn't work. They both find out that true love happens and is very precious indeed! Both lovers of animals and of course there is a lovable dog in this story as with all stories!! Allie MacKay/Sue-Ellen Welfonder takes you on a spectacular journey to Scotland.

If you are a fan of GOT you will love Errant Spark

What other book might you compare Errant Spark to and why?

If you are a fan of Game of Thrones, you are sure to love Errant Spark by Ronelle Antionette. At the heart of the story there are several ruling families and each seems to have his or her own agenda at play. Like GOT there is a power struggle going on with loads of conniving people each making a play for power in some way. You cannot trust anyone because as the story progresses you discover that everyone has secrets. EVERYONE.

On the down side this story started off very slow. Considering all the ground work that the author had to establish it makes sense. Trust me. You need to stick with it. Once it takes off the pages simply fly by. The characters are complex and well defined. While there are several intricate stories intertwining, Jex and Enari's story steals the show. Despite Enari's non verbalization, her emotions speak volumes. With all the backstabbing and closed door scheming, her relationship with Jex is quite refreshing. Add it that the amazing narration and it simply comes to life.

What about Ginny Rosss performance did you like?

Ginny Ross did a fantastic job narrating Ronelle Antionette's Errant Spark. Since the story centers around several different affluent families from different countries there are multiple dialects for Ginny to use. She did a brilliant job of differencing between the dialects. I would think one the hardest characters to portray would be Enari since her words are inside her head and not really vocalized but Ginny really connected me to this character.

I am looking forward to continuing the series and really hope to explore other selections by both the author and narrator.

Gripping story

There is intrigue in court life, Goddess worship and lots of action in this book. Enari thinks she is just a simple novice but during this adventure she finds out she has much more to herself than she ever imagined.

I found the reading quite stilted but still enjoyed the story.

I received this audiobook at no-cost from Audiobookworm Promotions. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

It's A Story That Picked Up Speed As It Went Along

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend to someone who is looking for something different. Being the first book in a series, they will find that it starts off slow but if they're a patient person they won't be disappointed by the end.

Who was your favorite character and why?

It's a toss up between Jex and Anari. Jex is a man who takes a shine to a woman of very few words but that doesn't stop him from communicating with her. Anari may not have much to say but the narrator gets her feelings across to the reader.

would try another book by Missy Meyer but would avoid Kat Heiser narration at all costs

If you're going to do an accent for a character then maybe you should check you can do that accent first rather than insult people with your terrible interpretation. Brits don't sound like a South African or an Australian, if you can't do the accent then just use your normal voice don't attempt it and get it so badly wrong it distracts from the story.

Screw heroes

It was a great alternative spin on the traditional super hero story, great book overall highly recommend

the book was dull and slow I've read quite a bit of superhero / super villain literature, and this one was the worst it doesn't do enough to make you feel as if this is a living breathing world.

A Matched Made In Heaven ....Umm I Mean The Stars!

L. H Whitlock delivered a story that reminded me of a mix between Lisa Lace, Mychael Daniels, and Eve Langlais. This Sci-Fi romance had a good mix of action, humor, and some romance. I really enjoyed the characters, and all the humor. Not all the characters were whom they seemed, and you had to question some of their motives. Lily (the heroine) was strong, spunky, and had a great sense of humor. Out of all the characters she had me laughing the most. At first, I wasn't sure what to think of the hero, Ulrick. He was cold, and came across as a cruel leader, but as he relentlessly searched for his "Match," you start to see other layers to his personality. He was very patient, and caring with Lily.

The plot was well thought out, but the execution had me confused at times. I found myself having to rewind several times. One thing that really had me confused was the relationship between Brock and Lilly, were they friend with benefits or ex-lovers? The world building was mixed. There were some things that were really creative and alien in nature, while other things were just normal. I would have loved to seen more creativity around the world building. But compared to other sci-fi romances, it was a step up. I will be on the lookout for the next book in the series.

Anna Crowe did a great job with the narration. I loved all her female characters, and the male characters were good; however, I suggest practicing with a deeper voice or a using a more prominent inflection and tones for the male characters.... But still, it was a great performance.

action action!!!!!!

This story is about a group called the The Renegade that work together to defeat an evil entity named Golan. He sucks the life from planets and kills it. The Renegade work to try and save all they can so the will not cease to exist. The heroine, Lily and her team face this evil, betrayal and loss and to top it all off, Ulrick, one of Golans top general is her mate. Her match. But all with Ulrich is not what it seems. I enjoyed this story and look forward to more in this series. I received this audio book free for an honest review.

Sweet, easy, enjoyable read.

Bonnie Dee is a wordsmith. Her words bring her characters to life and I could see each of them clearly as I read. I liked all the characters, even Francine who was just looking out for her co-worker and friend, Ava. I could picture the town and its laid back way of life. I think the setting was so slow moving, it made the book feel slow too. That's not necessarily a bad thing. The pace fit the story and an out of the way stop-over on his way to...well, he didn't know where, was exactly what Mason needed. Healing was an exhausting calling and he was spent.

Ava had enough on her plate for an entire team of professionals to manage. Yet, she wouldn't impose on anyone for help, couldn't afford to, and seemed to have a calling of her own. She didn't see herself as a martyr or wearing a superwoman cape, she just did what had to be done and she did so with a loving spirit. She did an excellent job of nurturing her younger brother, Bryan, who had to deal with having Muscular Dystrophy.

The author did a great job of letting her readers share in Bryan's frustrations, moods, and the physical limitations that came with the disease, as well as his teenage friends who are not always kind or understanding. Ava handled it all beautifully without any help from her mother, who was drowning in her own grief--drinking herself into oblivion.

A romantic attachment between Mason and Ava was predictable; the chemistry between them was evident from the start. While Mason had no intentions of putting down roots in Waller, he was drawn to Ava like he had been drawn to no other.

On the surface, it might appear that Ava was nothing more than a soul who lacked goals and was accepting of her lot in life. However, as the story unfolds, she asks for what she needs from Mason on a physical level and later on a spiritual/healing level.

Beloved Healer was, I believe, written as Mason's story but it was equally Ava's story. This is the first book I have read by this author and it did feel somewhat robotic at times and fell short of my expectations. Still, it was a sweet, easy, and enjoyable read.

After being evicted from her apartment and loading everything she owned into her car Zeva had no clue want she was going to do. After her fathers death, her mother and her lost everything. Enjoyed the story. Seemed rushed in parts. But overall I enjoyed how it went. A little drama and some hot sex in this short story. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Tears for death and life...

I am doing this review because I promised I would for receiving and reading the book for free. A great book, a must read. It is a cute story of a young lady that grew up with money only to have her father die and find out there is no more money. So, she has been living in her own apartment away from drunk mother. When she gets back home from the college finding out she cannot qualify for any help to stay in school, she finds an eviction notice with all of her belongings setting at the curb. So, she loads it all in her little car and sits there crying when a gentleman knocks on her window to make sure she is ok. She tells him of her woes. He has the answer for her and takes her home with him. To her surprise, his twin brother is there...So, now read the story for yourself and enjoy it as I have. It is such a great story.

rushed and uneven and unbelievable

This concept has such promise, but it was way too rushed. In a few pages/hours, the hero goes from reading about shifters, denying the idea, then accepting the idea to fighting for them. Ahhh no. It just doesn't feel at all realistic.

More troubling is the hero starts the first pages in a relationship with the evil dude. But the guy is such an over the top jerk that you end up questioning the heros judgment. If he was with this guy, can we trust him to identify any true feelings? The bad guy wasn't really hiding. It was obvious he was a jerk. Why was John with him? How can we believe in John when he was with bad guy and totally oblivious?

Also there is quite a bit of contradiction. At one point John says "he isn't a bottom" then when he is falling into bed with Markas he goes on to reflect that "he is a bottom and prefers being beta". What?!?! That's not something a person forgets.

Basically the whole plot goes way too fast. Insta-love is fine but it doesn't work when the characters themselves don't believe in it. It's hard to like characters and their relationship when they can't believe it themselves. The shifter plot is a problem too. Everyone immediately believes in shifters with no reluctance OR all their close friends just happen to be shifter-experts! Ah, no. The unbelievable coincidences just pile on top of each other.

The author just tried to go too far too fast. It didn't work.

Hot Shifter Romance

Rescuing Markas was a great read with a lot of heart. Megan did a great job of conveying why John would have trust issues, and I liked how she didn't have him dive right into the instant love when he learned Markas was a shifter and attracted to him. I also thought Markus was a well-written character. He was new to shifting and Ms. Slayer was careful not to have him jumping straight into acting like a human. The sex between the two was hot but tender. I did find a couple of final line edit misses but nothing that messed up my enjoyment of the story. Bravo!

Great start to a series

This is a great start to a series - I've added all the others to my to be read list. I very much enjoy Megan's writing, and this book is no exception. It's engaging, sexy and romantic, and I look forward to finding out what she has in store for the characters next. Definitely recommended to paranormal romance fans.

Great story and loved the narrator

This story is wonderful. I enjoyed listening to it. Really love the world created in this book. It is so unique and interesting. Looking forward to the rest of the books in this series coming to audio. The narrator is one of my favorites. He does a fabulous job of telling this story.

Hot and Steamy

Very good book with lots of hot scenes. I wasn't sure what I was getting into, as I don't usually get this type of book with shifters and so forth, but I was pleasantly surprised and the narration was spot on too.

Unfortunately, it's the 2nd book, and I hadn't listened to the first, but it really didn't matter, there were a few references to the other book, but this story can be a stand alone.

Looking forward to listening to more in this series.

Different

This is a very steamy book. Full of spankings and sex. The story was going along very good but then toward end seem to rush to wrap things up? I received this book at no charge in exchange for a honest review. If your in need of a steamy spanking fix this would be it!!

Sara Fields is definitely a new favorite of mine.

This is the second story by Sara Fields that I've read or listened to. I love the way she writes so far. I wish I could afford to get all her audio books. I can't recommend this book enough. I hate spoilers so I won't do it to you.

Logan McAllister has a earthy voice that just pulls you into the story. I've only listened to him narrate 2 other books so far the first one I didn't care for at the time. It really threw me off listening to a male reading from a female perspective. The second one I enjoyed a more as I was getting a little more used to it.

Well, that's different!

This is a charmingly bonkers tale that is quite unlike anything else I have ever read or listened to! Ably narrated by MR Keen, whose dry take on the outlandish material allows the listener to choose how they perceive the tale. On one level, a serious, riveting, engaging narrative... on the other, a complete hoot of larger-than-life horror-wereromance.
