I loved the book. I was born in the 60's. And to hear the language from back then took me back. I had never listened to an audible book before. It was great. The narrator Beth Roeg did a great job with all of the characters.

This is the first book I have read from Sophia Wilde. It was great, I enjoyed it. I will read more from Sophia. This shifter book was different than any shifter book that I have read. It kept my interest . It was a quick read for me but It was great. I know you will enjoy it.

Unique take on a World with Vampires

Bessena witnesses a Vampire suicide which is overseen by a Watcher named Trace, who is a Dhampir. Watchers jobs are to be sure that there are no witnesses in order to protect the secrecy of vampire existence.

While tracking down Bessena to try to kill her to wipe out any witnesses, which is part of vampire law, Trace and Bessena develop a connection. I am hesitant to go in to any more detail for fear of giving away too much of the plot. There are multiple POV's but it is primarily from Bessena and Trace's POV.

The narration by Kevin Theis and production wasn't my favorite. The background was a little fuzzy but Ive heard worse, I am just used to a higher quality production. Also the narrator chose to use one voice for anything other than direct quotes. So even if he was narrating Bessena's thoughts he would use the same voice for narrating Trace's thoughts. It just required me to pay close attention to who was "thinking."

I do not think it is worth a credit but I do believe it is worth buying if can get it for a reduced price and if you are interested in stories with a twist on Dhampir and Vampire stories. I do plan on reading more books in this series.

Running in the Dark

I liked Bessina and Trace, but I found out while listening to this book that I don't like Russian accents. The narrator was good and his accent was good, but that accent is not for me. Bessina's religious views were interesting. I don't share her views but I know someone who does and from time to time we respectfully have discussions about our views. I want to know more about The Sect and The Vampire Nation. Sounds like that will be interesting. And what was really going on with her mother and father? I will check out the next book. Thanks for the read.

Just a little adjustments

I enjoy paranormal books as well as this one my only complaint is the narrator. His voice for the main character is a bit mature for his age. It makes it awkward for some of the story when I picture what's going on because I think of a mature man with a 20 year old female.

Loved it

I love this book! No totally can relate to London. Sleeping in a haunted mansion is thrilling to me and I would do just like her and pack up and go without a second thought. I love the brothers and their bond. Jason is a gentleman despite his curse and does his best to look out for her. Great story I hope there are more

It was a really enjoyable listen.

What does Gerry Hughes bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

He brought the story to life. His voice is deep and sometime you can make out a slight accent.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! This is a short story and it was very enjoyable and moved a great pace.

Really fun story, I did however expect a little more mystery, but over all a great story!!

I Couldn't Suspend Disbelief

"Midnight at the Satyr Inn" was in the sub-genre of erotic romance I think, which is fine but I had a difficult time even at just a little over an hour listening to this book. It started out okay with the character of London but the story was just not there. The Satyr brothers were okay. There just wasn't a lot of character development and with that I had a hard time believing the story. Maybe there's another part to this that I've missed.

Gerry Hughes's narration was pretty good. He had a deep voice which I liked. He spoke clearly and had a nice tone. An overall good job.

Surprising interesting love story (both anglo)

This is the 2nd story of the group of military members that were shifters. The 1st story was of a bear shifter male (widower) falling for a female latina (domestic abuse survivior) This story is about his buddy a eagle shifter Male (with a grandfather that was native american and a grandmother that was bi racial of white & black) The lead female had a past of pill addiction and lost her child due to it along with abusive drug dealer boyfriend ( black american) that was doing time for petty crimes.The main character senses that the female is his true mate and needs help getting on her feet & getting her child back. This story was SUEPRISING engaging. Drama, action and suspense. Plus the mystery of how and why the town is so filled with crime. This story was DIVERSE different skin colors, cultures & races mentioned.. Worth a credit or buy. YES! Hope there is a 3 book in audible version. Great job writting.

Good narrations!

Moving shifter romance with a lot of positive characteristics. She tries to put past mistakes and vicious people out of her life and regain custody of her baby daughter. His life is on track but wants to have a family, and from the first time he sees her he knows that she is his mate. It all goes on from there and is worth your time.

Got the audio on the cheap, and I really liked the way that the narrators alternated.

A Great Read!!

Another great story, a couple of Misfits (if you will) that are brought together by the powers that be.

Eagle shifter, and now retired Air Force Colonel Ian McAuthor meets Leigh, a human girl down on her luck. She paying for past discretions and suffering daily without her newborn daughter. Her daughter was taken from her, and now she is in for a big fight to get her back.

Everyone looks down on this poor girl. Everyone, except Ian. When he first sees her, sitting in a pew at church, he's captivated by her, drawn to her even. (See you can find someone to love, where ever fate sees it fit)

As their new friendship and working relationship grow, the willingness and love inside of Ian grows for her as well. It's a mating that needs to move slowly.

Short, nicely written, good message

Carrie and Brian literally run into each other and that's the beginning of a wonderful relationship for them. She's a human and he's a bear shifter. That upsets a biker faction who is anti-shifter. But they don't stop there. They stalk and attack Carrie, but they underestimate her courage.

This is a story about discrimination and hatred of those who are different. It's also a story about the power of community, family-by-choice, and love.

Just a collection of short stories

What the writer doesn't tell you is that the story described in the blurb is only a short story, and that this is just a collection of short stories. The main thrust of these short stories is a lengthy sex scene and violence. That's why it only gets one star. I wouldn't recommend reading this to anyone. The writer needs to take these stories and turn them into books worth reading.

Difficult listen due to narration.

Very difficult to listen to. The narrator does not pause between sentences, so you seem to loose the content of the sentence. I'm going to try the next book as it's a different narrator. The narrator does not do the story justice.

Narration is awful

Hard to follow this book because the narration is so bad. The inflection is off and therefore boring as it drones on and on. Most audio books I listen to are kind of hard to follow for poor narration. Take a hint! If I'm supposed to enjoy this it is almost impossible. I wish I had the text but it was supposed to be a simple tale to try and listen to. Holy Moly. It's bad! As far as the tale, I can't say much. I need to start it over. Just wanted to mention the horrible narration.

The is a simple story that starts off slow with the sad narration. The book is not bad but the narrator made me want to fast forward.

This has to be the worst one I have ever listened to. It sounds as if the narrator is from my Kindle (the auto reading) there is no inflection on the voice at all.

Didn't even get through the first minute so have no idea whether the story is good or not...

Where does Mating Dance rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

It was cute, tame and short. Not much drama in this book either. Don't get me wrong, I didn't hate this book, I liked it - it was just a little too tame for my taste.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Gus the seagull - I guess because there's a story/mystery there that wasn't revealed.

What about Rhiannon Angells performance did you like?

I thought she did a very good job, upbeat and appealing.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Ah, not really.

Any additional comments?

I guess these stories tend to appeal to younger girls (late teens, maybe). However, I will try to catch the next installment (book) because I think it will probably be the third sister, Tina's story. Again, have a little more drama or suspense in the story. A tad more danger I guess I am saying.

I am really enjoying the Bears of Grizzly Cove and look forward to more. The battle between good and evil is presented in an unique way. Bianca's stories are always a wonderful treat.

Mating dance success

Mating Dance is a wonderful whimsical romance between a sexy, respectful bear shifter and a human woman. Enjoyed the chemistry between the townsfolk, the sisters and the new couple.

Just Okay

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would have added some action. The story much like book 1 needed something to keep you interested. There just not enough of "meat" to keep your attention. This story line has great potential that is not being capitalized on by the author.

Would you ever listen to anything by Bianca D'Arc again?

Yes. She has talent that is unrealized.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Rhiannon Angell?

Yes. She has a great bedtime story voice.
