    Horrible Narrator
What would have made The Winning Hand better?
    Another narrator.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Winning Hand?
Sorry, but I couldn't listen long enough to find anything memorable.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Angela Dawe?
Sandra Burr, Jenny Sterling, Davina Porter, etc.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment and anger as I had planned to order the entire series.
    Any additional comments?
I read this series in hardback years ago and was delighted to find it on audio - that is until I heard Ms. Dawe speaking the part of Darcy - who sounds about 13. The sample was a male voice - deep, rich and very much in the role of Ms. Roberts' usual romantic characters, but when he and Darcy converse, Ms. Dawe's narration makes him creepy - like a much older man attempting to lure a child into a sexual liaison. Her particular rendition of Darcy's voice is further baffling as she reads other female characters in this book naturally - especially Blake's mother. Too bad she was chosen as the narrator because this book is one of the best in the series.
    Didn't like this one
I didn't care for this "innocent" heroine. It could be the story or the horrible voice used by the narrator. Don't waste a credit. Buy One Man's Art by the same author and narrator but is so much better than this one.
    The Winning Hand
Another MacGregor love story this time not orchestrated by Daniel all though he made his positive option known.
    Darcy... a good twist
I did expect for Jeffrey to be more of a problem but it still was a wonderful book.
Another wonderful tale of the MacGregor's
I enjoyed the 9th book in the series. Amazing that Nora Roberts comes up with so many wonderful stories. So thankful a teacher took the time to teach me the joy of reading!

Grant Campbell was a loner - rude and impossible! Yet as soon as he opened the lighthouse door to Genevieve Grandeau on that stormy night, she was lost. Underneath his gruff, handsome exterior, he was intelligent, sensitive...and slightly scarred. To Gennie, loving meant sharing, trusting. But Grant was hiding in the shadow of the past, afraid to move beyond it. She'd have to convince him that their love was a beacon for the future - but how?

    Not the best Roberts book...
The book was too slow in areas and then rushed on others... It was okay but a big disappointment considering the author!
I caught myself fast-forwarding through the love scenes and wanting more from the rest!
    Another love story!
I can't get enough of the characters and their love making! How romantic! On to the next book to satisfy my new addiction.
    Amazing
Great Book, loving this series. I already have Book 5. The MacGregor's are a wonderful group
    the MacGregors Series
Another wonderful one. But so far it's our heroine that's proposing marriage. I'm hoping the next one to be our hero, at least one of them in this series.
continuing look at the McGregor family.
I loved getting to learn all about the McGregor and his clan. Nora Roberts does a great job of making them larger than life.

    Publisher's Summary:
First, I had to remember how to breathe. Then, I had to learn how to survive. Two years, three months and 16 days had passed since I was the Rowe Stanton from before, since tragedy stole my youth and my heart went along with it.
When I left for college, I put 1,000 miles between my future and my past. I'd made a choice - I was going to cross back to the other side, to live with the living. I just didn't know how.
And then I met Nate Preeter.
An All-American baseball player, Nate wasn't supposed to notice a ghost-of-a-girl like me. But he did. He shouldn't want to know my name. But he did. And when he learned my secret and saw the scars it left behind, he was supposed to run. But he didn't.
My heart was dead, and I was never supposed to belong to anyone. But Nate Preeter had me feeling, and he made me want to be his. He showed me everything I was missing.
And then he showed me how to fall.

    Really Good
This is a great story about a young girl (Rowe Stanton) who survives a school shooting that takes her best friend and her boyfriend. After two years of hiding from the world she heads to college where she meets baseball star Nate Preeter and begins to resurrect her life. For the first few hours of this audiobook I was totally expecting to be granting a five star rating to this one. Then there were a few scenes featuring Rowe McHypocrite and at that point there was a great deal of teeth grinding, then fast forwarding going on. She throws what we in the mountains call a hissy fit and Nate the whipped pup accepts it all. Which brings me to a point that I just have to make; why is it that all female romance writers make the male leads of these books into wimps or women?
I am more into women than men, but when I'm with a man, I want a man. The frame of reference this author uses seems to be that the guy is always at fault. Then in the last 10 to15% percent of the story Rowe has reason to be upset but then she becomes Whiny Girl for way too long. I can and do understand that PTSD deeply affects people but Rowe's actions don't seem consistent with the diagnosis. Given those weaknesses I still like this book enough to give it four big stars.
    Sweet
Young love with grown up hurdles. A nice Sunday afternoon listen. Not sure if I'm in for the series, but enjoyed this one.
    VERY Y/A ... cute story
This story was a little too young for me. I think it was very sweet/cute and would appeal to a younger audience. The narration was fine, although I did not care for the female performance of a male voice. This story is a story of a young woman who survived a brutal experience and began a healing journey with the hero. Sale worthy .... I used a credit and didn't return it.
    Good, but not great!
I felt the story was really sweet and worth reading!
Rowe's sad story was just too annoying around the end. I'm glad the story had a happy ending.
    Excellent book
I couldn't stop listening! The book was very well written and read very well too. I can't wait to fill my library with all of Ginger Scott's books!

    Members Reviews:
Just as good as the first one
Again the narration was spot on. Great story and brought in more characters for some great spin offs with Hannah's brothers. Hope they get the next one out soon.
    Definitely Worth the Risk
    Any additional comments?
What a great story of two broken individuals coming together to heal each other. I enjoyed the evolving relationship between Hanna and Stephen. They seem to fit together in just the right way to make each other stronger. There was a lot going on in this book vs. the first book. A lot of outside forces trying to keep our H/h apart which fed my need for some heart-stopping suspense. Thanks Claudia for a great book and I cannot wait for JT!! ;)
DON'T RISK MISSING THIS AWESOME LISTEN
Stephen and Hannah are both haunted by vicious tragedies in their pasts but while Stephen only has mental scars of his trauma Hannah has the physical scars too that constantly remind her never to trust. But when she meets Stephen, the very handsome businessman who keeps pursuing her, she starts to let her guard down.... but there are heartbreaking consequences that follow for these two loveable characters.
Trust, loyalties, love and second chances come into play but the plot holds drama, angst and bitter betrayals too when greed and jealousies have an evil plan of their own. It's a beautiful romance that's so touching and heartfelt, with great secondary family members all willing to help two lost souls find love and, despite all the obstacles standing in their way, these two lovers deserve their very HEA ending.
Worth a credit? Great narration, dual POV's, very addictive listening and YES, so far, these McKinney Brothers all seem very creditworthy.
    Struggled to finish
What would have made Worth the Risk better?
The book started out okay and then just kept getting worse. Why all the high reviews. The storyline was so unrealistic and no character development. All the trauma was so overboard
Has Worth the Risk turned you off from other books in this genre?
    No. Just the author
    Which scene was your favorite?
    None
You didnt love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
    The beginning
    Loved it
Intense... made me cry a couple of times and surprised me with the story. The beginning of the book was a little slow for me but it gets better and better as you listen to it...

    Chosen for Power
I like women with power. This book is a breath of fresh air. I enjoyed every minute of it. Family, friends and business made this a favorite.
This could be the start of a good series
I enjoyed the simplicity of Kathleen Brooks Bluegrass series. She created engaging characters. She continues with Women of Power. But I was hoping for a little more. The female lead falls oh so fast and the romance is rushed. But I am hoping that book 2 is better. I enjoy the premise of woman taking the lead.
I am not a fan of how Amy McFadden narrates this story. She is just okay and sometimes the female voices a whiny. Steamy not so much.
    Uneven
Where does Chosen for Power rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
Better than some, not as good as others.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
The story start as Cinderella then moves into a business takeover and identity theft. A more plausible romance or getting immediately into the intrigue with the romance as background would have made more sense.
Have you listened to any of Amy McFaddens other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes. I like Amy McFadden except when she does a Booklyn accent.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No. It didn't grab me initially.
    too light for me
The plot was as thin as the romance. If you want the lightest possible read then read on.
    Well done!!!!
I already read this book so I loved it so having it as a audio book was a no brainer the narrator did an excellent job.

This was a good book with a touch of murder mystery drama on the side. I thought it was well written and the narrators did an excellent job. While the story lost a little flavor and fell a little flat for me at the very end I would still recommend it and is worth the credit/$.

    Under Tree (Book 7 1/2), Confession (book 10 1/2)
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, I recommend this series, plus Grace Valley and Thunder Point (all related stories)
What was one of the most memorable moments of Tis the Season?
Under the Cristmas Tree (book 7 1/2) is continued in book 8: Forbidden Falls where you here the store of the pups mother. And in book 11: Promise Canyon, more about the Vet.
Midnight Confessions (book 10 1/2) the story starts with the Foley Family in book 4, A Virgin River Christmas, continues in book 10 Moonlight Road, and ends with the brother's story in Midnight Confessions.
What about Therese Plummers performance did you like?
The narration was great. Perfect. She brings all the characters to life and makes them feel like real people.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I love it when all of the family members are accounted for. Its like all the questions are answered (you know "what happened to so n' so"). that's just a over all good feeling.
    Any additional comments?
I hope Robyn Carr adds more books to the "Virgin River" series.
    Robyn Carr novella
I just completed the novella by Robyn Carr, and also the Virgin River and Thunder Point Series on Audible. Very much enjoyed listening!
    I like the first story
I couldnt get into the second story. The main character wasnt likable at all. I dont buy that someone would fall for a pissed off woman that just complains about her ex.
    True to Form
I love Robyn Carr's Virgin River series. These short stories do not disappoint. They are true to form, containing likeable characters, satisfactory plot, enough characterization to feel like they are already acquaintances. Worth the credit if you like her books. Plus...Christmas!

    Publisher's Summary:
Two childhood playmates grow into more than just friends in number-one New York Times best-selling author Jude Deverauxs full-length romantic novel based on her short story of the same name.
In the hugely popular, New York Times best seller A Holiday of Love, Jude Deveraux wrote a novella about two kids playing matchmakers - Eli and Chelsea, best friends who were determined to find true love for Elis bighearted mother. But what happens when these ambitious children grow up? What exactly made Elis mother, Miranda, fall in love with Frank all those years ago? And how does that affect their future together?
Eli and Chelsea lost touch with each other over the years, until Eli bought a house in his fathers hometown of Edilean, Virginia, and invited Chelsea for a visit. She had her own life, and was certain that a childhood friendship couldn't be anything more, but she went nonetheless - and found herself quite unprepared for the changes she saw in Eli. And neither of them were prepared to run into a mystery, with a family that needed to be rescued. Now, just like when they were children, they must join together to straighten out a very big problem. The question is what happens after the mystery is solved; they are very different people - so can they stay together?
Combining love and passion with sweet, unexpected twists, and shedding new light on Miranda and Franks relationship, Change of Heart is an unforgettable addition to Deverauxs classic best-selling novels.

    Change of heart
I loved the novella about Frank and Miranda when I read it a while back. The story about Eli and Chelsea made it even better.. This was great and even better with narration.
    okay
the second portion was not what I would expect. plus it's not as great as it could have been.
    Not quite predictable.
It's not quite predictable , but with all love stories, it has to have a happy ending. I did enjoy it anyway. Very interesting hoe the two generations were handled.
Waste of credit and waste of time
What would have made Change of Heart better?
I usually love all kinds of books, but I think I have outgrown this kind of unbelievable and flat love story. The conversations are just not realistic, the whole story line feels forced. I don't think the narrator felt comfortable reading the story, and definitely some of the more "passionate" parts, because she might have not believed the story line to be plausible herself.
What character would you cut from Change of Heart?
Abby and her watching them break into the storage hut.
    Ms Deveraux is a favorite!
I love all her books! They are brain candy for me. This two part-er was a fun way to fill a road trip. Predictable, but fun!

Tracie Peterson never fails to deliver !
I never fail to enjoy a Tracie Peterson novel. Her development of character , the challenges that they face and the way they face them always holds one's attention. Once in awhile something is predictable, but there's always plenty of twists and turns to hold one's attention. This author never fails to deliver a good read....and I love the audible versions!
    teenage emotions
This book wasnt for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
People who are into romance novels might appreciate this book.
Would you ever listen to anything by Tracie Peterson again?
I will probably not pursue this author. Rather than her writings maturing, this seems to be evidence of falling back on a more immature theme.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
I was disappointed with this book. I went back several times to see if I missed something when chapter changes didn't make sense or have flow. I kept waiting for something unpredictable or suspenseful to occur, which it never did.
    Any additional comments?
I categorize this book as a predictable teenage romance novel. The plot was difficult to follow audibly in spite of my having read the first two books of the series. The previous books held some suspense and less romance.
    Entertaining Listen
I haven't listened to the first two audiobooks in this series yet but after listening to this one, I think I'll get them.
Privileged heroine Jessica Atherton may have lost her previous beau but she's got plenty suitors now. One is the rather insistent Harrison Gable, a lawyer who lays his attention on thick and a little too much. But Jessica is beginning to feel like she needs to get married and start a family, and Harrison obviously is interested in her.
Austin Todd, is also new to Jessica's Texas town. Previously a Secret Service agent, he's lost his entire family and is harboring some deep hurts. Although he's begun work as as a Texas Ranger cattle inspector he becomes involved in a dangerous case of forged gold certificates that involve Jessica's close friends.
Jessica has a huge character arc. At the beginning I was somewhat put off by her, because she was an anti-hero--spoiled, self-centered, and privileged.

From a remarkable new voice in suspenseful women's fiction comes an emotionally searing drama about a woman who risks her life to discover the devastating truth about her family.
Humanitarian aid worker Gia Andrews chases disasters around the globe for a living. It's the perfect lifestyle to keep her far away from her own personal ground zero. Sixteen years ago, Gia's father was imprisoned for brutally killing her stepmother. Now he's come home to die of cancer, and she's responsible for his care - and coming to terms with his guilt.
Gia reluctantly resumes the role of daughter to the town's most infamous murderer, a part complete with protesters on the lawn and death threats that are turning tragedy into front-page news. Returning to life in small-town Tennessee involves rebuilding relationships that distance and turmoil have strained, though finding an emotional anchor in the attractive hometown bartender is certainly helping Gia cope.
As the past unravels before her, Gia will find herself torn between the stories that her family, their friends and neighbors, and even her long-departed stepmother have believed to be real all these years. But in the end, the truth - and all the lies that came before - may have deadlier consequences than she could have ever anticipated.

    Wonderful
Book kept me interested from beginning to end. Found myself staying up late often to listen to the good part, but the whole book was the good part.
    Awesome
Suspense from front cover to back! Lies, betrayal, lust, love and packed full of old fashioned family drama. Well written and performed
