oh the DRAMA

So many twists & turns.... a little "unreal" but makes for a wild story! It's amazing how much thought we put into things without ASKING what happened or what the deal is.

Loved Madoc! I thought he was hilarious & I loved Fallons no BS attitude. And of course appearances by Tate & Jared! I can't wait to hear Jax story!

I loved Bully and Until you - this book had the same love/hate to it as those books did. It was almost exactly the same which could have turned me off but it didn't.

Good story

Would you consider the audio edition of Seducing Lauren to be better than the print version?

Did not read the print version but i prefer audio as it allows me to work and listen at the same time.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ty- A lawyer and bad boy in one hand, sweet and sensitive in the other.

What does Deacon Lee and Elizabeth Louise bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

Both are great narrators and I think they did a pretty good job with this mild listen.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were a few good parts but this book did not pull me in and suck me under like I love my books to do.

If you have listened to the first installment with Cara and Josh and liked it, I recommend you listen to this installment to find out what comes next with these hot males.

The narrators helped the book feel much more real. You get to hear it the way that Kristen's intended it to be.

I like the book title just fine :). I find it hard to find the books made movies when they change the title.

Ive been a Kristen Proby fan since I read the Seattle series, then went onto the Boudreaux series. I have to admit that I stayed away from these books for a while because I saw it was from her earlier days and the book covers didnt look much like the series that I was used to so I assumed it wouldnt be something that I loved I was SOO wrong. This book was amazing!!! Kristen never ceases to amaze me. Her writing skills are spot on so detailed. I felt like I was watching a movie. Lauren and Tys story was great! Lauren was a divorced writer with an abusive ex-husband that wasnt done tormenting her and Ty was a lawyer and small town acquaintance. Their love formed quickly after the divorce was final and Ty felt it was finally time to make his intentions known. There are tons of drama like catty new girlfriends, attempted murder, break-in, millionaire females and amazing male and female characters. I love listening to the process of Lauren writing, I imagine that it must be how Kristen writes talking to her characters as she goes along. This is a MUST MUST read.

Beautiful writing

Beautiful writing with a compelling plot and nothing cliche about it. That ending, oh how it had me squeal with delight!

The narrator has a very youthful voice that suites the female MC exceptionally well. The only complaint I have is that it's a bit hard to distinguish between characters at times. But overall it was an enjoyable listening experience and a credit well spent.

Intense.

Very intense. Kept me on the edge of my seat. Didn't guess the ending. Liked the characters even though they were flawed. Made them more real.

Oh the Angst!

This is my first book by this author and I am obsessed. I do love a good student/teacher trope, so this was a no brainer for me and I couldn't have been happier with this pick.

Most books I read or listen to, have the happy beginning, the angsty middle and then the crescendo and then you are given a peak into their new happy life.

Unteachable was not this way. The reader is dragged through the mud, picked up and cleaned off, just to be dragged all over again all the way until the very last few words. Although you get your happy ending, it is a long and painful journey. Elliot Wake (formerly Leah Raeder) is a beautiful wordsmith, making me feel as though these characters were my friends and I knew them inside and out. I so desperately wanted them to be happy and more times than not... I had no idea what the happy outcome should be. I absolutely loved being completely consumed in this world.

Grace Grant is fantastic. She gives each character a voice (literally and figuratively) and her unique tone and timber makes me want to listen to her all day long.

Definitely worth a credit. Best book I've read/listened to all year.

I could rate this book with those of Eileen Hildebrand and Nancy Thayer. I rate them with several books they've written because it had a fabulous storyline. Shirlee had me from chapter one and I didn't want to put the book down!! Intriguing, fun, family all these authors captivate me with there stories. Passion of their work shows; I highly recommend.

Which character as performed by Eileen Stevens was your favorite?

Eileen Stevens did an amazing job with all the characters but she certainly did Zuzu in total perfection. My husband listened to the book with me and loved the narrator as much as I did.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Oh my I laughed out loud many times!! All the characters captured my heart!!!

I will definitely listen to this book and The House On Main Street again!! I also suggest since the above is the first book buy it!!! Both go hand in hand and both will captivate you!! It's a joy to read/listen to a story such as this-HOME it's HOME!!!

AS SWEET AS ICE TEA IN THE SUMMER

If you have not read the first book, "Broken," then I suggest you back up and start reading that book first as you will be lost since "Broken Dreams" follows, and starts where "Broken" ended. It has been a while since I read Broken and I really wish I would have listened to it again before venturing into this one. However, after a while I was right on board with the characters & where all the drama had left off.

First of all, be prepared for a fabulous audiobook. Shirl Rae is excellent. She is one of my favorite female narrators. I especially love the southern accent she provided for Reed. And, NELSON Hobbs.OMGHOT-SOUTHERN-MAN-VOICE-ALERT. What a gorgeous voice Nelson has! I need to find more audiobooks he performs in! The combination of both Shirl and Nelson made this one sumptuous listen!

As far as the story is concerned, the love development between Reed and Courtney is low on the angst and high on the fun and romance. In fact, this is what I consider an indulgence for the helpless romantic. Reed and Courtney do face personal issues and conflicts brought on by outside sources, however, they are resolved or addressed either quickly or within their proper timing in the plot development. But, the romance between Reed and Courtney is fun, sexy, cute and continuous. The best part is that if you liked Layton and Whitely from "Broken," then you will adore this book because not only does it explore Reed & Courtney's love story, but simultaneously gives you more of Layton and Whitely which is awesome! What a perfect combination for two best friends from NYC, Whitely and Courtney, to fall in love with their gorgeous southern gentlemen, Layton and Reed. This is a sweet romance that takes readers into the beautiful landscape of the Texan countryside, to the range riding horses, to the vibe of dancing in hot night clubs, and two-stepping in town circles.

I recommend this listen/read when readers need a break from more ansty, drama-injected reads. It is all smooth sailing and as Reed & Courtney would put it.it passes the "swoon-worthy" test.

Do not bother with this series

What would have made Avoiding Responsibility better?

The story was not told start to finish. You would be current, then 2 months back, then 6 months back, then current, then 3 months back and then back to the middle again. It did not jump in accordance to the story well. Very annoying.

What was most disappointing about K. A. Lindes story?

The character was to needy and to easily ready to jump into bed with everyone. Irritating how she thought so little of herself and has no will power to not sleep with the men in her life.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Greg Abbey?

Yes, the narration part of the book was fine. It is not his fault that the story was a little tragic and boring

MITCH!!! You are making me crazy!!!

Okie Dokie...here we go...if you are looking at book 8 I assume you've listened to books 1-7. If so, you know what to expect, hot sex, lots of it, a not so plausible story-line (who cares) pretty good character development and did I say HOT??? Yes, in deed that is true. I found this story to actually have some amount more meat than some of the previous, not all, but some were more sex less story. This one definitely had a great mix of both but had a good story line that was interesting and fast paced.

WHY change narrators on book 8 of a 5 star series?

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would use the same narrator as the previous books...when you've established a ton of recurring characters and they all sound different in book 8?? WTH? And why use someone who sounds 14 with a stuffy nose??

What did you like best about this story?

I like the whole series, but this may not be one I keep.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Veronica Meunch?

Lexi Maynard, as in the other books.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

This series is awesome, but this narrator change has really turned me off.

Try not to compare too much to rest of series

This was a good story. The narrator was fine. I will have to admit I rated it lower because of my experiences with two of the characters mentioned in the other books. Mainly Callies character has been portrayed in other books as sassy and hard to handle. Don't feel we got any of that here. Plus they kept mentioning how hard to handle she use to be.

Another winner from this talented author

This audiobook seals the deal, I have become totally hooked on anything Ms Reus writes.

This story is part of the authors series Red Stone Security, and if like me , you havent read them, rest assure that its a stand alone.

The main characters are Kell and Charlotte. He is a member of the Red Stone Security company, a former SEAL and FBI agent who a year ago spent an unforgettable night with Charlotte. Charlotte, whose deceased husband had been an FBI agent , left that night when Kell made a confession. I must add that the narrator did an excellent job with the voices and his intonation.

I only listen to audiobooks while I'm doing my household chores each week and honestly, I try not to spend too much time in those chores each week. As a result, it can sometimes take me over a month to get through a full audiobook. That's a bit too much time to invest, but that's where this audio was perfect for me. I'm a romantic suspense girl and with just over 3 hours of audio on the unabridged version of this story, it was perfect for me.

And in this book, that shortened story worked for me simply because Kell and Charlotte have their history behind them. Kell loved Charlotte for years, but she was married to his best friend. A best friend that she found out was cheating on her after his death. In the midst of the confusion of her husband's death, they got swept away with desire and had a one night stand. Kell wanted it to be so much more. Charlotte couldn't handle that and fled.

Bound is the inaugural book in Lorelei James' new series, Mastered.

If you haven't read Lorelei James Rough Riders series start immediately! I had read them years ago when they came out and loved them.

Ronin is a strong sexual alpha that keeps himself completely closed off from everyone. Hes very secretive and this causes the obvious issues within their relationship.

Amery is a slight doormat that wants to be a strong female. They both have ex's that did a number on them. Amery has the added benefit of having a strict religious upbringing. She struggles with the feeling of being 'dirty' and unworthy when it comes to certain things specifically sex.

Side cast: Amery's so called friends didn't seem like very good friends to me and more often than not pissed me right the hell off! They got mad if she suggested a change in venue for their night out and all but attacked her about Ronin. Not cool! However Ronin's friends were what you would expect from a strong silent hero.

BDSM/bondage has been done redone and done again. Reading Bound was a more refreshing version to an old tune. His big secret seemed obvious to me but I didn't expect the twist, very nice.

They stared at each other, the attraction between them getting stronger each time they were together "you think its a good idea for us to be alone in your penthouse?" "Yes, because the first time I fuck you I'll need more than an hour."

A nice build-up of sexual tension in the beginning then BAM they combust into a hot sexual meeting that curled my toes. There was the right amount of sex to keep you hot and bothered but not detract from the story.

"The other reason I like your hair down is that I've fantasized about having these silken tresses wrapped around my fist as I'm fucking you"

The ending is a bit of a letdown but I have some hope the story will redeem itself since there is a sequel Unwound. This kept it from being a higher rated read for me. It's hard for me to pinpoint what it was that frustrated me about the ending.
