Enticing story to the end!

Where does On a Night Like This rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

Because the story line is so good I'd say this audiobook would rank in my top 10.

What was one of the most memorable moments of On a Night Like This?

When Aiden finds Sarah at her house after she finds the box of pictures and sweeps her off to Redding for an escape.

What does Robin Rowan bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

Well, I have to say I was not very happy with Ms. Redding's performance. The women often sounded pouty or too your for their ages. Many of the men were dramatically too snappish or angry. In fact she made everyone too drama filled much of the time. I have listened to many books now and there is just no reason to have the characters sound so poised for dramatics so much of the time. It would do Barbara Freethy's books a boon to find a new narrator As her stories are very good and her characters are very likeable.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There are many but I suppose to pick one it might be when Aiden and Sarah go to visit Kyles Wife.

This book has a story that moves right along. it kept me listening and wanting more. It ended leaving some dangling ended that makes me want to move quickly on to the next book in the series.

Love all of Fools Gold

Will read all of Susan Mallery's books. Fun stories. Full of fun characters. Keep them coming. The setting is wonderful. I would love to live there!

Good characters but the narration was annoying

LIked the characters, and the story was okay. Unfortunately the narrator worked too hard to pronounce every word so clearly that it made for a stiff and unnatural reading.

Fool's Gold Magic-Good for a smile

I have enjoyed all of the Fools Gold books and this book was no disappointment. The relationships in the Stryker family are complicated and imperfect. It was nice seeing the three friends again (Heidi, Charlie and Annabel) and finally meeting Evie. Her relationship with the family is heartbreaking. I love that it wasnt glossed over nor was a magic wand waived and everything all better. As always, it is easy to relate and understand Mallerys characters. I couldnt help but fall in love with Dante and Evie. Dante is such a wonderful imperfect hero. I couldnt help but get mad at him along with the heroine and forgive him along with the heroine. The only down side was the book ended.

Would you listen to A Fool's Gold Christmas again? Why?

This was not my first Fool's Gold audiobook, it's nice to read or listen to a book that's not all bad language and sex. A little steamy sex being mentioned is a good thing.

It was a bit strange about the elephant but a nice touch to bring in about Jesus loving all of God's creatures.

What made the experience of listening to Spellbound Falls the most enjoyable?

I love Janet Chapman books for their nice and slow pace, there are of course some up and down but you get to know the characters, and enjoy some of there pleasures. I do also like the fact that the love scenes are more about the people and less about the sex, nowadays some books are almost pornographic, and when I read I often skip those parts if it's too much or too often, sex may sell, but not always, there is a thing as too much info.

Totally loved it!

This is my 2nd book by this author. I was hoping that book two would not be let down and I am so glad to say it was not. I really enjoyed the story of Marcus Sullivan and Nicola. It was charming with a inelligent story line. And, yes this author brings the heat. This is what I expect in a good modern day romance. The narrator really brings this story to live. Did I say I have already downloaded book #3. I am so glad I found this author, she is totally terriffic.

This is an enjoyable light hearted listen. Granted, this series doesn't arouse your mind intellectually but it does entertain. The story and romance was good and kept me interested. I got the first two in this series on sale so I'm actually glad I didn't use credits for them.

The Creeds are Back

This is my first book of Linda Lael Miller. I like the way she writes. I am a little fussy in how an author conveys conversation. I like the structure and flow of her stories. Jack Garrett is the perfect narrator for these Creeds. You have to just love bad/good boy Logan the oldest of the three Creed half brothers. They had a terrible, mean, drunken father who went through three wives, well to be fair one died of cancer, one was killed in a car crash and one had just had enough of life with Jake. Cassie a sort of Aunt of American Indian protected the boys when they were growing up. But, upon Jake's death the the three brothers had a really bad disagreement and they all went their separate ways leaving the ranch and their roots behind and living wild crazy lives. Logan, coming back to the ranch carries a law degree and a lot of money. He has returned to Stillwater Springs, Montana to defend the bad Creed name and set down roots. He intends to bring the other two brothers home again to settle their differences and to face their past and plan their futures. I enjoyed this book and I have already listened to Dylan and Tyler. This is a good series for those of us who love smart, strong men who are willing to learn from their past and have the desire to love a woman and the need of a family. Well worth your credit if this is your kind of book.

This book was seriously just "meh". I was honestly bored. The book spans about a week. They go from strangers to lovers to engaged and madly in love in about 1 week. seriously WTH. The ex-husband and the stepmother were kind of predictable. I was hoping for a sexy cowboy book and I was left wanting.

You mean I have to choose? The leads are so great but if I must choose I guess I would have to go Logan. He does what he does because it's the right thing to do, even it it's hard.

What does Jack Garrett bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

Oh my goodness!!!! This man's voice is to die for! I love that while he can change his voice for the different characters, he doesn't go overboard in trying to affect a high, fake female sound. I loved listening to his voice so much I found myself having to go back so I could hear the story itself...not just his voice.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was a little worried I would find the bok as disappointing as Brad and Meg's book. But since Logan's story was next and I thought it might begin filling in some of the blanks because I had already read another Creed book from ahead.

Eroctica or romance?

I was a little surprised that this was an erotic novel (didnt get that from the summary) but once you get passed that, the story line is actually very good and it keeps one guessing. Unfortunally it is also a little repetitive - and no not the sex scenes, but the background story is retold so many times that it actually gets to be a little anoying and in the end the suspense does not really get resolved. It seems that you have to read the next book to find out what really is going on (havent done that yet, so not entirely sure that you will know after that one either - since there is three male characters tied to the plot, and only two books available at this time)

But still - I will read or listen to the next (two?) books in order to find out what is going on and who is behind the killings.

I liked the danger and suspense the sex part is wild but hey I still liked it. Maybe they should put a warning on for the explicit sexually part. As they do with others. But if you have read Loras other books you know they are part of her books. I just listened to the 2nd book. Deadly Sins and it's better than book one. But yes it is very sexually graphic. But in some books mixed with the suspense and danger it all comes together for me. I like most of her books.

The characters are interesting and drew me in, the narrator is pretty good and the sex scenes are graphic and fairly hot.

Slow Paced

I found the story to be a bit too sweet and sorely lacking in the angst department. I liked the narrator, characters, friendships and the premise of the story but it was just so slow paced and boring at times that I couldnt wait to finish and move on to a new book.

What did you love best about A Slice of Heaven?

The characters are real and although age is an issue in all of them, I liked the story line.

No, but I am not crazy about her. Her voice is older than most and the series is about feeling young. Not one of my favorite narrators. I will not be looking for books she is performing.

I like the strong and loyal relationship the Sweet Magnolia women share. I'll probably continue with this series.

not your typical romance

If you are looking for Hot and Steamy, you are in the wrong place. This is a G rated romance, but a beautiful story none the less. It is an experience told in the perspective of two women, one much older and one younger. I loved having two stories woven into one. I laughed, I cried, and felt inspired. It is rare to find a story that warms your heart, makes you think, and drives home a beautiful message.

Pure junk.

I listen to a lot of Books on tape - about 3 per week. This is the WORST I have ever heard. It is not a romance book. Unless you call three kisses a romance. It would better be described as a book about running from huricane Katrina, and not even good at that. BORING...BORING...BORING

Please do not waste your time....

This is my first and probably last Danielle Steel book. It was extremely repetitive and lacked character and story development. I had to make myself finish this book.

I listened 10 hours waiting for a plot to develop, shame on me.

So much repetition!

Repeat, repeat, repeat! This book could've been much shorter if not for all the repeating! A pretty good story line but just not terrific. Reminds me why I quit reading Danielle Steele a long time ago.

Beyond pathetic

Worst book I've encountered, can't imagine who writes this trash. Would give it zero stars if I could.

Boring

This book was too repetitive and the idea that the main character was "a big girl" was just beat into the listener. The story was thin on plot and the author seems to be create this tale of woe about this big girl and how she overcomes her problems. Throughout the story she is less than 20 lbs overweight but is characterized as a big girl and she has major drama over her weight. The last half hour she overcomes all her problems in a way that just seems ridiculous. This book is just silly and overdramatizes the main characters issues. I just don't think 20 lbs qualifies as a big girl and I found it insulting. 20 lbs is not ideal but it does not cause major psychological issues either IMHO and that is the whole basis of this book.
