BEAUTIFUL! HEARTWARMING! FOLLOW UP TO BOOK ONE!!!

All In was a excellent heart-warming follow up to book one (Full Tilt.) After having my heart broken in book one, I was happy Kacey and Theo were able to find solace, and love in each other.

Book two picks up closely where book one ends. Kacey's is having a hard time dealing with her loss, and can no longer handle being in the same city. Without telling anyone, Kacey moves to New Orleans, and reverts back to old habits, music and booze. She's drowning in sorrow, and drinks to numb the pain. She writes, sings, and plays her guitar at a couple of the local bars, and becomes known as the drowning girl.

Theo isn't doing much better. He's struggling with the pain of losing his brother, Jonah. He also carries the guilt of not being able to uphold one of the promises he made to his brother, and for the rejection he feels from his father not accepting his career choice. Theo is a tattoo artist who goes to college to earn a degree in business management in hopes of opening his own tattoo shop. Theo's brother believed in his skills, and left him the money to start the tattoo shop, but his father doesn't approve of him being a tattoo artist.

Six months after Kacey vanished, Theo receives a call from someone concerned about her. He finally has the opportunity to uphold his promise.......to take care of Kacey. He flies to New Orleans, and helps Kacey recover, and kick her drinking habit. They become close, develop feelings for each other, but try to fight them. When they finally give in, they start a long distance relationship. Theo's family, and Jonah's closest friends are reluctant to accept their relationship, but do come around.

This story was filled with many heart warming moments, but the most touching scene, and my favorite was Theo's dad visiting his tattoo shop..... that scene was priceless!

The narrators did an awesome job, and delivered on the different emotions. All In is well worth the time, credit or sale. While this story can be listened too as a stand alone, if you have not listened to book one, I recommend listening to it first.

Awesome Listen!!!

This book was so good! This is a standalone listen, yet part of a series. The link to this series is Club X and mention of a certain few characters. Each book spotlights a different set of couples and their story. I love that each book has a happy ending and does not end in a cliffhanger. This book (and series) opened my eyes to various aspects to bdsm. Trust is huge. Lauren Landish and Willow Winters write seamlessly together. They are very talented. The narrators (Douglas Berger and Brooke Hayden) did a great job with this duel narration. I loved getting into the minds of Lilly and Joseph. The narration adds so much more than just reading the book (which I previously did) can deliver on the feelings and emotions, and excitement. My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it. I was voluntarily provided with this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, narrator, and/or publisher. Highly recommend this book.

Loved it

This series is dark but so far I really like it. Each book is a stand alone. The only complaint I have with this book is that it didnt tell where the other place his father had under surveillance was which is almost as bad as a cliffhanger!

Bad guys and romance

Tough guy gentleman falls for virgin who wants to be disciplined. There is more to this story than what I expected. Good job to all of you who made this book.

Selfless + Selfish = HEA

This is a wonderful story of how two people on completely different life journeys cross paths to have a significant impact on each other. Nial loved and lost so she filled her life with work and anything else that would mask the pain of her loss. Lach never loved for fear of dying young and leaving others to grieve his death. Nial gives of herself selflessly to help others and Lach seeks selfish pleasures before his imminent demise. Lach seeks and finds Nial only to discover that there is a connection between them that neither can deny. They eventually find that they must each follow their own paths to find a way to a future together. I'm glad there are many people who work to make the lives of others better but at what point does your happiness take precedence.

Summer and Tyler are an awesome duo and I love how they brought this book to life. Summer made Nial's pain and angst a real thing for me.

Jasinda Wilder is one of my favorite authors and this books shows why that is. This book is absolutely worth the credit.

Loved Kyle's Story!

Another great story from Sawyer Bennett! I was hoping to get more on Kyle's story after his appearance in Wicked Horses. He may have a dark past and thinks he's lost site of who he was before going undercover and spending years being someone he didn't know he could be. But deep down I knew he was a good guy. In this book he tries to hide behind the standoffish front but Jane is to resistant for him. She is sweet and happy and knows she sees something more in Kyle than he shows. This is exactly what I wanted in Kyle's story!

Not My Favorite

I've loved these books, but Maria was too irritating for me. I also don't understand the willful stupidity when it comes to self preservation.

ENJOYABLE

I liked the sexy story, but I would prefer another narrator, with a hint of a Spanish accent since Maria is part Spanish. I enjoyed the story as a whole, how Maria and Eli were brought together. It coincided with the other Trinity series book perfectly even though Ms. Carlan didn't plan to write more books for the series.

Couldn't finish!

Let me say I tried, I really did. I stopped and took a break and tried again ( I did this a couple of times) but I couldn't get into the book. First the setting is in Australia but read without the accent. Second I am animal person but this took it to an extreme. And third when they started using pet toys as sex toys I stopped for good and returned the book. This book was not for me.

You had me at...

I could not put it down! Well, at least until the mini plot twist. I was so thrown by it that I had to take a short break to say to myself "WTF". Once I calmed I was able resume touching it.

Really the writing is beyond 5 stars. It was especially cute to hear all the English ways of saying American things. Not sure what's up with the writing as business but Tess & Pepper are spot on. I cannot wait until the next installment of ear porn.

And all the fur babies tugging at my heart strings. this really was a big part of making this epic love story so darn epic & irresistible.

CJ BLOOM was the vessel as Vesper. Sultry,smart, sweet & down right naughty.

Eric Michael Summerer is my new favorite male narrator. move over Sebastian York. Mama's got a new sexier, hotter & sweeter pet. Call me as I'd love to touch it, relax I mean your voice.

enjoyable characters

I enjoyed the lessons and story but i do prefer no sex in a novel.

The story has enjoyable characters yet awkward voices at times.

Amazing as ever!!

I don't do a lot of pre ordering, but this is one series I do. As soon as one comes out, I already long for the next one. The third book will help you to think about what is important and what is success truly!! Love the narrator and glad it is the same one as the other two.

Before your very eyes .....

Good follow up to the other two books in this series and I guess the fourth sisters story won't be far off. A fair romantic story with a reasonable story line moving at a good pace . Quite enjoyable and a must read after the first two books . Recommended

Mixed review

When I think about this audiobook, I will forever think of it fondly and will most likely listen to it again at some point.

Melanie Moreland took such a simple idea of neighbors meeting over the fence and added so many interesting layers that I just loved it. There was drama, hot romance, humor, action, sweet love... so much good.

The part that I had took issue with was the main female character. I can understand not having self confidence and, after having it beat into your head your whole life, having a hard time believing differently when you meet someone who sees you as you truly are. However, a good 1/4 of the book was repetitive in nature with this theme. I think it could have been dealt with once and then we could have moved on. To have it be such a prominent theme of the book when there was so many other amazing things going on, it felt redundant and disingenuous.

That being said, it's totally worth a listen. I sped it up to 1.25 through the middle when it was lagging but after 3/4 of the way through, I was completely hooked again and couldn't wait to finish. I especially appreciated the epilogue with the texts seeing as that was their beginning. It was so sweet and funny.

John Lane and Tatiana Sokolov both were fantastic. My only issue is with John Lane and his penchant to pronounce the -ES at the end of a word like -IES. For example; messages was messagies. And it was like that for every -ES word and it absolutely drove me batty. Take that away and I really enjoyed both of their performances.

My cheeks hurt from smiling!

Over The Fence is a wonderful story told with heart, humor and hotness!!! I love Melanie Moreland's writing - she brings such great stories to life. My cheeks literally hurt from smiling at the character's banter. I highly recommend this story!!

I'm nuts for GNat and his ChefGirl!

When I saw the cover of this book, I sort of thought it was going to be a cute RomCom. And although there is definitely plenty of humor, I was pleasantly surprised to find so much depth and emotion in this story.

Nathan and Kourtney are neighbors who get to know each other from across a tall fence. Without seeing each other or meeting in person until Nathan has to jump to Kourtney's defense.

"I could hear the emotion behind her words. Why was she so overwhelmed by a simple gesture of kindness? She handed them out to me daily without even thinking."

Kourtney seems painfully shy, but underneath her shyness is so much hurt and pain.

Contrived story, flat characters

I kept listening hoping it would get better but it never did. The storyline tried to be heartfelt with a tragic backstory but it sounded like a 15 year old girl's diary entries. I wanted to be sympathetic to the main character and her struggle to overcome a terrible past, but the characters and their interactions completely lacked depth. I was never able to feel anything but embarrassed for the story. It had good potential, it just came together like a wooden Pinocchio attempt at what it was trying to be. In spite of that the narrator is truly talented.

This is the first book I've read by this author, and I plan to read more. A very good story with well-developed characters. Very well written.

Perfect blend

The Talking Tree is a perfect blend of soul wrenching pain, moving on, duty to family, & true love. The author also threw in several unexpected twists. No cliffhanger!! The audiobook has good sound quality & the narrator did a great job!

Another fun installment in the BKI series. My only complaint is the mental detours the characters take in the middle of conversations, lol. By the time they stop woolgathering I've forgotten what they were talking about!
