I am emotionally satisfied, exhausted and thrilled with this listen. It was so suspenseful and one of the best listens I have had in a while. This was worth five credits. The devils number should have been called so many times but instead this cold hearted bastard was left standing. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat. With an ending that will leave you wanting more

Wow Twist and Turns ahead!

What made the experience of listening to El Diablo [The Devil] the most enjoyable?

I fell in love with this book from Chapter 1. I loved the duet performance with both Lauren and Marico.

Martinez, he was sweet and was always looking for the women in his life.

El Diablo performed by Marico was perfect, his Spanish was perfect. Marico made El Diablo swoon worthy!

I would love to see this book as a movie. Boss would be the tag line.

This books starts off with a bang! but toward the middle it slows down. What ever you do don't stop the ending is so with it.

Stunned Speechless!

I was STUNNED, AWED, and left SPEECHLESS by both the MIND BLOWING story and STELLAR narration! It was PHENOMENAL and I freakin LOVE IT!

M. Robinson delivered an incredible story, but it was the characters I fell in love with. I really appreciated how she development them. We get a lot of the history first, and I liked the characters were not developed by going back and forth from past to present. We get a front row seat, and watch the events in Martinez's life unfold, and shape him into "El Diablo." Then she brings in Lexi's character at the right time. It was a flawless execution in developing the plot and characters. This is the kind of story that will stick with you well after you finish it!

The narration was the icing! Marcio's performance literally gave me chills form how well he portrayed the characters. The Spanish dialogue was smooth, and had a natural flow, the accents were flawless, and the pitch and tones were perfect. His acting talent shined through loudly, and he brought each scene to life. From the cold hearted killer to the lover, his performance really did this story justice! Lauren delivered an outstanding performance as well, it's just a big portion of this story is from Martinez's POV, and his character makes this story. Lauren's voice was pleasant, and she did an amazing job with the emotions. You could feel the anguish Lexi went through and my heart broke for her character.

Was it really pretend?

I really liked the storyline and the real Jackson that surfaced with Liana and Martin. The reading by Jem Matzan was flawless and the different voice inflections made it believable.

The only thing that was deceiving was the title Bride by Contract because it was for a pretend girlfriend not a bride.

Romance with gentle humor.

Fun light-hearted story with gentle humor added to the romance. Enjoyed the ending. Loved Charlie & Oliver!

PLEASE never let this man narrate again.

Steamy Enemies to Lovers Romance!

What made the experience of listening to Checkmate: This Is War the most enjoyable?

I loved the narration by Lia Langola! She did an amazing job bringing all the different characters to life! I was really impressed by her male voices and found her performance very engaging. She captured the emotions of the characters perfectly.

What did you like best about this story?

I am a huge fan of the enemies to lovers trope, so this was a great story to listen to. It was hard to like Travis at first since he was such a manwhore, but the characters definitely grew on me and had me rooting for their happily ever after. The back and forth witty banter was fantastic! This is book 1 in the duet, so I can't wait to listen to book 2!

Which character as performed by Lia Langola was your favorite?

My favorite was actually Alyssa! She was so fun to hate and was exactly how I imagined she would sound. Another favorite was Travis, who was also voiced flawlessly.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Good Narration

While this book is written in dual POV, it's narrated just by a single female voice. She does a good job of making Travis's voice more gritty. Her male voice also has a certain a**hoIe vibe to it which is very fitting for the character. She does a great job getting the emotions, the quivers, excitement etc in her voice and spoken words down.

As far as the story itself goes, I felt a bit of a disconnect with the characters. They often act quickly out of anger and explode with emotions. Sometimes their emotions and feelings seem conflicting and not consistent for the characters. Both main characters are demanding and hypocritical with their expectations. Viola is a priss and often acts entitled and immature. With Travis, it bothered me that he continued a sexual relationship with two women during the same time frame. He doesn't stop one relationship because it's a sticky situation and also because he's a guy so it's too hard to say no? Hmm. That's not really attractive. That doesn't make me root for him. Their back and forth hate/hate relationship felt like it just went on in circles.

Slow Slow Slow

The story unfolded so slowly you knew where it was going l-o-n-g before it got there. The male narrator spoke so slowly I kept looking to see if I had changed the speed on my player. Only reason I gave it one star is because it's nice to hear a guy treat his lady so well

Insta-Love

First, I have a really hard time with Insta-love and this book has about 2 conversations before they are saying they love each other. I just can not feel the connection between the characters when they only know what each other looks like and have a few meaningless conversations. Once I got past that and they were together a little while I really did start to like their relationship. I loved the reaction they both has at their "surprise". The second half of this book was really sweet and loving and sexy.

Narration was was great, I love Jeremy York and really enjoyed Sienna Frances too.

Those voices.....

The story was good but when Mr. York spoke as "Brooke" it was creepy. Ms. Frances (Brooke) talked too fast. This audible would have been better if both Mr. York and Ms. Frances spoke as their respective character.

MEH - GOOD PREMISE.. BUT A CRUSHING DISAPPOINTMENT

Who knows why with some books you can connect instantly to the characters and the story grabs your attention straight away and pulls you right in.. well unfortunately, with this listen, p I wasn't even remotely pulled in by either the boring characters or the lame storyline. Which was basically Caleb sees Brooke, quickly falls deeply in love with her and spends most of the book spouting out just how much he loves Brooke, worships Brooke, adores Brooke, Brooke has the perfect body, Brooke has a wonderful personality, poor Brooke what heartache she's had to endure, Brooke and he are just right together and his life without Brooke would be unthinkable.. see I bet you're already fed up with the many mushy musings by love struck Caleb - if not then try chapter.. after chapter.. after chapter of it. At one point I looked around for something to hurl into - coz it was just that sickly sweet.

There was a little bit of angst towards the end that maybe took up a chapter but other than that this was a tale of a rich Billionaire who instantly becomes besotted with an English woman who had, in the past, picked the wrong husband and tragedy, death and heartache ensued. So the stubborn woman wasn't going to make that mistake again..

I'll take a famous soccer player with a side of sizzle

Pheeeeeeeew if only stories like this happened in real life :) Warren is everything you want in a man; hot, rich, sweet, and incredibly charming! Camila is your typical strong determined heroine who tries to resist the temptation that is Warren. I really enjoyed this listen. The narrators were PERFECT and there wasn't too much angst. Lots of anticipation, and hoping that he'll get the girl, but not angsty to the point of wanting to slap the heroine like some books! It's the perfect combination of drama, comedy, and romance!!! I definitely recommend

Really good story. Though I would have liked hotter Nukie scenes I think this one is a keeper. I could listen to this one a few times a year. The narration is also is very very good. I want more books read by Zachary and Megan. You will Enjoy it.

Eye Candy on the Cover

I enjoyed this book if for nothing else that gorgeous body on the cover. So with that being said, my mind was very open to the words that lie within. I really liked Camila and Warren's story. Hot famous soccer player chasing the poor do-gooder pretty girl only to find out that their pasts are connected and not in a good way. These two have to find their way to loving each other despite the sins of the fathers. I really like that the reason of life and one's personal happiness wee emotions explored in this romance. Something we can all think about.

Zachary and Megan were amazing capturing the emotions of Camila and Warren but Megan's Warren sounds just a little to feminine. Overall this was an enjoyable listen.

audio was terrible choppy and chapters repeated

terrible audio version was like it was completely unedited. Coul not finish. The story was sweet. Everyday girl and famous soccer star but I could not finish due to horrible audio. Narrators were good but I was frustrated with repeat chapters and the 7 hour last chapter.

So I was ecstatic when it came out .

The Devil has found his endgame....

This is a dark, delicious, suspenseful, steamy, and even romantic story. Honor & Nassir have a complicated history, as the story progresss you can clearly see how equally matched they truly are together. Keelyn aka Honor is a firecracker with a ballsy attitude. She is strong, intelligent and sexually confident. Nassir is an enigmatic crime lord whose definitely super sexy badass man candy! He may be cold and calculating, but the author gives us every aspect of his dark and heartbreaking past which sculpted him into the man he is today. Nassir fell for Keelyn the moment he laid eyes on her working the pole at Spankys strip club. That's when he found his endgame. When the raw energy finally combusts between these two magnetic characters it makes this book even more extraordinary. Everything about this story bleed passion & seduction. Nassir could really be a silver-tongued devil when he wanted to and allow his vulnerability side show. Who knew the Devil could be so swoon worthy? And their chemistry is so hot, it burns up the pages. I dont want to give any of the storyline away, so I am just going to say this book book is worth the credit. Excellent dark story

Book was excellent and loved the characters. The female narrator was good at both voices, but the male was really only good at his character. It was okay though, and not too distracting.

Bossy alpha meets his match!

The idea of mail order brides seems to have caught readers imaginations lately! This story about a stubborn, bossy and egotistical man who inherited a hunting lodge business from his parents and sends away for a wife was entertaining. Add in an identical twin brother, a vegan bride-to-be and the wilds of Alaska and you have a good tale. Narration was well performed.

I loved this story. If you enjoy good plot twists, charactes that you can visualize and a little magic then you too will enjoy this book. It's gooey, sappy and creative. This book has some steamy romance and is a bit more edgy then a Hallmark movie which made it so much more enjoyable.

Loved it!

Wish there was a sequel . The story is scintillating, the narrator, a perfect match for the story's voice. Why did it take me so long to discover these writers? Or perhaps what took them so long to team up?! They are my new Christina Lauren---- and that is saying something!

Review: Roman Crazy, by Alice Clayton & Nina Bocci

What a great book. I've read and enjoyed Alice Clayton's work already, but haven't read any of Bocci's. What I can say after reading Roman Crazy is that having them write together was a great idea. While I don't have an example of Bocci's solo work to compare, I can tell there's a seamless writing style here. I know Clayton can do well-written characters and comedy. With this book, there's some amazing setting descriptions in there too. Not sure which author's responsible for that, but I want more. Italy was brought alive in this book.

Along with the setting, the story on its own kept me turning page after page. It's the story of a second chance romance, as well as Avery finding herself. A coming-of-age of sorts after years of losing track of what made her happy. Having both these elements mixed in with the setting, the foods, and the overall atmosphere blew me away.

I'm hoping these two authors continue to work together. They seem to make a great team. Though, I'll definitely keep my eyes open for any new solo work for either author. They're both talented, and Roman Crazy is evidence enough of that.

lovely narration of the male characters

Randi did a beautiful job with the narration. The female characters were fine but the MALE characters were phenomenal. Super sexy.

this book is about love and hate I thought it was cute funny and in some parts there were intense moments I have to say the book didn't get interesting until the third chapter the first two chapters or about her complaining but once you get past that it's pretty adorable.

Who wouldn't hate this well loved Academy Award winning actor with his handsome face, fit body, sexy smile, drool-worthy bulge, dirty mouth, and his heart of gold when around his cute son.. yup awful and definitely not a DILTF.. nope not ever.. sigh. See I can be as delusional as Lucy can when it comes to her best friend's hot as hell sexy neighbor who she'd happily spied on and fantasized about while staying at Olive and Jason's house until the day Adam Connor had her arrested. And Lucy's over imagined Dad she'd like to .... suddenly turned into a Dad she'd like to throttle - and she didn't hold back when it came to letting him know how she felt. But underneath their witty barbed banter and glowering dark looks there was a simmering slow boil of sexual attraction that would, eventually, spill over and create one hell of a passionate flame.

Adam couldn't believe it.. after his bitter divorce he'd been trying hard to be the best joint custody Dad he could be for his five yr old son.. until the day the infuriating, feisty, sharp-tongued stalker/she devil next door had saved his precious son.
