Still Going Strong

The third installment of the series is just as good as the first two. All the characters from the first two books are back and no one and no part has become trite, formulaic or tiresome. Though the continued enmity displayed by Avery for her mother gave me pause; especially given that book two ended with Delia taking a bullet to save Avery. Her reversion to the angry child of the initial two books made her a much less sympathetic character in this one. Added to that is the over the top tabloid coverage of Kira's son Dustin. It's difficult to conceive that the tabloid fascination with the kid would continue for years. Likewise William "the Wild" Hightower was a rock star back in the seventies and early eighties and the paparazzi is still chasing him around; seriously? I mean when was the last time there a tabloid article on Gregg Allman or Lindsay Buckingham?

Still these are the same tough, gutsy, likable ladies that created an emotional investment by the readers/ listeners of the first two works. Plus even though there was a lot less space given to the DIY facets in books two and three than there was in the first book, it was still more than is in most audiobooks. Despite those issues we still unanimously awarded this one five stars .

Fantastic, relaxing, enjoyable read. Just do it.

All of Wendy Wax's books are great reads, especially for relaxing or sitting at the beach.

What did you like best about this story?

This book is fourth (I believe) in the Ten Beach Road Series. I've read them all, and I like getting to know the back stories of all the characters. I lived in the Atlanta and I'm now back in Florida. I can relate to the places Wendy refers to in her books.

What about Amy Rubinates performance did you like?

I've grown accustomed to Rubinate's voice with this particular series. I think I would be thrown off it this book had been read by somebody else. She is the voice of these characters.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No, I was just anxious to see what would happen to the 4 women and to the house.

Good read

Not for the faint of heart a lot of swearing going on in this book. The story line was predictable but kept my interested in how the story would unfold. Enjoyed the narrator very much she gave life to the characters and kept the flow of the storyline.

Rough but Amazing!

From the direct, bold, foul mouth of Rob Cannon to the sweet and innocence of Margorie Iverson, this story has it all. Beware there is alot of "f" bombs dropped throughout this story but that is what makes the characters in the story seem so much more realistic and ones that you can relate to. Who doesn't know a guy who has a "who gives a fuck" attitude about life and then meets a girl who makes him second guess his life choices and makes him a fucking mess inside. A man who can't get the thought of her out of his head; she makes him want to be a better man? I personally know a few. Couple that with a 24 year old women who happens to be inisanely tall, insecure and a virgin and now you have the makings of a great story. Jessica Clare has brought these two characters together in a unique and amazing way in this touching and memorable love story that will have you, experiencing emotions of laughter, sadness, shock and excitement as you journey through the ups and downs of this story. Warning: the sex scenes are definitely XXX rated and steamy as fuck! Jessica Clare has delivered yet again another must read. I give it 5 stars all the way.

Gave it a Second Listen

Where does The Billionaire and the Virgin rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

This book would be in the middle because the narrator almost ruined it.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The narrator made the tough men characters to sound so breathy and feminine it was hard to pass over. This made the female characters better than the male.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Way too feminine to pull off these hard males. She needs to be the narrator in an all female book, cause she can not pull off the males.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No, I actually listened to this book one and did not listen much because of the narrator. Then, I listened again because I usually like the author. this time I was prepared for the narrator and worked hard at listening rather than letting her interfere with the story.

This is worth a listen if you can get past the breathy males.

Farrah rochon never ceases to capture your heart, mind, body and soul with her writing. this continuation of the Bayou Dreams series definitely did not disappoint.

Book 3 in the Bayou Dreams stories. Matt Gauthier, the towns namesake, has a very dark secret. Matt is determined to keep Tamryn from his families legacy. He is equally determined to win Tamryn's heart. A good read.

good. never disappoints

Farrah Rochon never disappoints. I know when I'm looking for a good romantic book where to turn. I have bought every single book of hers in every series Holmes, Sabers, Gauthier, and Now I have to start Maplesville. If you haven't read a Farrah Rochon novel you are definitely missing out. Matt and Tamryn are a couple you will fall in love with. I can't wait for the next installment.

A great love story

I am looking forward to reading this series. This was an awesome continuation for the series. Matt felt he had to redeem the sins of his ancestors and Tamryn sought historical proof of her great, great grandmother's good works. Together they found love, trust, and reconciliation of the past. I highly recommend this book. The book held my interest.

Got this book on sale on a whim, not disappointed at all!

My husband got the benefits of the heat this book evokes. If you like fifty shades of grey this is the best along that line but not just a shadow of it like the others have tried (crossfire books and this man series). Well worth a credit!

BDSM erotica - delicious

I believe this is book 17 in the sisters of the moon it's good storytelling I like everything about the book I just feel that it's very slow pace through each book we don't really get anything done but all in all it's just a good listen. I do wish Miss Galenorn would move on the storyline a little bit quicker, find the spirit seals, move on with the girls lives, it just seems to stalled so often that I'm reluctant to purchase the book because I don't feel like I get enough out of it

Finally, the story is moving again. Tying up some loose ends. Interesting direction thing are moving in. So glad it is just not one big love scene after another. Yes, I would suggest reading.

Book 17 and not even close to ending

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

This is book 17, what happened to the fight against Shadowing? So many side plots and characters it's really becoming annoying and getting away from the original story. Yes there were a few pieces of background information that helped bring other back story together, but all the other stuff just was fluff to fill until the next book. Why?

If youve listened to books by Yasmine Galenorn before, how does this one compare?

Yes this series, and it's getting a bit boring and anti-climatic waiting for the "Spirit Seals" and the war with "Shadowing" to come to a head. This is book 17 and it's not even getting close to a finish line, just a clue in the end about a new general that will be in charge of Shadowing's army. How many more books will it take to get to the end of this. I don't mind side stories if it leads to the main plot.

What made the experience of listening to The One You Want the most enjoyable?

It is easy to listen to the story while doing other things (like work on the computer.)

This author's stories always have a nice ending.

The struggles that the main characters face getting involved with each other are worth the read. I didn't have a favorite character.

The one you DON'T want

I got this title because I usually love the narrator but this time not even Savannah Richards could make this story worthwhile. The story is choppy. The characters are supposed to be 23 and 29 but acted more like 14 and 16. It was juvenile and very predictable. I hated the constant use of #hashtags when the heroine was thinking. Then the narrator use a very young voice for Kenna making her more annoying and immature. The story never explained how Kenna having rich parents is then dirt poor. The chemistry and love story between the Kenna and Dane was lame and yawn worthy. Skip this title!

What made the experience of listening to Rivers of Gold the most enjoyable?

The story was interesting and entertaining.

I enjoy listening and she did a great job reading it to me. Good character voices.

I enjoyed experiencing Alaska and the gold rush reality. I like happy endings! This life has enough reality and heartache - these trials had a wonderful conclusion.

Loved the series

I misses the first book struggled to read the second book but I very much enjoyed the narrative on the third book in the series. It made me feel like I was right there.

Excellent series!! Ms Peterson is a deep- felt

... Christian writer. This story has caused me to examine my faith and the relationships I have with those around me.

This third and final book (I wish there were more) brings all the main players to the end of their time in the Yukon. Ms. Peterson still provides surprises and twists.

The narrator is good differentiating the voices on the most part, and is excellent at providing elements of emotion; surprise, fear, anger, etc.. Sometimes there wasn't enough of a pause for a scene change, as a result, the story seemed too rushed and this led to confusion. I enjoyed the variety of characters and their in-depth development, but switching scenes and characters too quickly takes away from story development and plot effectiveness.

I'm a huge fan of Ms Peterson's Christian stories. She is a true witness of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ; that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have life ever-lasting.

Dramatic, Epic Conclusion to Historical Series

Poignant Story

After reading the summary, I was expecting a teary downer of a story, but instead found it almost uplifting, even a bit inspirational. I liked the characters and the believable way they interacted with each other. The medical scenes weren't overbearing - enough information to get the gist of what they were dealing with, but not so much that it becomes a Medical Drama. Mostly it was about how Daisy deals with her life, and her relationship with her husband (and other characters), with this new, terrible prognosis. Rebecca Lowman excels at this type of narrative, and she performs all but the last chapter.

Love this book

This story is heartwarming and draws you in.

I would highly recommend this book for everyone.

Definitely a keeper indeed

Lots of Problems

This is the story of a young woman who discovers the cancer she previously defeated has come back with a vengeance and now she has "lots of cancer." I know this sounds strange but to me, that phrase "lots of cancer" which the author uses frequently is the most original and inventive thing in the book.

Rather than a story about a young woman and her husband who discover their marriage is about to end along with her life and how they handle that knowledge, the tragedy is used as a hook to lure the reader into yet another book about a troubled relationship that would quickly be fixed if only the characters would start talking to each other instead of to themselves. This is no different than so many of the contemporary chick lit or romance novels. The impending death of one half of the couple is nothing but a gimmick, not the driving force moving the plot along.

I expect a a young woman facing her own mortality in the very near future would naturally be introspective. Introspective about her upcoming demise, how she feels about death, her fears about the process, how her beliefs and her faith or lack thereof affect the process, her concerns for her loved ones, etc.

Haley has always loved Wes.

Haley has loved Wes most of her life. He abruptly left her and joined the military. Now he is back in town and she doesn't know if she wants to rekindle what they had before. He had hurt her so bad and she has closed her heart off while he was gone. Wes has been injured and doesn't want anyone to know the extent of his injuries. Haley just sees it as he is shutting her out again. Can they get past all of that and love again?

Haley and Wes loved each other since 2nd grade. However, after high school, Wes joined the military and left Haley with many unanswered questions. Upon Wes' return from the service, he wants to pick up where they left off and Haley is very hesitant. It's a very sweet, romantic read. I love how the series continues on with the sister's lives as well. The story covers many emotions and obstacles - but luckily, love conquers all!

Roy does an excellent job narrating the book. He definitely does the men justice in these books! I wish he was a bit better with the female voices, but he really is nice to listen to!

Opposites do attract

I've always loved small town romance stories and the Pine Mountain series by Kimberly Kincaid is no exception. The 3rd story in Pine Mountain series, Stirring Up Trouble tells the story of Sloane and Gavin who had previously appeared in Gimme Some Sugar.

Sloane and Gavin are two very different characters. Sloane, a romance writer needs to travel around to find her muse. Her previous stories based in exotic locations were written onsite and had received great reviews. Her editor wants her to write a book featuring a Greek hero and she needs to fly to Greece. But being short on funds, she accepted a job to babysit and tutor Gavin's sister.

Gavin is a more controlled and uptight kinda guy. Perhaps it's because his mother died from cancer and left him to be guardian to his sister. Being a guy who is clueless about a teenage girl, he is at a loss at what to do. I love the interactions between the 3 of them and I thought the chemistry between Sloane and Gavin was great. Loved how the book ended. Looking forward to the next book.

Stirring Up Trouble

I really enjoyed this visit back to Pine Mountain.

Sloane and Gavin could not be more different personality wise, but that doesn't stop the spark between them from flaring! Kimberly does a great job writing these two characters, building their relationship and smouldering a romance between them. Sloane and Gavin are brought together in an unusual way...he hires her to 'babysit' his 13 year old sister Bree. Gavin is not too sure about Sloane to start with, but he takes the chance. Gavin and Sloane are both struggling with aspects of their lives, and neither of them has plans to settle down with anyone. Sloane has never met the right person, and Gavin has no time for romance right now. Sloane doesn't plan to stay in Pine Mountain, but while she's there the pull Gavin and her feel becomes impossible to resist. There is great chemistry between them, but they have very different life plans. What happens when it's time for her to move on?

I really liked how different Sloane and Gavin were and how they came together, complementing each other very well. Sloane is doing what she loves to do - writing romance novels for a living. Her heart hurts because her family is not supportive of her, but she does what is best for her. I love that quality in a heroine! Sloane is definitely her own person with her own ideas. She is strong and independent, she tends to go with the flow of her life.
