Publisher's Summary:

What is it about men anyway? Bad cars, bad jobs, even bad teeth - nothing convinces them that they can't snare a size-two babe with a D-cup chest. And after way too many Internet dates with men named "luvstick" and "bigdaddy182", Lucy Rothschild should know.

But sitting across from her now is "hardluvnman", and he seems different - sensitive, honest, and hot! He says he's a plumber while Lucy claims she's a nurse. She's really a mystery writer, dating online while researching her next book. Hey, everyone lies a little, don't they?

But Quinn is really an undercover cop hunting down a serial killer, and he sees Lucy as his top suspect. While he could really go for this smart, sexy woman with the killer bod - if that's the only thing "killer" about her - he knows he needs to wine and dine her and discover the truth. Hey, he realizes the dating scene can be deadly - but this is ridiculous!

Rachels books are always entertaining

If you could sum up Sex, Lies, and Online Dating in three words, what would they be?

Funny, romantic and sexy.

What other book might you compare Sex, Lies, and Online Dating to and why?

It must be love. Another cop simiar to Quint. A hilarious love story! Probably my favorite of all.

What does Kathleen Early bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

Perfect narration.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. I wanted to parse it out and savor it.

Any additional comments?

I have read all of Rachel's books and liked all, some more than others. I live in Eagle ID near Boise so esp find those set in Idaho fun though the other books have been very entertaining as well.

"Legs Looked Like a Clydesdale"

Would you listen to Sex, Lies, and Online Dating again? Why?

Oh yes, as this is a feel good, make smile/ laugh out loud story. Author can't make every story a great one, but this right up there. Yes, our heroine has her heart out there (author could have done better editing in that department and added to mystery instead, but this is a Romance after all.

Remember these are simple romances that are written to make you smile or laugh, so if you are not in the mood, come back to it if you feel too lousy and can't give it listening justice.

What other book might you compare Sex, Lies, and Online Dating to and why?

If you like this story, check out Julie James U.S. series/ reader Karen White. All time best.

Also, Tiffany Snow series/ reader Angela Dawe. Both the male version are great too.

Janet Evanovich series with Nicolas Fox, best reader Scott Brick.

Have you listened to any of Kathleen Earlys other performances before? How does this one compare?

Ms Early is at the top of her game in this one. She has improved her male voice with the perfect cadence that makes our hero, Quinn, YUM. I mean Yum. She has a wonderful cadence that interprets an author's work when in her female role. That's why this story is not to be missed. Ms Early earlier work on Simply Irresistible/ Georgina Howard story with Hockey player was very good (don't miss it), but she had not quite gotten her male voice groove as in this one.

Ms Early's work on author Karin Slaughter's Will Trent series is great, but that author writes horror mysteries so you have to have a strong stomach to buy them.

BOOOORRRRIIINNNNGGGGG narrator!!! Do not waste money on the audible version

My BIGGEST problem with this was the narrator she was flat and boring after a while I just could not listen anymore. The storyline was OK although at times I felt like I missed a huge chunk of the story the way the characters would jump from one extreme to the next with their feelings or maybe it was just the way the narrator read the story.

What a great love story hot Sizzlin great!!!

First time listen to this author I fell in love with this book , happy everlasting great love story hot says romantic's suspenseful love and can't see enough about this author more more and more

boring story

the story was boring the narrator was awful if these was black people that's on the cover of the book she had the wrong voice and plus she dragged her voice she made the book not worth listening to and if that's the way the story was written by the author is very out-of-touch because people don't talk like that not real people.

the spoken words sucked

I love the story but the reading of this story sucked big time and that's sad because I like the story line.

It's ok

I like that the narrator's voices are distinguishable n her mail voices actually sounds male. The story line was very similar to Beyond Desire by Gwynne Foster.

"A masterpiece....powerful, authentic, moving, brilliantly written....a profound and passionate novel....a memorable experience." (Sydney Morning Herald)

Members Reviews:

wow

This book is definitely a different read, it is written in stream of consciousness manner. It might seem chaotic at first due to the lack of quotations and seem unstructured, but that's what makes this novel different and adds more depth to it. At first I must admit it was confusing, but then it became a very interesting read. It really is a story that deals with many serious topics; it addresses pride, culture, violence, rape, and love. It has many things that connect the reader to the characters and gives insight to what it is to be living in a society the character lived in. It's a story of hope and loss, there something deep and raw in this novel. Might not be for everyone, but definitely worth a read.

Five Stars

Great book, movie of this book is great as well

Good follow up

very interesting book, good follow up to Once were warriors, Duff is a deep thinker and it is reflected in his writing, i like his introspective style and his knowledge of Maori Life

Kia Kaha Alan

Four Stars

I like Alan Duff but this is hard core and be ready for some brutal truths

Great Book

Love this book, very emotional. Much, much better than the movie. If you're a fan of the movie, definitely read the book.

Title: Finding Eden

Author: Mia Sheridan

Narrator: Jennifer Stark, Anthony Haden Salerno

Format: Unabridged

Length: 10 hrs and 28 mins

Language: English

Release date: 05-19-15

Publisher: Audible Studios

Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 243 votes

Genres: Romance, Contemporary

Publisher's Summary:

Finding Eden is the continuation and conclusion to Becoming Calder.

When the world as you know it has ended, when all that you love has been washed away, where do you find strength?

When the new world you've stepped into is as isolating as the last, when your heart is broken and your future is unclear, where do you find hope?

Finding Eden is a story of strength, discovery, forgiveness, and undying love. It is about believing in your destiny and following the path that leads to peace.

This is the second part and conclusion in a two-part Sign of Love series inspired by Aquarius (Becoming Calder should be listened to first). Due to strong language and graphic sexual content, this book is not intended for listeners under the age of 18.

Members Reviews:

So original, not what you might think...

Where does Finding Eden rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

This book is just so original. And I wasn't sure I would like it based on the summary, but it was just so enrapturing to see things through these characters eyes. It really made you think while you were buried in this story. It takes awhile for the real live story to really get going but it's worth the wait!

What other book might you compare Finding Eden to and why?

Similar to Archers Voice with its fish out of water storyline.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No, but I did have a lot of nervous energy for these characters.

Any additional comments?

Cliffhanger warning.

Great sequel

Unlike book 1, book 2 hit the ground running. I didn't have to wait for things to develop because it picked right up from where Becoming Calder ended.

The floods came and it looked like Eden was the only survivor from the compound. She found Shelter with a family whose patriarch was looking to make amends. It's there that Eden began to build her inner strength. She didn't have Calder to depend on, so she had to start living for herself and she did. Eden began to work and make money, she began to learn how the outside world operates and she began to find her own voice.

Three years after she finally started rebuilding her life, she learned that she wasn't the sole survivor but that her love, Calder, made it out alive. Their reunion was bitter sweet because they had both built a life independent of each other. The question now was "Do they fit in each other's life now?"

I really appreciate that this author made sure this book flowed exactly like book 1. I was never in doubt of the Eden and Calder's intentions towards each other. I knew what they had would endure. What I especially loved was the methodical addressing of all the questions and background issues that were presented in book 1. I kept saying "oooh, that's why!" as the past was unfurled in this book. I like that this book addressed past present and future together without confusing the reader. I like that each character found out about their past and made their decisions about who they wanted to be in the future.

Finding Eden was emotional, it was sweet and it was very satisfying. I love Love and I got that in spades here. Mia Sheridan is one of my favorite authors in the genre, rivaling only Colleen Hoover. I have never read a book by here and felt let down. Her books always make me feel hopeful and joyous because Love always wins. This book was full of irony as well.

Publisher's Summary:

When Scott Dare hears Meg's friends are determined she have a night of hot sex, before her life changes forever, he decides that man must be him. Their one night is mind blowing and life altering. And Scott, a man already burned by his ex-wife, finds himself all in anyway. While protecting Meg from her violent ex and becoming part of her increasingly complicated life, he's falling hard and he can't seem to find distance. Not when their bodies respond to each other with such heated intensity and he's drawn to her unique combination of strength and vulnerability.

But Meg's future is one Scott has accepted he'll never have, even if his growing feelings say otherwise....

Members Reviews:

not bad

I would have liked this more if the pregnancy wasn't an after thought. I liked the dominant Hero, the heroine was actually smart and didn't do stupid shit. I would have liked an epilogue showing how the hero and his family accepted the baby as their own. Does she still teach? even though my issues were smaller threads of the story I still like for things to be wrapped up in a bow with no loose strings.

Scott & Meg

Meg deserves the love she's never had from anyone, parents included. Scott, well like all the other Dare kids has been hurt by their father and betrayed by his ex-wife. Seeing these two people find in each other what they both desperately want and need is amazing.

Hot And Heavy Too Soon?

I enjoyed the story overall, I just felt that a pregnant Meg got into a physical relationship with Scott way too early, but that's just me.

good book

I just hate that they are so short but I would introduced them to all my friends

Really good!

I really enjoyed this audiobook! Once I started it I just could not put it down!

Very well narrated! You could listen and feel the characters moods, their personalities, everything!

Members Reviews:

A lovely Christmas romance

The very last thing Eliza wanted was to run into her ex-boyfriend, country music star, John Urban at her Bed & Breakfast over Christmas. Yes, she was so over him, the cheating, lying jerkâ until she actually saw him, then she always felt her resolve weaken. Not going to happen this year because she wasnât going to be there. The ski trip to the remote ski lodge in the mountains was exactly what she needed this Christmas.

Exceptâ everything did not go quite as planned. The bus was full of other skiers headed out to the lodge, and they were a motley crew of ages and attitudes. Marshall had headed up these trips for years now and was confident that once they hit the lodge and the slopes some of the irritants would smooth out. If he watched over Eliza a little more than the others, or if he had wished sheâd sat in the front with him instead of scuttling to the very back â well, that was on him.

At first the snow was beautiful and changed the landscape into a lovely Christmas card appearanceâ until it didnât stop. And the snow piled up, the temperatures dropped and the mountains surrounding Marietta, Montana got hit with the first huge blizzard in years. With the roads to the mountain lodge closed due to the large snowdrop, no deliveries were coming any time soon, nor the off-site workers either. Soon those small irritations would grow to gigantic proportions as guests realized that they were indeed snowbound with no outside help and only the supplies already on hand.

Snowbound in Montana is a charming story of making do with what you have, and changing attitudes about everything in your life. Since Eliza ran a Bed & Breakfast she knew what the only staff person on site was facing, and she gladly pitched in where she could to help. But every other guest seemed to pull their Scrooge attitudes around them like a fuzzy blanket and make a bad situation worse by the minute. The attraction is there between Marshall and Eliza, although Eliza is fighting it because she believes that the love of her life has passed her by and sheâs not looking for or trusting that anyone else can be that man.

Members Reviews:

Christmas with Mr. Darcy (Austen Addicts )

One of Victoria Connelly's Austen Addicts story. This story takes place at Purley Hall for a Christmas Jane Austen Conference by Dame Pamela Harcourt. Game playing, singing, dancing, lectures by notable people about Jane Austen, movies of her books, and eating many courses meals are the highlight of this conference. Dame Pamela was an actress who played characters from Austen's novels. She was such a Janeite that she purchased by auction the three volume first addition set of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. As lovely as everything was, one person in the group was not a true Janeite, but was a thief. Valuables been to disappear

Including the first addition set. The thief was someone that several of the guests had doubts about. Thief was captured, restrained, and arrested for his crimes, and everyone got their valuables back. Novella and a quick read.

A return visit with old friends

I love Victoria's writing - fun and entertaining. Here, in this novella she seamlessly brings together characters from the Austen trilogy (both secondary and main characters) that just leaves you wanting more of this romantic comedy genre!

Spend Christmas with the characters you fell in love with

In this Austen Addicts story, you get to revisit the characters you grew to love. You not only do you spend Christmas with them, but you also see how they honor their favorite author's birthday. And if that isn't enough, you get to solve a mystery while you're at it.

This short story is fun and lets you catch up with characters from the trilogy we all cherish.

Christmas with Mr Darcy

I enjoyed this continuation of the weekend with Mr Darcy at the beautiful mansion, Purly Hall. The concept of spending a weekend here with other members of Mr Darcy and everything Jane Austen is clever and satisfies the fantasies of all Jane Austen fans

Two Stars

Simple plot and little character development.

Members Reviews:

OH SIGH, THESE LOVEABLE RUSSIAN ROGUES!!

Another winner from Roxie.... they've all got a great storyline, sex, suspense, secrets, intrigue, twists, surprises, violence and this one had a very sweet love story too as virgin Vivian and Mob Boss Nikolai's long long pent up attraction to each other and desire for one other is finally, yes finally acted on after years of longing looks, mustn't touch and denial. When an explosive kidnapping scene leaves Nikolai for dead and his thoughts that his beloved Ward Vee has been snatched to be tortured, raped or sold into the sex slave industry it sends him into an all consuming rage which kicks off his possessive 'mine' gene.

Hot tattooed Russians, gangster warfare, Dad's from Hell, tortured histories, murder, a sex slave ring, a "who keeps doing this to us and why?" exciting plot and well loved characters from the previous books. Then there's a very thoughtful, sweet, passionate and finally sexy romance which had sometimes humorous, sometimes quick, sometimes dirty but always loving banter between the two of them. Nikolai felt unworthy of Vivian and he wanted to get out for her but instead he unwillingly and unwittingly dragged her further in.

Dual POV's by a good narrator who had a lot of different accents and voices to do which she did well except sometimes I thought Vivian's voice sounded a bit young and with a couple of the sex acts she came across as naive for a woman of her age.

Worth a credit? Yes..... and please keep em coming Roxie.

Romance, Suspense & Mystery

I loved this book with its unexpected twists and turns. This romance book had plenty of suspense, hot sex, and original storyline. The narrator did a good job accents of the characters. I have loved this book so much that I've listened to it several times.

Wasn't as angsty as I expected but still good

My second favorite in the series, after Dimitri (Her Russian Protector, #2) by Roxie Rivera. It wasn't as angsty as I was expecting, it had just the right amount of story, love and mob drama to keep this series so entertaining.

This is my first time listening to Pinky Powell narrate a series, and she is doing a great job.

Members Reviews:

Good book, great performance

It was a great story. I like the fact that it was different and quirky. But I really had to write review just in case the editor, author, performer read this...I never comment on the actual reading and performance of a book but this one was quite memorable! Thank you! Not only did it facilitate the reading but it added to it! Wonderful job!!!

Loved it!

Absolutely loved this trilogy. Leo as the narrator was a perfect choice. He was so funny talking about everyone in his life.

LOVED IT!!!!

I so loved this book, the whole series! I laughed, anguished, and cried. I really connected with all the characters and will miss them.

Love this series

What a wonderful group of characters. Many flawed and they feel like real people and make you care about them.

Home again.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Although these books can be stand alone, I like to have the whole series for background on the characters. I really enjoy all the books in this series and the series that ties in with it (Thrillseekers). I would recommend all of them. There is plenty of humor plus the feeling that these characters are as frail and fallable as any human.

What did you like best about this story?

I think that Emma was who she was whether other people liked her or not. I understand how people would assume she had a form of Aspbergers (having an autistic child, I know they can say things that most people filter) and maybe she really did.

What does Tanya Eby bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

She does a good job of distinguishing voices from one character to the next. I like her work.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Both. There were some parts where you had to laugh but the parts that were sad literally made be cry. I don't want to give anything away, but if you've read the other books in this series, there is a conclusion that you knew was coming and is still something you wish would change.

Any additional comments?

I have most of Julia London's audibles that are this genre. I'm not into the historical romances but I do like the contemporary ones.
