  • Your Exit Strategy (How to Take a Leap & Land On Your Feet)

Blaring headlines tell us The Great Migration aka The Great Recession is on – will you be joining the presumed masses?

After the lifestyle changes brought on by the protracted shelter in place, the pandemic shows little sign of abating. Reportedly, many are contemplating leaving their job. There are several reasons, of course, chief among them is fear of getting sick if they return to the office – employers haven’t been really good about communicating steps they’ve taken to protect workers. Some don’t want to deal with the commute. Still others have childcare concerns. And frankly, having been at home for so long I think many are reassessing their values and life goals. Realizing life is short, some have decided it’s time to take the plunge.

Should you go, or should you stay? Lean in and listen to these tips!

  • Leadership Challenge _ Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Is Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion a way of life for you, your organization - or are you still trying to figure this out?

How do you foster an environment that encompasses diversity, equity, and inclusion and that leads to transformed workplaces and lives? It starts with humanizing diversity. Consider the following historical examples that are not inclusive at all: slavery of Africans whose descendants are called Blacks or African Americans; anti-Semitism against the Jews; the internment of Asian Americans, the annihilation of Native Americans’ culture. These examples, disturbing as they are, lead us to today's conversation, an interview on leadership's role in creating an equitable workplace for all. We also recap ways anyone can maximize actions through participation in conversations that celebrate individuality that lend space for creativity and inclusion.

  • Women's Equality: Possibility or Fantasy?

Women’s Equality Day, on August 26th each year, celebrates the achievements of women’s rights activists and reminds us of the unique daily struggles that women face.

In last week's episode, we discussed Women and Money, where we outlined some depressing stats about unequal pay and other financial imbalances. Be sure to check it out; we hope it makes your figurative hackles rise so you can join us in taking action to combat inequality. Sure, we’ve got the right to vote – barely. We weren’t allowed to have our own bank account till the 20th century – most of our listeners were around then, albeit a bit too young at the time to be concerned. But equality for women is still an active conversation today. So, what then really, does “equality” mean? For a working definition to drive this conversation, let’s use the word “parity” - an even playing field for all.

On the face of things, women can do “everything” a man does, in the U.S. at least. But being able to do the same things in no way means we are all treated fairly or equally in all situations. Being deemed the fairer sex, for many apparently means the weaker, less smart sex.

    Did you Know:

    · Women make .82 cents for every dollar a man makes

    · Women must work 44 more days each year to make as much as her male counterpart

    · Women are 80% more likely to face financial hardship at 65+

    · Net lifetime earnings for women with bachelor’s degrees average $1.32 million; men with bachelor’s degrees net lifetime averages $2.9 million.

By the way, have you checked your social security benefit projections lately? If you're not happy with the projected monthly income, be sure to attend my upcoming (complimentary) virtual workshop so you can boost your bottom line. • Women and Money: Your Big Payday

Frustration. Heartache. Disbelief. Dismay. These are some descriptors that come to mind when I read articles about the financial and economic status of women today. Why are we still having this conversation – how can this still be an issue??

When one is doing well financially – or even when having money issues – sometimes we forget that many of our sisters continue to struggle. In this podcast, we’ll discuss some alarming stats that may surprise you. We’ll also look at the little bit of progress that has been made and discuss the work yet to be done. (Note: Many of the stats came from the Possible blog written by Chang Fu.)

Be sure to register for my complimentary workshop, Lady Mogul: Your Empire, Your Way, Wednesday, August 18 at 12PM PST. This virtual workshop will introduce you to the multipreneur lifestyle, giving you an overview of the Business of Life Well-lived. Start your journey with us today! • Commitment to Excellence

Quality - Execution - Consistency - Kaizen - is then the definition of Excellence? While we can't help with the commitment part, we can provide you with some tools to help you achieve excellence and consistency in your execution. Kaizen, which is Japanese for continuous improvement is the mantra and lifeblood of high achievers.

Watching the Olympics always brings to mind the commitment and drive necessary to become a champion, and despite the changes brought about due to COVID, the  (delayed) "2020" Olympic games still inspire awe and pride for the athletes, no matter where they hail from. So this seems like a fine time to discuss one's personal commitment to excellence. Trailblazers and thought leaders like you demonstrate the same determination and drive to excel. Don't settle for an "also-ran" outcome. Listen to this Divas, Diamonds, and Dollars podcast to learn to raise your game in the arena of life well-lived.

  • You, Inc. Numero Dos - How to Maximize Your Career

We are revisiting your career! This podcast is essentially part 2 to our You, Inc. podcast episode on July 11 - because it's that important! These past few years have been pretty turbulent - even if you weren't directly impacted you were at least peripherally aware of the Me, Too and Black Lives Movements, not to mention the political unrest and pandemic overload. The news headlines are screaming that it's "The Great Resignation" as many people are leaving jobs after being called to return to work as the shelter in place orders were lifted.

You need to manage your career like a well-run corporation, hence the title "You, Inc." As discussed in part one, you need to manage your career early and often; identify a mentor and network that can support you and hold you accountable. Ensure you are qualified: education-wise, and also take on high-visibility projects.

This episode hands the reins back to you, discussing the proactive steps you can take to have the career of your dreams. And if that means leaving your current job for greener pastures, we talk about that, too.

Grab a seat and listen closely. Feel free to listen to part 1 again; these are two great companion pieces!

  • Gal Pals, BFFs and Partners in Crime - Who Love Ya, Baby?

Do you have a "ride-or-die" who's got your back? Someone you can call at 2AM, knowing they will pick up the phone - and not curse you out? Do you have someone who will take you to the airport, or help you move, or help you hold a garage sale? One thing that can sneak up on you as you get older is isolation, and not just the COVID-shelter-in-place kind of isolation. As you grow through life, you'll find that your needs and interests change, and sometimes people who aren't growing with you can drift away or you may find you don't hang out as often as you used to. Relationships are always important, and even more so as you grow older.

When was the last time you had some F.U.N., meaning Fine dining, Unbridled laughter, and Naughty high jinks? You need a partner in crime to keep the good times rolling. Check out this podcast and get some golden nuggets you can use today to find (keep) your besties close to your side.

  • You, Inc. - Strategies for Successfully Managing Your Career

Do you love your job or are you just treading water? if you have a job that keeps you really busy, when you finally do get a minute to catch your breath and start looking around, you may find that the job no longer suits you or that you are otherwise stagnating. I've learned that you must proactively manage your career. You have to actively prepare for promotions and leadership opportunities that showcase your strengths and abilities. And like a corporation, you need a success team - you need your own personal "board of directors." If you are currently working "9-to-5" you can't afford to miss this episode! Listen carefully, take copious notes and take massive action. Your success depends on it.

  • Your Role Models Matter (So Choose Wisely)!

Look left, now look to your right? Who's in your posse? Have you heard the saying that "you become the five people you associate with most"? How does that make you feel? Where are you going and who's going to help you get there? Or, who is keeping you from arriving?? While most of us know to avoid spending too much time with naysayers, what about the other side of the coin? How much thought have you given to the people who can help lift you up, who can help you take steps forward toward your goals, your dreams, and your ambitions? And not to put too fine a point on it, but what's the income range of the people you spend the most time with? Whose advice are you listening to (and should you be)?

In our quest for personal growth and success, there are so many moving parts! It's not only the things we proactively do that will help us grow and become, but also the influences of many that will impact our psyche and frankly, our progress.

Listen in as we talk about the five most influential people you will ever meet.

For additional support, check out my quick course Four Cs to ChaChing.
