The Iran War may be approaching another dangerous turning point.

The government is preparing for potential warfare extending all the way to the space around the Moon — but apparently that isn’t the strangest thing happening in Washington this week.

The global order may be shifting faster than it appears.

Is Anthropic starting to look less like an AI company and more like a cult?

In this episode of Divulgence, we dive into the increasingly bizarre world of artificial intelligence and the people building it. Reports from inside Anthropic describe employees anthropomorphizing Claude and even holding what resembled a funeral ceremony for a retired AI model—raising a much bigger question about whether the people developing these systems are beginning to believe their own mythology.

But there may also be a cultural backlash underway. Phones are increasingly becoming taboo at restaurants, Singapore is literally rewarding people for reading books, and strange new “dopamine sites” allow people to experience the anticipation of online shopping without actually buying anything.

Then we turn to politics.

Christian imagery is becoming increasingly visible within parts of Britain’s nationalist right, Elon Musk continues inserting himself into British political debates through X, and new reporting reveals just how far J.D. Vance once went in trying to help Hillary Clinton understand how she could defeat Donald Trump in 2016.

The technology is getting more powerful. The wars are becoming harder to contain. And the line between the digital world and the physical one keeps disappearing.
