In this series, building a bulletproof business about the foundations you need to have to create a bulletproof business. My goal as I've said, I think every episode is for you to understand where you're at in your business in terms of, do you own a job? Do you want a business? Where are you at? If I have to guess, there's a lot of people listening to this, that owns the job, you know, we're, we're transitioning in this business from job to business and there's many things that we're doing so that it's not my job, that it's my business. And you know, one of those things is standard operating procedures or processes or systems like whatever it is you want to call it, SOP, processes, systems. That is, that is what you need in your business so that other people can do the things in your business without you looking over their shoulder, right? And you should have a system process, SOP, whatever you want to call it in place for everything in your business. You know, one of the things that we do, I have an admin that gets in usually before me and she reviews leads every day. The leads that have come in since, you know, basically overnight, evening overnight kind of thing, and then tells me what leads, and then she sending out information and doing follow-ups, but that system is in place. On a daily basis that gets done. So in your business, like what are the daily, weekly, monthly functions? If you have vehicles, like what are the daily, weekly, monthly functions to make sure there's vehicles last? In our business, we did daily check-ins, check-outs, walkarounds. We did weekly reviews of the trucks, physical like eyes on, tracked mileage, all of that stuff so that we would know when an oil change is needed and when services need it. We did that with equipment. Same thing, like they get, you have people going out to do service. One of the hardest parts for non-skilled services like cleaning, for instance, is cleaning as an opinion. And everybody has a different opinion of what clean is. Some people believe clean is just no dirt. Okay. Others believe that clean is no dirt, but organized. Okay. Are they wrong? No, they're both right, but it's someone's opinion versus another. So what's your opinion, and how do you want that opinion to be portrayed across your company? If you don't have an SOP, you don't have a process. You don't have a system for people to follow. There's no way for someone to understand what your opinion is on that matter. And obviously, if it's your business, you want your opinion to shine through. So develop SOPs processes, systems, write them down, make videos, make them to where people can use them for training to be able to do the work that needs to be done. So you can get away from owning a job, begin to own a business, begin to build a bulletproof business. So you can DMN8 the day.
