DMTForestOfFEAR Podcast

Hey guys I found something in the woods near my house! It's an older leather-bound journal of sorts. Reading it was surreal - I'm going to transcribe it here for everyone, if people like it I may transcribe more for you all, here goes!

I begin this tale now with the full knowledge that I may not be able to finish it. I have hidden myself in a church, for I feel that it cannot enter here, but even as I think this, I can hear it: skittering over stone surfaces, tapping on the walls, tap tap tap. And as I hear these clicks which send shivers through my very marrow, I know I am not long for this world.

The theory was that it began with Hurricane Harvey a few years ago in mid - August. The news media reported the flooding at 5,000 year levels. The waters reached almost to the top of Black Cat Ridge.

No one living knew of a time the waters
had been so high. Black Cat Ridge was an area known mostly just to older locals. Back in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, it had been an outlaw hang-out and during
Prohibition it served as a base for moonshiners...Now, it was home to something even more dangerous!

My Father he often told me stories of the wilderness, of those that went in and never came back out, or if they did, they were forever changed. Many nights I would sit on the back porch, sipping beer and staring out at the thick line of trees...Wondering if the stories were true, until it was undeniable!

There aren’t a lot of Detectives like me. In fact, as far as I know I’m the only one in Ontario and there’s less than fifteen of us in the country. People don’t talk about Werewolves very often. It’s better to keep that sort of thing quiet. If people knew that Werewolves were out there, they might not take too kindly to it. What do you do when someone takes everything you know and turns it on its head? Accept it? Reject it, or true to human nature, try to kill it? I think the answer is obvious...

There was no moon this night, just stars and high clouds and if it wasn’t for the light bar
on the front it would be driving into total darkness, we hardly said a word. on the way over to the spur, it was just a hell of a night to enjoy the lake, the night and the sound of the engine. But Soon That Tranquility was shattered by a large Unknown Beast!

Thom was ten years old when the alien visitors arrived, and he raptly
watched the television screen as the camera caught the silver sphere that
descended from the deep blue void of space. The Oomanish had at last
arrived on his world! It had been all over the news media for several
months. Aliens from the depths of space were on the way and had indeed
made contact with scientists, scholars, and national governments from
around the planet.

I won't tell you my name. If you watch the news regularly, you probably already know it. I'm rather famous right now -- or perhaps, more appropriately, infamous. The media has been covering my story for months, and I've been in all the major newspapers. My name is a source of heated debate. People discuss me in the office break room, and at bars and restaurants. Housewives scare each other with stories of me when they get together for lunch, embellishing my crimes, consulting their imaginations to conjure up the most lurid details they can come up with to get a rise out of their friends. I've been featured on all the big real-life crime shows and various esteemed professionals in the psychiatric field and criminal profiler's have sat down with talk show hosts and major network news pundits to offer their own insights and theories into what makes me tick, what caused me to become what I am..

As I write this, pen trembling in my shaking hand, I can hear it still outside the cabin, snarling and howling. It doesn't try to come in because of the light, but that won't last much longer; the generator is almost out of fuel and the lights will start flickering again anytime now. It's only a matter of time before the generator shuts down, taking the electricity, and the light, my only source of salvation, with it.

And then I'll be dead...Like Scott and Maddie and Alex and Samantha.
I could try running out the back door, but I saw how fast that thing moves when it took Scott. I know I don't stand a chance. It would be on me before I got more than ten feet.
