We carry on with the calls after the win over Birmingham, we get corrections on our bad Italian pronunciation from Jimmy Pesto (Chris) around the #Parlaci Gino and we promptly promoted him to head of swearing for DNSYE (how we had survived without this appointment up til now astonishes me!), Alan gave us a damning critique of Sky's Red Button commentary including anger inducing commentary remarks about (the lack of) replays!!

We start to cover the 5 word reviews and then we joined by Pete Fincham with the tale of his evening, his daughter Grace's 18th birthday and some heart rending but joyous comments about the nature of the club, the community and what it all means. He left many of us in tears.

Then we went to Uncle Ron who compared Chris Wilder to Michael Caine in the bathroom scene in Escape to Victory!

None of this makes sense, all of this makes sense - but hey that's Watford!

72 hours on from a disastrous performance Chris Wilder made some changes which were in part forced but the performance we saw was one to warm the cockles! Not perfect but a seismic leap from the weekend. That being said we are determined to yes enjoy the result and the performance but also to acknowledge the troubles that the club still has. So we discuss the "Parlaci, Gino" campaign as well as bathe in the warm glow of three well constructed and taken goals - even Britt's less than graceful finish!!! As we look to welcome back two former Hornets captains in legendary talisman Troy Deeney and inspirational John Eustace with Birmingham City we speak to Zac from Blues Focus Podcast about how they are getting on at St Andrews. We also discuss big haired players, blood oranges, stadium issues and Blues faltering form and wishes for the future. So we capitulate to a QPR side that is devoid of its best most creative players, who have one once since the end of October - how Watfordy is that! The answer is very but that doesn't go far enough to describe the abject and disparate nature of this performance which was as far removed from a "new manger bounce" as you could get! Everyone is upset, Carl dislikes Pete and Justin's sofa's for being comfortable and warm (we suspect Loftus Road was neither of these things) and for Uncle Rons call that the manager (Slaven Bilic) was to blame. Ron replies but there are many other calls in the first part of a post mortem for a game that insted of feeling like a start of something - felt like levy breaking. Pete's hope that we might recreate the home atmosphere created at Loftus Road is given short shrift as the supporter base see the play offs, if not slip out of sight, certainly see hope of getting close to them evaporate. Mr Wilder the taks before you is now starkly clear.

Well we really wanted this to be an upbeat and hopeful post match phone in, but the game and performance were so low on quality, coherence, game plan or anything to really get us on the edge of our seat, that it ended up as a post mortem of the game and potentially Slaven Bilic's tenure at Watford. After 26 league games and a further transfer window are we in any better shape? This was the game when we had pretty much our main players back and with some game time in their legs but it fell well short of anything that might justify taking three points.

On the plus side though - we are giving away some merch, we have launched the charity tee-shirts and we do fin dout what the Finnish word is for "sitting around drinking in your underpants" - so, you know, every days a school day!
