A first away win at the King Power since 2013, Watford defeat the foxes 2-1 on Boxing day 2025!

Ned and James go through the game in depth and focus on the system, fans have been critical of Javi but it was perfect at the King Power. Counter attacking football!

Watford salvage another 3 points from the jaws of defeat as they come from behind to beat Norwich 3-2 at Vicarage Road.

Ned and James are back to discuss the game and perhaps the more questions than answers that came out of it.

What is going on with the back four? constant individual mistakes. Is it a personnel issue? is it the tactics? or is it the midfield not protecting them as they should? which leads the boys on to the question of: is the 4-4-2 working? a lot of joy from those fullbacks going forward. But leaking goals and being far too easy to play through in the middle is posing a lot of questions. Do we actually have the midfielders to play in a 4-4-2? 

Coming from behind to win points is fantastic... but not sustainable. What needs to change?

We're back with an AwayDays podcast for the first time in a long time this week!

Ned and James both traveled to Birmingham on Monday night to see Watford's first defeat in 6 as they slumped to a 2-1 defeat.

The boys discuss the game in detail, what went wrong in the first half, the comeback kings of the EFL struggled to get back into the game after Maamma's effort early on in the second half and eventually ran out of steam chasing Birmingham.

The big question is the number of defensive mistakes; do we need to reavaluate the back four? do we need a change at CB (we're certainly not light in this area) has Kyprianou been good enough recently? is it time for Papy Mendy to come back into the fold?

Two games in 3 days so the boys cover both Derby and Preston North End in this podcast!

A huge away win - the first for 280 days, the first this season and another three points wrestled from the jaws of defeat. Something the golden boys are making a bit of a trend of this season.

The international break is almost over, Watford are back this weekend as they travel up to Derby (Finally!)

Ned and James wanted to do something interesting this week so they are joined by James from thewatfordway to discuss the season so far; how the golden boys have progressed under Gracia, and the next 5 games.

It's been a very busy week for Watford FC, three games in six days gave the golden boys no rest. 5 points from a possible 9 wasn't a bad return given the fixtures but do we see the draws as 2 points dropped or a point gained?

Ned and James discuss this and the context of the question. How did the change of shape and personnel impact the game on Friday night, was it the right decision to switch to a back 5? and did we come away from the game disappointed not to beat a fairly depleted Bristol City side.

Well, we certainly needed a reaction after Coventry (A) and we certainly got it!

A massive three points as the best performance of the season put Middlesbrough to the sword at Fortress Vicarage. Four wins on the bounce at home now as the hornets move up to 10th in the table!

Ned and James break down the tactics behind the performance, how Gracia set up to defeat Boro on the flanks, how the front two worked together and being clinical in front of goal.

Ned and James are back to discuss the loss away to Coventry, a defensive disaster class and not taking our chances killed us. Dominating in all stats but one saw the Hornets fall to a 3-1 defeat. The boys then turn their attention to Javi's first three games in charge, what have we learnt so far? 

The Spaniard seems to be getting the best out of some players (Vata and Bola) but there have been disappointing performances from others (Sissoko and Kayembe) and the team seems to be building in the right direction, a challenging first three sees the golden boys pick up 3 points and compete heavily against table toppers Coventry. Looking ahead to Middlesbrough, are we optimistic?
