Well, the big news was that at one point a seagull flew across the pitch!!! Really it was!!! A dull 0-0 game before breaking for the least anticipated and most controversial World Cup - but despite this we had a good and lively debate. Pete asked what motivational or tactical innovations people would make if they were Bilic for 30 seconds (or half a minute for Rich). We found that Uncle Ron has a pool, but he wasn't reclining by it. We discovered Greg was wandering around Bristol trying to find his car and Brett fresh from his Blue Cheese episodes had been Jazz Drumming (which we really hope isn't a euphemism). Loads of great calls, commenters and reviewers offered a balanced view on proceedings - even if the game had been rubbish. Oh, and we have badges - so if you see us ask for one and if we have one - it's yours. Oh and did we mention that seagull? We did! Well, it was that kind of afternoon!
Thanks to everyone who contributes and especially - Get Well Soon to Natasha - our squad's number 5!!!

An opposition view without any opposition so we do the normal and talk about Paul Ince, Milk Shakes, Rivals merging or not, Robert Maxwell, Pornographic club owners, Bristol Rovers nicknames, old grounds, Only Fools and Horses, Roy Hodgson, Nigel Pearson, the difference between estuaries and channels, Pete’s friend Tim, Predictions, Steve Bruce and a lack of enthusiasm for the World Cup and Pete has a rant about FIFA (instead of the FA this time), England and then London Transport Museum sock prices and Justin confesses to being a London Underground fan who’s favourite line is the Circle line. It's all go!

This is good! Part 2 of the post-match Reading reactions see Charlie/Sean lament that KFC isn't open but then reveals that Blue Cheese Brett is a stadium neighbour!!! We catch up with Jason Rose as he makes his way back to Wallingford and then Adam Leventhal once of Sky and now of the Athletic but always of Watford joins us to chat about Technical Directors, World Cup breaks and coverage and we take the opportunity to have a gratuitous discussion about beating Luton plus Pete tries to co-opt Adam and the World Cup into the strange cheesy goings on at DNSYE!

The first half of the Twitter Spaces post Reading. A strange game which never really burst into life and Pete seems to feel a bit odd about it, but we discover how good the burgers are at the top of Occupation Road and people point out to Pete, the good bits that went on today. Two lurkers - Woody and Steve jump the fence and we discover that Bretts wife wasn't all that impressed with drunken cheesy Brett on Saturday.
Part 2 out soon includes some great callers and an excellent last minute substitute appearance from Adam Leventhal (nee Emmenthal) that Pete seems intent to bribe into carry on the daft cheese shenanigans into the World Cup in the name of charity - but we also are bought up to date on the Technical Director news when Adam can finally pull Pete away from Cheese based idiocy.

We originally recorded a Reading preview on the day of the Queens passing, so the game was postponed. However, if we have one rule (that we don't ignore-ish) - we have to take a contestant's first answer!! We have to have some standards. So here is a sort of preview show that descends very quickly into one disaster after another involving Blue Cheese and Coventry but finally ends with a crescendo - before Pete forgets that Stilton is a blue cheese, and it all goes wrong again!!
Thanks to Mike Smart who provides our first (and very possibly last) addendum

Genuinely one of the most surreal Twitter Spaces we’ve had – and don’t forget that includes one where Carl was bitten by a horse – so that’s saying something!!!!
Mrs Wendover Horn makes a first appearance, Rich cuts a frustrated figure or half a figure, and then Carl and Brett who have been enjoying the delights of hospitality all day come on with a blue cheese fixation and one set of head phones between them, Uncle Ron quotes the “Smiths” and then starts talking about Oil Tankers before requesting that the squad be sent to an Army camp to be “tarred and feathered for the duration of the World Cup, Charlie then comes on pretending to be Sean (who simply wants have KFC and go home) and asks Pete lots of questions and then gives the Coventry pre match talk! Some great calls from other regulars and concerns over the fitness of the squad in the last two games before the World Cup Break.
Our condolences to the family of Ben Bray who passed away this week. COYH!

"What's the craic?" podcast lads Dave and Neil join us for the opposition view as Coventry City come to Vicarage Road. The lads bring us up to speed on their ownership issues and we mutually agree that the word "murky" is very well used when it comes to ownership in the Championship. We also look back to some of the players that the sky blues have enjoyed over the years and Pete explains why he and other Hornets may have been responsible for a Coventry manager ultimately getting the boot. On the prediction front Carl has taken a lead over Justin due to Justin predicting draws all the time, so Justin has started predicting wins and Carl is predicting draws again!!! Carl bangs on about being in hospitality for this game and Justin goes all very "zen" on us for a moment - so we take the piss out of him and suggest wearing in orange - which for once has nothing to do with our rivals up the road - who, if you didn't know, get battered everywhere they go.

3 wins on the spin and Justin and Carl are in charge of tonight's Spaces - people seem impressed and content with the direction things are moving under Bilic despite an injury list that reads like a phone directory! How many points do we think the injury depleted squad might be able to get before we have a chance to get players fit during the World Cup break. Greg is in a car park in CArdiff but cant remember his supermarket advert themes but fortunately Justin is here to correct him.
Coventry on Saturday!!

The Opposition View returns but Cardiff City podcast were unable to make Sunday to record in the end so we do it without them. The lads look back and discuss which was the better of the Luton 4-0 beatings 1997 or 2022 and then discuss the win at Wigan. We review a list of 50 Pozzo signings since Andre Gray and decide if they helped on the pitch for us or not (inspired by a tweet this week- credit anon). We finally reluctantly move onto the preview by choosing which of Cardiffs many left wingers offers the greatest threat and the silliest name before Justin again complains that he can't predict his score first and then complains (again) about scheduled tweets. Finally, Carl brings us up to date with the Fantasy Football league and how badly he and Justin are doing - which Justin fails to care about! On Wednesday we travel to Cardiff COYH!!!!

So, with some fearing an "after the Lord Mayors Show" style result we saw different qualities in a less enthralling game and performance than last week as we faced a home team who were prepared to match any work rate we might apply. In truth, this was a classic away smash and grab of a performance, but we saw character and determination which we hope will be a hallmark under Slaven Bilic. In other news the podcast is two years old, we got some contrasting reviews of the Wigan Kebab and Peter's attempt to create interest in making a Watford equivalent was received about as well as the last time he went banging on about white hankies!!! Justin got very upset about pre-programmed tweets which we all thought was very funny - mainly cos he didn't and Wendover Horn started singing and making requests (for once not of Mrs Wendover!!!). Two wins on the bounce and two clean sheets!!! Bring on Cardiff then!
Thank you so much for your support - it means the world to us.
