Autoimmune diseases are a huge issue, affecting over 80 million Americans. They include type 1 diabetes, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, colitis, Crohn’s disease, and dozens of others, but they all have one thing in common: The body attacks itself.
In this Episode 208, we have the pleasure of sitting down with Registered Dietitian, Food Educator, and Nutrition Counselor Rosalyn Renay. Rosalyn was diagnosed with Lupus at the age of 12 years old. Rosalyn fought lupus throughout all adolescent and early adult years. Eventually she changed her diet and switched to a plant-based diet among other lifestyle changes. This ultimately led to Rosalyn being lupus free and completely undetected in her blood work report. In this episode we discuss common indicators of lupus, traditional treatments and medications used to treat lupus, the relationship between lupus and hormones, and more. Please be sure to share this episode with anyone you may know who's struggling with an autoimmune disease.
