My guest this week is Keri Ford, a high performance life coach. What’s a high performance life coach, you ask? Keri helps people (mostly women) elevate their life in all regards: health, wealth, relationships, fitness, and overall wellness.
Keri feels like she has lived 10 different lives. She got her degree in Advertising & Graphic Design at the University of Delaware, but after joining the workforce, she found herself struggling with her weight and with disordered eating, and feeling purposeless, unfocused, tuned out, and unfulfilled, despite having a cool job. So she quit her job, packed up, and moved to L.A. Her parents, after helping her pay for her college education and watching her work her butt off in a competitive major, were completely dumbfounded.
She got her certification in personal training in 2008. She was able to get her foot in a gym and shadowed celebrity trainers. All the pieces fell into place, and after doing nutrition and fitness coaching, she discovered the mindset behind the behaviors and the light bulb went on.
So what can we learn from Keri’s story?
- Most people don’t understand. Sometimes you need support from other entrepreneurs who also feel like the black sheep in their families
- Find your voice, and find your why. When you find your value and your purpose, you can then share it with others.
- Hire a coach to call you out on your own BS. Having awareness is one thing, but making changes and creating new habits based on that awareness is another.
