Do You Actually Like...?

Oh nostalgia, isn't it just a hell of a drug... Take a trip down memory lane with us, as we talk all things LEGO. That's right! Those tiny colourful bricks you maybe haven't played with since you were a kid? That's what we are talking about today. And boy howdy, if you like facts this is the episode for you. I don't think we have ever done so much research! It's our winter themed episode! (Frozen does not count.) Listen as Brigitta and Andrea give a brief history of winter's most alpine sport! Or is it Nordic? It's that special time where celebrations of the best movies of the year devolve into arguments of epic snubberies, "I can't believe they got nominated for thats" (but seriously what's the opposite word for snub?), and heated debates over who deserves which awards the most. In this latest episode Brigitta and Andrea prove they aren't better than the rest of them and do exactly that! Listen as Andrea almost collapses with having to pick between two Best Picture nominees and Brigitta fully backs one movie to win as many awards as possible. Do we actually like this years Oscar nominations? In the epic words of Oscar winner Sally Field: "We like them! We really really like some and are super confused by others of them!" Well she said something like that.... Oh and we sprinkle in some general facts about the Academy Awards, if that's your thing.

Brigitta takes us through an orderly trip down memory lane while Andrea goes for a "thematic" approach. Are we ever going to come up with a better name for the "Twenty Tens"? Do we deserve one?? Find out if we actually liked this decade on a personal, pop cultural, and, of course, historical level.

Well technically Elsa is a queen, but whatever. Does it have flaws? Duh! Does it also have an 80s ballad with a reindeer chorus? Of course! Does Elsa wear controversial leggings? Unfortunately yes! Could a fire lizard/salamander survive in semi-fictional Scandinavia? Nobody knows!

Well if it isn't finally the end of the year of our lord 2019 AD. And hasn't this year just been kick you in the crotch, spit on your neck fantastic?  This is of course a rhetorical question, but just in case you aren't sure whether you actually like 2019 or not, do we have the year in review for you! Andrea and Brigitta go over the best things they have read, listened to, watched (both big screen and small screen), and eaten, while trying desperately to not let the horrifying year that has been dampen their spirits (spoiler alert, spirits are dampened despite Andrea's best efforts). We're talking about the original trilogy, we're talking about how George Lucas keeps messing with the movies, and we're talking about why the hell Chewie didn't get a medal at the end of Episode IV. And dude, of course we are talking about the fact that the siblings Skywalker are clearly not intended to be siblings from the get go. If you are a Star Wars mega fan, or considering whether to dive into this iconic trilogy of trilogies for the first time, this is the episode for you! Spoiler are ahead though, so tread with caution.

Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas! Or wait, was that too soon? It is the first week of December after all... Should we even be listening to christmas music already?
