First, the cash register turned out to be empty, which makes the rest of his adventure totally NOT worth it. Police followed his footsteps in the snow and when the guy made a run for it over an icy river, the ice broke, he fell in the freezing water and refused to be rescued...for about half-an-hour. He was ready for help after that.
