Happy New Years, DTD-ers!  We're back with a brand new minisode.  This week, we kick off the year with a discussion of the punk rock phenomena of "Good Band, Bad Influence," which refers to classic bands that are maybe a little TOO popular, because they are often cited by not-so-classic bands as key influences.  But in typical DTD salon fashion, other intellectually stimulating topics enter into the mix (shout out to The Chase Theory), and the episode winds up being about GBBIs as much as that one Seinfeld episode is about eating at a Chinese restaurant.  Know what we mean?  Of course you do!   That's why we're friends.  And more importantly, that's why you're a faithful DTD listener who's gonna give this episode a listen RIGHT NOW!

"Bane, Bane, they're good for your heart / The more you listen, the more you understand that they were an influence for Have Heart"  That's right, DTD-ers!  We're beginning our episode description with that famous couplet, so you KNOW we've got something good in store for you.  This week, we're talking HOLDING THESE MOMENTS (2020), the recent BANE doc directed by Dan Elswick.   It's a fun, and unexpectedly touching, one.  But fear not, friends, we deliver exactly what you'd expect -- including Pete eating a hut dug, Geoff wearing a leather duster; and Matt analyzing verb tense usage.   Put simply, it's hardcore for the hardcore.  So if you want your hardcore friends to continue to like and respect you, you're gonna need to give this ep a listen, STAT!

Seasons Greetings,  Docs Till Death-heads!  This week, the DTD crew takes a detour from their epoch-defining discussions of punk and hardcore docs, and instead we take an inner journey to discover the real meaning of punk.  And wouldn't you know it!  By the end of their journey -- which includes visits from past, present, and future punk and hardcore luminaries -- we actually do discover the true meaning of punk!  It's a crustpunkmas miracle!!  God save the queen, everyone!!  (If none of what we've just said makes any sense, then you need to listen to the episode.  All will be revealed.  And what are you waiting for, anyway?  You know you want to avoid your family.  So just go ahead and get antisocial: put those headphones on NOW, turn us up, and tune them out!)
