What do you do when you realize you love your job but it's no longer your passion? Find another passion. For Dr. Dena George she found a love of marketing through storytelling. Most physicians don't know how to go about sharing their practice and their message with the world, but Dena does.

Dr. George now works part-time as a physician, a coach, and a marketing strategist using the StoryBrand formula. She loves to help physicians and those in the field of medicine to find the stories that will resonate with their clients and customers. She added in coaching when she realized how many of us struggle with having the confidence to do and be our best.

The StoryBrand formula has helped her to build a business that she loves. She has so much fun amplifying the voice of her clients and pushing them to take their rightful place in their niche. Even when it makes them uncomfortable.

  • 196: Solocast - Frequently Asked Questions About the Burntout to Badass Course

What would it mean to you to no longer feel like you are on the brink of collapse? How would it feel to wake up each morning feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and ready to conquer the world? It would be amazing right?

If you're at or nearing burn out, then the only thing you'll be feeling is exhausted, overwhelmed, and ready to quit. After experiencing my own form of burn out, I vowed to help my fellow medical professionals get off the hustle bus and onto the path of healing.

Which is when I started coaching, but coaching is not feasible for everyone… it's true. It's taken me months, but I've finally put together a beautiful course to help you find your balance and stave off burn out. Between me and the wonderful team that I've employed to help make it happen you will be well taken care of.

Listen in to learn more about the course through the frequently asked questions I keep getting. But if you're thinking to yourself, "I just don't have the money." I have a question to ask you… how much money would you pay to never feel burned out again? How much money would you pay to tap into a wealth of energy and passion that you forgot existed?

You have the money… but do you have the will and the drive to do the work and leave burn out behind forever?

    In this episode:

[01:43] Ever wondered how many medical professionals experience burn out at any one time?

[02:28] Well… Errin's got the remedy! Her course Burned Out to Badass.

[03:41] The number one question Errin gets - What are we going to do and what am I going to learn in this course?

[06:56] What if you can't make time for the live calls?

[07:42] Third most common question is can we have a different day and time?

    [08:53] What if I can't afford this?

[10:12] The final most asked questions are - What if I don't know what I want to do now, what if I don't know what kind of job I want to do next or what if I don't even know what that best life is?

[11:14] If you have questions, drop Errin a line anytime.

[11:41] Get on and let's go from burnt out to badass!

  • 193: Non-Clinical Careers with Dr. Sylvie Stacy

There you are living your life-long dream of becoming a doctor when you look up one day and realize that this was not what you thought it would be. Maybe you love the science. Maybe you love the work. Maybe you love everything except actually practicing medicine.

There's nothing wrong with wanting a medical career that has nothing to do with practicing medicine. Many medical students realize quickly that while they love medicine, they hate patient interaction and the rounds of true clinical care.

Newsflash, people with medical degrees are a necessity in many organizations and not all of them are practicing in offices or hospitals. Dr. Sylvie Stacy struggled through her first years of residency because she realized that while she loved medicine, she knew regular clinical practice wasn't for her.

She developed a quiz to help other practitioners determine if perhaps other avenues would be appropriate for their skills and through her research realized that there were no solid resources outlining other career paths. So she wrote her own. Listen in to learn more about her story and how you too can find joy in your work again.

"Hey, I'm wired a little differently, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong or broken." Errin Weisman

[07:45] Do you know what your superpowers are?

[08:37] Dr. Stacy discusses what motivated her to write the book.

[10:09] Dr. Stacy believes that physicians stay as clinicians throughout their entire careers because they think that is expected of them.

[11:53] Errin shares her husband's struggle when he wanted to step away from education.

[14:10] Dr. Stacy says there is a lot of peer pressure in a clinical setting and it can get negative if you talk about leaving clinical medicine.

[16:38] Dr. Stacy shares about her book, what it's about, and where you can get it.

[19:13] Thank you so much for coming on the podcast, Dr. Stacy.
