Dog Star Oracle Report

The New Moon in Libra arrives on October 10th, and a diplomatic, peacekeeping Libra lunation this is not. This energy is dominated by the spicy Venus Retrograde, which stationed in Scorpio on October 3rd, and won’t be direct again until November 13th.

Themes around this lunation may involve “breaking up” with something in your life. Libra rules relationship contracts and the rules of polite society. Venus, which rules this New Moon, is in a sign where she is not afraid to fight for what she wants and to go it alone if she has to. This is not a New Moon about keeping the peace, but about fighting for justice.

In Scorpio, Venus is interested in depth and emotional honesty. Ruling women, femmes, and queer people, Venus is also precisely in a turbulent square with Mars, planet of desire, heat, and conflict during this New Moon. This can represent breaking with societal norms while fighting for justice and equality, or that asking for what you truly desire may rattle a few feathers.

The Full Moon in Aries is here and she’s NOT playing around! The Full Moon is in the fiery, action-driven sign of Aries. Ruled by Mars in passionate, tender Cancer in its final degrees, this might represent an emotional conclusion to something in the Cancer or Aries sector of your chart. This also might represent a time to take action, to dance away some tension and move your body. At the same time, this lunation is also connected to Neptune. Neptune represents connection to higher realms and the great mysteries of the universe. You may be drawn inward - this is a powerful lunation to have Spirit speak to you through dreams, meditation, and creative visualization. However, Neptune is also a confusing, foggy influence, sometimes leaving us with more questions than answers. One thing seems clear, though - this Full Moon will be asking “what are you fighting for?” What motivates and inspires you?Learn what’s up in the cosmos in the collective and for your sign, plus a ritual to help you connect to this Full Moon’s energy. After an especially tumultuous eclipse season, the New Moon in Virgo is a grounded reset for our frazzled nervous system. Virgo helps us to organize chaos and settle back into a routine. This New Moon is also in flowing aspect to Mars, which adds an energizing factor to this lunation, helpful for getting going on a plan or tackling a to-do list. Meanwhile, Mercury, the planet of communication and messages - the ruler of Virgo, is in a foggy, confusing opposition to Neptune, indicating that there are blind spots around this New Moon, requiring us to be led by faith as well as our logic. Use your discernment and proceed as best you can.

The dramatic Lunar Eclipse in Pisces arrives August 27th, asking you to release, surrender, and heal - closing out a 2 year chapter that began in September 2024 with the first eclipse in this series. This eclipse is also full of surprises, shocks, twists, turns, and breakthroughs. And no, this is not just hyperbole for the algorithm! This eclipse is also a Full Moon, and we might consider this one a Full Moon on steroids. Eclipses are already wild cards, and this one is doubly so as it is tightly square Uranus, the planet of liberation, disruption, and revolution, currently transiting the sign of Gemini. We might feel extra restless, we will want to break existing patterns, and bring in radical change into our lives. This could also just be dealing with a few curveballs we weren’t expecting. Finally, at the same time, Mercury will be completing a cazimi in Virgo - a conjunction with the heart of the sun. There is a resetting of intentions, planning, making lists, and getting things in order. In other words, this eclipse is BUSY. The potent, dramatic Solar Eclipse in Leo arrives August 12th, shaking up the Leo sector of your birth chart. Solar Eclipses can coincide with far-reaching beginnings, like a potent New Moon, but as this is also connected to the South Node, there can also be an ending or rebalancing connected to this energy as well. Co-present with benefic Jupiter, there is also a possibility that this eclipse brings some opportunity or expansion into your life as well.

Collectively, this energy is tied to sudden changes in leadership, or established "kings" and leaders grapping with a sudden shift in power. Leo = rulers and kings, and eclipses are notorious for bringing sudden shifts in who has political power.

Welcome to this supersized Full Moon forecast! The Full Moon in Aquarius has a LOT going on with it, so we had a lot to talk about. This Full Moon activates the much-buzzed about Barbault’s Basket - an astrological configuration of (mostly) harmonious aspects between Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, Pluto, and now Jupiter in Leo. The Full Moon in Aquarius activates this energy, so we will start to see what this story represents in the collective. The Full Moon is directly opposite Jupiter conjunct the Sun in Leo, known as a “cazimi” in which Jupiter, the planet of growth and expansion, is reborn in the heart of the Sun, the place of divine wisdom in our solar system. So while this Full Moon is happening in the Aquarius part of your chart, there is some sort of rebirth or activation happening in the Leo part of your chart as well. Needless to say, there is a LOT of Astrology to talk about. Aster is back for this episode and he brings his Tarot insights for each rising sign and for the collective forecast. What does this Full Moon mean for you? Listen to the episode to find out! Jupiter, the greater benefic, planet of growth, opportunity, blessings, entered Leo on June 30th where it will remain until July 27, 2027!

Jupiter in the sign of Leo will prompt more heartfelt expression in the collective, and it’s co-presence with the South Node there will also mean a stripping away of the artificial, as well as anything you’ve outgrown in the Leo part of your chart. Jupiter in Leo also means blessings, opportunities, and growth in the Leo sector of your chart as well. What does Jupiter in Leo mean for you and the collective?
