Do I stop my puppy from biting?

So how do you stop an unwanted behavior? Punishment? so what is the proper punishment for a biting puppy? Curl the dogs upper lips into the dogs mouth and the dog will bite itself, stick your thumb or finger into the puppies mouth and push down on the tongue, use a pet convincer (compressed air) and correct the dog, use a bonker ( a cotton towel) and bonk the dog.
