To help understand what—if anything—can be undertaken to stop the spread and harm caused by IBSA,  Christopher Murphy is joined by Marthe Goudsmit Samaritter to explore not only the impact of IBSA on victims but also to discuss the legal, ethical, and social dimensions of this crime.

Die meisten Länder Lateinamerikas haben den Femizid – also die vorsätzliche Tötung von Frauen aufgrund ihres Geschlechts – bereits spezifisch strafrechtlich geregelt, sei es als eigenständiger Straftatbestand oder als erschwerender Umstand. In diesen Ländern verhandeln spezialisierte Gerichte diese Fälle von Gewalt an Frauen. In Deutschland hingegen ist man noch weit entfernt davon. Selbst die Definition des Begriffs „Femizid“ ist umstritten.
