Blow into your cartridges, grab your snacks, and make sure you remember to bring a memory card! On this week's episode of Domestic Pints ONLY, Tom and John discuss the retro-gaming themed Edmonton joint ANALOG BREWING. We chat a little bit about this brewery (do note that we discussed some of their selections previously in our IPA week and Edmonton limited edition stout episodes), before moving onto the beer. We first try out the radically labelled RETRO STYLEZ pre-prohibition cream ale. After this crushable bevvy we plug in our extra controller to try out READY PALER TWO NEIPA, and we also spend some time discussing conspiracy theories. Last up is the tasty and decadent POWER UP PORTER. We had a blast sampling these quirky and fun selections, if you're in Edmonton be sure to visit Analog Brewing!

We are INTO THE CIDER-VERSE this week on Domestic Pints ONLY, in our first ever 'battle of the ciders' - we are chatting a matchup of some of the most popular domestic ciders in the country. First we chat about the history of ciders and the different types and characteristics before discussing the popular SOMERSBY apple cider. Next up we chat STRONGBOW dry cider, before ending with the popular BC selection OKANAGAN CRISP APPLE cider. We also take a quick break at roughly the 40 min mark to sample some cider and beer together (colloquially known as a 'snakebite'). Had a fun time sampling these tasty bevvies. We hope to return back to ciders in a future episode, possibly sampling some of the options on the craft market.

Next we return back to our stomping grounds, chatting some 'western' bargain bin beers!

Next is the New England-style IPA LIFE IN THE CLOUDS. Next up is a first for the pod, as we also review the dry the unfilited dry cider NATURE OF THINGS. Worth noting that all of us had cans with different designs (see our post on Instagram to see the can art). Had a fun time with this nice variety of drinks. Collective Arts beers and ciders are available all across the country!

We're heading to the grocery store this week on Domestic Pints ONLY, and we're coming home with some CO-OP brand beers from the Variety Pack box. We chat a bit about these beers (produced by Calgary's own Big Rock Brewing) before giving a rating to the cans. We then delve into the lineup: Lager, Light Lager, IPA, Pilsner, and the irreverent Red Ale. 

This was one of our wildest episodes yet: featuring some strong surprise beers that we loved, and a couple of our lowest scores TO DATE. Overall, it was an experience. If you're having a "challenging day", check out these cheapo domestic beers!

On this milestone episode of Domestic Pints ONLY, we celebrate our 50th episode by sampling some iconic mid-20th century Canadian beers, which were the kind of beers your dad or grandpa enjoyed in little stubbie bottles! We start off with the aptly named LABATT 50. We then proceed to the classic and internationally popular CARLING BLACK LABEL. We wrap up with a celebrated beer that originated in the United States in the 19th century, but is now produced today under the Molson label - OV (or alternatively known as 'Old Vienna'). We recommend you check these beers out as they all were a pleasant surprise. Next week we return to the craft scene to sample some select Gose sour beers.
