16-year-old Sylvia Likens had her entire life ahead of her. A confident, outgoing, and pretty girl whose parents worked very busy schedules far away from home in order to make ends meet. As a result, Sylvia lived with her caregiver, Gertrude Baniszewki, who at first treated Sylvia and her sister, Jenny, very kindly. However, due to late caregiving payments from Sylvia's parents, Gertrude began verbally and physically abusing Sylvia. Sylvia was tortured in some of the most brutal ways imagined, which lead to her death. 

Evil exists, and this is proof of it. 

In this week's episode, we dive into part 2 of the Oklahoma City Bombing. 

We discuss how Timothy McVeigh planned the biggest Domestic terrorist attack, the aftermath of the bombing, his capture, and his death.

On April 19, 1995, the nation was rocked with the most heinous act of domestic terrorism ever committed. 

Timothy McVeigh and his accomplice Terry Nichols carried out the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing that killed 169 people, injured 680 others, and destroyed one third of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. 

In part one of our episode, we will go into detail of who Timothy McVeigh was, and how his early life, military career, and post military life created the Timothy McVeigh we all know (the BIGGEST domestic terrorist in the history of the United States).

Even more frightening, there have been numerous paranormal encounters visitors have experienced while staying at the Lizzie Borden murder house in Fall River, Massachusetts, which now operates as a bed and breakfast.

In this episode we discuss the raid of Kingsbury Run by decorated detective Eliot Ness, the possible victims of the Cleveland Torso Killer, and potential suspects. The Cleveland Torso Killer (aka The Mad Butcher of Kingsbury Run) was an unidentified serial killer who was active in Cleveland, Ohio during the 1930s and is notorious for being one of the most gruesome serial killers of all time. 

To get an idea of how gruesome his crimes were, the killings were characterized by the dismemberment of twelve known victims and the disposal of their remains in the impoverished neighborhood of Kingsbury Run, with most of the victims coming from an area East of Kingsbury Run called The Roaring Third. 

We present the first of this 2 part episode about the Cleveland Torso Killer. For part 1, we will present the socio-economic background of Kingsbury Run, accompanied with thorough discussion of each of the Cleveland Torso Killer murders.

January 15, 1947 – The day began as any other day, beautiful weather with people out on their morning walks. However, for a woman named Betty Bersinger, this turned from an ordinary morning walk into a horrendous nightmare. As Betty Bersinger walked along Leimert Park, she noticed what at first seemed like a mannequin. She got closer and saw one of the most horrific and notorious murders the United States has ever seen. Staring back at her was not a mannequin, but rather the lifeless body of Elizabeth Short, also known as The Black Dahlia

The Black Dahlia Murder remains as one of the greatest unsolved crimes today. Many people believe George Hodel to be the killer for many reasons. In fact, if you google “who murdered the black dahlia”, his name instantly appears. We at DFTR Podcast do not believe this to be the case. In this episode, we attempt to debunk many popular theories about Elizabeth Short (aka The Black Dahlia), discuss her life, and present our picks for the 7 main suspects:
