Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of John 6:27 which says "Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”

"Don’t work as if you’re only working to afford these nice things Do not spend every waking hour working to then spend your money on the IG aesthetic home. Don’t work so hard on posting the perfect picture looking for the algorithm to applaud you. This verse is talking about Food that spoils, but that doesn’t mean all things that spoil are tangible. It could be the vanity we seek, the attention we need.

 

Instead let’s focus on food that endures eternal life. Jesus has given us the spirit. The fruit of the spirit is simple, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

 

Let’s focus on that today. Let’s focus on the joy of the Lord. Let’s focus on peace. Let’s work towards kindness. Let’s be good to one another.

 

Let’s fix our eyes on the eternal."
