We will share with you some things that we have seen or experienced in the yoga and wellness spaces that can be considered gatekeeping and how we navigated those experiences. Today we are going to talk about gatekeeping. What is it? Are we knowingly or unknowingly participating in this practice? What are some ways we can make yoga accessible? And how can we continue to share this practice in equitable ways. This is one of two-part series, next week we will talk about experiences with gatekeeping.

There is a lot of ableist language occurring around the covid 19 pandemic and part of our practice is to do no harm and this type of language and communication is harmful to many marginalized groups of people. In this podcast, we talk about the ways we can create space for our experiences throughout this pandemic and remind us to keep ahimsa (non-violence) a part of our yoga teaching and lives.
