Down To Watch

Down to Watch went back to 1974's Mel Brooks classic (cult?) Blazing Saddles! Groundbreaking in its time, brazen against bigotry and also a real dumb movie (Mel said it!) , this one took some of us back to inappropriate childhood viewing and was a first for the others. Wanna know how to lure some kkk members over to steal their costumes? We'll show ya!

Bonus DTW nTheaters for you guys! We definitely had to watch Get Out and talk about it, and you should too! This movie is great, and we had a fun time talking about all the performances, themes of the movie and how it played with cliches and tropes of the horror and comedy genres. Be warned, it's all spoilers so just go watch the movie!

Sci-fi cowboys and philosophical musings abound this week! The DTW team rides into HBO's Westworld this week and shucks howdy they sure had a lot to say about it. Plenty of commentary about the show overall but the podcast covers some of the twisty plot so it's gonna sound crazy if you haven't watched yet. Go ahead and take a listen, and try doing the robot, maybe you're a host too!

The DTW crew goes farther into space than ever before in this week's throwback movie, 1997s Contact! Join Jodie Foster and company on an interstellar adventure to discover dead dad aliens? Spoiler what? Check it out!

This week In Theaters has the DTW crew talking about John Wick Chapter 2. Thats right, the Boogeyman, Baba Yaga himself. It's a little tangent heavy at first and the end gets a little socially conscious but that middle section, hoo boy! Just listen to the whole podcast, it'll be great!

Throwback Thursday at DTW shines a spotlight on the 1981 John Landis horror-comedy An American Werewolf in London! Is it a cult classic? Is it a horror with jokes or a comedy with a monster? Are sex scenes necessary? We're talking about nazi monsters gunning down a family, a car pileup that goes bananas and a hilarious exchange in a background porn film! All these things and more on DTW-TT.

This week on DTW_TV Dan, Mike and Raul watched the second season of Lovesick, formerly known as Scrotal Recall! See if you can figure out what happened on this charming chronological mishmash! Is it day or night? It's England!

It's throwback time at Down to Watch, as the guys talk about the terror (or comedy?) of the Stanley Kubrick classic, The Shining! Try to figure out what Mike thinks is so funny about all this blood while Dan and Raul trade theories and discuss approaching this film from many angles. Also, Mike doesn't like clowns!

Join the DTW crew as they go on a harrowing mission in a galaxy far far away, just don't expect us to remember the name of the planet! In this episode we discuss the star wars side story, Rogue One. Are we one with the force or is our lack of faith disturbing? Gonna have to listen to find out...

Down to Watch went back to the theater to check out La La Land, thanks to the survey results. Dan, Raul and Mike get into a little social discourse behind the production but quickly get back to what they thought about the movie. Please to enjoy!
