She has better...hot but not her best

I am big a fan of Ms. Kitt and if you are too then this book is OK not her best, but if you are new to her work start with the Babysitting the Bs book. This is an afternoon delight compare to some of her others that are real 3 alarm fires when it comes to erotica.

Soooooo much better than 50 shades

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I read this book in high school and after a very disappointing experience with 50 Shades (even the sex scenes couldn't make up for the weak writing), I turned to lady Chatterley. Veronika Hyks is an intoxicating storyteller. This seductive story can't be beat.

satisfying on both counts

If you want something racy AND literary, this audiobook is satisfying on both counts, due in large part to the excellent narration by Veronika Hyks.

When two worlds collide

With all the fuss about 50 shades I thought it would be good to go back to the most contentious novel of its time - and one I had never read. Lawrence uses the sex to illustrate two worlds clashing: the sophisticated, well-informed and utterly sterile world of the landed gentry in post WWI England and the earthy, honest, horny world of the staff working for them. It is a predictable plot, but the characterisation is what sets it apart. DHL creates vivid characters with real concerns, vital passions and sometimes hopeless lives. He writes with intimacy and this has led to the huge reaction from critics and sensors. You'd get rougher language on the back of a Sunday newspaper but you'd have none of the social commentary and the carefully dissected social structure. Go on and read it - if you can wrestle it away from your granny. The narration is absolutely fantastic - it is sometimes difficult to imagine the speaker is a woman, her modulation is so dynamic. Extra Brownie points to Veronika Hyks - much of the enjoyment of the novel is due to her acting ability.

Don't play aloud in mixed company

I don't think of myself as a prude. However, the racy parts are, well...still racy today. This is a fine classic. One of the best. Superb narration.

Incomplete book.

How can you charge for something without saying you only have 4 chapters available. Volume one alone has 13 chapters. So disappointed!

Masterpiece?

I found the book to be pretty disappointing overall and would not classify it as a masterpiece. My criteria for a good reader is for them to be able to read in such a way that fools your mind into thinking they are the actual authors; in that regard, Richard Johnson does a stellar performance.

My problem with the book is the same problem I have with modern pornography. It is very degrading and disregarding of women. Every sexual encounter in the book starts with him either forcing kisses and touch on the house servants or relatives or with him paying for sex. Yes, at least as the author portrays it, all of the ladies come around to wanting it from him after he has forced himself upon and/or into them, but in all aspects of it, every initial encounter meets our modern definition of rape, attempted rape, or prostitution.

Read it if you want as a historical piece of erotica but please keep in mind the parallels between this work and modern pornography of men forcing themselves, whether painful or not, into women. And also please do not use this as an educational or inspirational piece of literature to model your life after or envy the young man in the book.

Finally, I'd highly recommend reading: Jackson Katz's "The Macho Paradox: Why Some Men Hurt Women and and How All Men Can Help" and then decide how you feel about this book and many other written and film works of erotica.

Pleasantly enchanting

I loved these erotic folktales - some more than others of course - and the expert narration heightens the experience nicely. It is well written and intelligent as far as the genre goes. Enchantment is an apt title as the stories are often mesmerizing and distinctly pleasurable.

Not what I'd call romance

The collection had good reviews and the sample sounded okay. The brief description led me to believe it was an erotic fantasy, but most of it was very creepy and strange. Sometimes disturbing and disgusting, I mean, come on... group rape? Chaining someone up and making them drink urine? Yeah, I didn't see a disclaimer; however, if I had any idea that was what the collection contained, there is no way I would have wasted my money on it.

Fun

I like fairy tales especially this kind of fairy tales. Wolves, dragoons, and witches with an attitude: nice and hot and chilling. Does anyone like a succubus? Then there is a story for you too.

Mildly Dark, highly erotic and entertaining

Janine Ashbless is a rare find- This set of darkly erotic fairy tales combines mythological fantasy, humor, the fire of the feminine cauldron, and the earthy tang of nature- All stories have a female 'heroine' and contain mild graphic eros that a woman with an intrepid imagination and healthy sex drive will appreciate. Not to be missed by the adventurous seeker of quality erotica with a twist. The narrator is also very tolerable. Audible please get more Ashbless in the lists!

My kind of fairy tales!

A wonderful mix of fantasy and erotica. The writing is sensual, poetic and haunting, but still accessible and very titillating. I especially enjoyed the second and last stories. Intriguing to imagine what a dragon's tongue could do... I've already listened to it twice. Eat your heart out, Brothers Grim!

I've read it as a book, but as an audio book. Just wow. Just...It's the closest thing to actually receiving oral sex as a women can come, without actually having a partner. And yeah, we ALL deserve this little treat so, I would recommend it to anyone straight and female.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Oral Fantasies?

I'm pretty much in love with this whole book, but my personal favourite is when he asks "So what do you say, Baby? Do you wanna cum for me?". I get goosebumps. Real goosebumps.

What about The Grey Knights performance did you like?

Everything. The voice. The different characters. The sound effects. The way he makes the stories come alive so I can just close my eyes and it feels like he's there...

The Pony Girl Diva is, as the title promises, Lesbian D/s Erotica, but it is far more than just that. Jim Lyon makes the most of the short story format, giving us enough information on the characters to make us care, but keeping the focus largely on the details of the fantasy.

As the story opens, we are introduced to Mona, a celebrity pop star whose biggest hit is a fetish-themed song that she performs on stage in full pony-girl attire, with the whole world assuming it is merely an act. The more she plays the role, however, the more she craves it.

From there the story switches to Celeste, a professional trainer of pony-girls and pony-boys, as she prepares to break in a new stable of ponies. It is here where Lyon shows his true colors, somehow merging the violence of piercing, whipping, and gruelling physical training, with the beauty and the grandeur of formal pageantry. He really sells the fantasy, allowing reader to understand - and, perhaps, even long for - the pony experience.

Now, as to where Mona's story intersects with Celeste's, you can probably guess, but far be it from me to spoil the fun.

A Great Book For A Bargain

I loved that not only was their a great romance story in the book, but it was also very hot and spicy. Tons of voyeuristic naughty scenes that you may not want to listen to at work.

Enjoyable but annoying

I listen to my audible book and read along with my Kindle and it is so annoying when the narrator's reading does not match what is written in the Kindle book. And in this case the multiple mispronunciations are even more annoying.

The story itself is engaging and well written and the first thing I've read by this author but I look forward to additional books.
