Sweet love story
I admired Roseann's bravery to travel such a distance to marry a man she's never met. I can't imagine how frightening that would be. And Logan's tenderness and determination to provide a good and loving mother for his daughter is endearing. The narrator also did a good job. This was my first experience with this author's writing, and I do look forward to the next book. I was provided a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
A story of deperation that leads to love
Rose was running from witnessing a terrible crime. Logan was hiding what his job really was. Their lives intersect as Rose becomes Logan's mail-order-bride and new mother to his dauther. Their mutual secrets come to a head and both need to come clean and they must find grace and forgiveness for each other. But as they are discovering the truth about each other, outsiders try to tear them a part.
Maxine Douglas weaves a great story of two people doing what they must in order to survive and do what is best for Logan's daughter. I look forward to Book 2.
Although I enjoyed the story, it was difficult to listen to the story due to some production issues. I am sure that those problems will be settled before the next book.
This book was given to me and I have voluntarily given this honest review.
Looking for a mail order bride.
This, was a very good story. I loved how the story flowed and the characters. It was thrilling and exciting to see how it was going to end.
A believable story but narration has issues
I thought this was a good story with a good plot however the narration does take away from it. One has to wonder how many times something like this did happen back then. I have no trouble believing that someone became a mail order bride to outrun their past or to overcome issues. For me this would have been the best way to start over with a new life and a new name. I do not think that records or not many were kept back then on births and such. Here the author gives you a story of one woman agreeing to become a bride sight unseen and another woman who saw something she was not suppose to. She took the first womens place before her boss could have her arrested for his crimes. There is nothing worse than running scared going to a place that is wild and untamed to a man you know nothing about. I really enjoyed the story.
When listening to the sample the narration sound good but once you download it and start listening there are issues.
