    Publisher's Summary:
From Dallas Willard, one of the most important Christian intellectuals of the 20th century, comes a collection of readings, interviews, talks, and articles, many previously unpublished.
In his groundbreaking books The Divine Conspiracy, The Great Omission, Knowing Christ Today, Hearing God, The Spirit of the Disciplines, The Divine Conspiracy Continued, and The Allure of Gentleness, teacher, philosopher, and spiritual guide Dallas Willard forever changed the way many Christians experience their faith. Three years after his death, the influence of this provocative Christian thinker - "a man devoted to reestablishing the exalted place moral reasoning once held in the academy" (Christianity Today) - remains strong.
Compiled, edited, and introduced by his friend and fellow theologian, Gary Black, Jr., Renewing the Christian Mind is a collection of essays, interviews, and articles that brilliantly encapsulate Willard's spiritual philosophy and his contributions to theology.
Renewing the Christian Mind offers insight into spiritual formation, avocation, and theology and includes sections directed at specific audiences, from church leaders to laypeople looking for spiritual counsel and nurture. Reasoned, honest, thought-provoking, and illuminating, this important anthology is an invaluable introduction and companion to Dallas Willard's acclaimed body of work.

Opportunity to go deeper with Dallas Willard
This book is a great opportunity to go deeper in your understanding of the rich and fruitful thought of the great thinker and Christian, Dallas Willard. I have been incredibly blessed by reading several of his books and am now in the process of trying to read or listen to everything that he has written.
    Read with a notebook ready
This is not a book! It's an in-depth study of significant importance. It will explode your faith. For we who have mourned the loss of Dallas Willard's presence and his teachings, it's almost as if he came back...and brought the love of Christ with him. School is in session once again. With us as Christ's disciples, our Bibles, and this as our textbook, there is now a wonderful opportunity to be and make many more disciples! Thank you Gary And thank you Lord for lending Dallas to us in these difficult times!
    Hard to understand
He obviously has a vast knowledge but it is very wordy and hard to understand
    A wonderful compilation of insights
Many angles to the mind of a man who loved Christ and sought to share his experience always open to reality and how this relationship changes everything.
Essential Messages For Christians and the church
Life changing insight and direction from a wonderful man of God. I wish I had an opportunity to spend a day or ten learning from him.
The recording performance was good with some flaws. There were very pregnant pauses throughout, but far more annoying was a background ticking or smacking of lips; I couldnt discern. However, please dont allow this to prevent you obtaining the immense blessings of the book.

    Title: The Creed
Subtitle: Professing the Faith Through the Ages
    Author: Scott Hahn
    Narrator: Scott Hahn
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 4 hrs and 16 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 06-27-16
    Publisher: Emmaus Road Publishing
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 114 votes
    Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Christianity
    Publisher's Summary:
Why were the early Christians willing to die rather than change a single iota of the creed? Why have the Judeans, Romans, and Persians - among others - seen the Christian creed as a threat to the established social order? In The Creed: Professing the Faith Through the Ages, best-selling author Dr. Scott Hahn recovers and conveys the creed's revolutionary character.
Tracing the development of the first formulations of faith in the early church through later ecumenical councils, The Creed tells the story of how the very profession of our belief in Christ fashions us for heavenly life as we live out our earthly days.
    Members Reviews:
    Approachable, detailed and enlightening
Scott Hahn does an excellent job of showing how the whole of Salvation History is faithfully contained in the Creed. A must for anyone who is serious about understanding the faith of the Church founded by Jesus Christ and handed down through the apostles.
    An eye opener
The Creed have open my eyes to the beauty of our Creed. I highly recommend this.
A very good listening and plan on getting the book
I have many of Dr Scott Hahn's books and this one by far is the most fascinating one I heard on on audible so far andthis being my first time using audible, I do plan on buying the book.
    Excellent material read by author
What did you love best about The Creed?
Excellent presentation of material on the subject of the book. The material is accessible but not simplistic and can really help one grow in their understanding of not only Christian belief, but the importance of articulating it in concise formulas.
What other book might you compare The Creed to and why?
The Creed is similar in style to Hahn's other books.
What about Scott Hahns performance did you like?
He is a prayerful man of deep convictions who allows his life to be transformed by the truths he explores in his books. It is deeply edifying to listen to this material by the author who is not simply performing, but sincerely wants the listener to understand and experience the life giving power of the truths in the book.
Why Christians State What They Believe
Would you consider the audio edition of The Creed to be better than the print version?
I've had the book for months and have only gotten part way into to chapter 2. After a week with the audio book, I was already done. It's so much easier for me to find time to listen than to read. A book for which I have time is much better than a book I have no time to read.
What did you like best about this story?
Dr. Hahn does a great job of presenting the history of the how Christians have used creeds to protect the understanding of what God has revealed about Himself from being corrupted with errors (which were many throughout time).
What does Scott Hahn bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
Dr. Hahn is a great speaker, so his own voice inflection and passion helped bring the book alive.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
As a non-fiction book, it was good to digest it in pieces--mostly as I drove back and forth to work.
    Any additional comments?
Have you ever wondered how the early Christians fought off not only physical persecutions but also serious errors in teaching (both from within and from without)? Read this book.

    Audio is too distracting
The audio was so choppy. The first word(s) of every sentence was cut off for me, and it was very hard to listen to. All of Randy Clarks stuff is great, so I'm sure the content is wonderful, but it was super hard to focus with this audio recording. It also seemed like each sentence was recorded individually without actually reading within the context of the book. This made each sentence sound like a headline from a news anchor, which is not how I read a book. It just needs to sound more natural.
Should Listen To Reviews on this Narration...
How could the performance have been better?
I love Randy Clark and really, really wanted to listen to this today. I had read other reviews on the narration of this book, and even listened to the preview. I took a chance and purchased it anyway. I shouldn't have. Not only is the narration HORRIBLE, but the audio and sound quality is also TERRIBLE!!! Widely disappointed in this performance, and I was aware of the bad reviews, but was also very motivated to work with a bad narrator (to a certain degree) because I so wanted this book on audio. I couldn't finish it or pay attention. It's just too distracting to try and take it in. I will definitely seek this out in a paper back. I really enjoy Randy Clark's voice, tempo and cadence...sure wish he had of done his own narration on this one.
    terrible narrator
I just couldn't get past the second chapter. I sure the content is good but I just couldn't focus on what was being said. The narrator speaks every sentence as if he is doing an infomercial. It was too annoying to go any further. Please record this again with a different narrator.
best single resource I have read on healing
As an avid reader and author of a couple bestsellers on the topics of the kingdom of God and the authority of the believer myself, I have read multiple books on the subject of healing the sick. Randy Clark has knocked the ball out of the park with this book! It is by far the most complete and concise resource I have come across for believers who are seeking a deeper understanding of the healing power of Christ in their life! I applaud Mr Clark for writing this book and I will be recommending it to many people in the future who are on their own journey of discovery regarding the subject of healing.
    Great Book, Terrible Audio
This is such a great book with amazing content, but unfortunately the reading of it is very hard to listen to. The book has been read like its a movie trailer which is very hard to listen to and take in.

    Publisher's Summary:
First published in 1976, Paul Johnson's exceptional study of Christianity has been loved and widely hailed for its intensive research, writing, and magnitude. Weaving a great range of material, the scholar and author Johnson creates an ambitious panoramic overview of the evolution of the Western world since the founding of a little-known "Jesus sect".
With an unbiased and overall optimistic tone, Johnson traces the fantastic scope of the consequent sects of Christianity and the people who followed them, from the time of the apostle Paul through the Second Vatican Council. Information drawn from extensive and varied sources around the world makes this history as credible as it is reliable. Invaluable understanding of the framework of modern Christianity and its trials and tribulations throughout history has never before been contained in such a captivating work.

Read Brant Pitre's the case for Jesus instead.
He seems to take as fact the arguments of several atheist scholars who make it a goal to discredit the gospels instead of investigating the matter for himself. Of course there are conflicting writings. St Paul speaks of many teaching an alternative gospel. That is why the apocrypha weren't endorsed by those in the direct student-teacher line of the apostles aka the early church fathers. Also, all were written before the fall of Jerusalem 40 years after Jesus' death. I'm 75mn in and he hasn't gotten off that topic. I am returning this book.
An interesting and nuanced study of the topic.
I found new insights on the influences of the Bishop of Rome, l liked it.
    amen, eh
good stuff, lots to think about, i'm inclined to listen to the teaching of Jesus & St Paul and avoid the rest as mere mortals

The seventy-week prophecy of Daniel 9 includes the most incredible validation of Jesus Christ as the Messiah, which he held them accountable to have known.
In a confidential briefing to his disciples, Jesus also highlighted this passage as the key to understanding all other prophecies concerning his return. It is essential to understanding the book of Revelation and other related passages.

    Chuck Missler's Daniels 70 Weeks
Chuck Missler is without a doubt one of Christianity's Leading Theologians. I appreciate his insight into The Book Of Daniel. this book is thought provoking in its entirety. well performed by Ken Miller. I highly recommend it. Pastor Bill Haile Sr. Author of A Walk in Assurance Sustained By Faith and A Time Of Awakening the David Cross Chronicles.
    A bit disjointed
I appreciate Chuck's intelligent overview but expected a bit more depth to the subject matter and correct scriptural observation, ie. in Revelation, referring to the location of the lamp stands which he says are the church, they are in heaven in chapter 4, indicating the raptured church is in heaven. I find no mention of any lamp stands or church saints in that chapter.
Anyway, as an overview it's worth listening to. If you want more depth listen to something else.
    awesome teaching!
As usual Chuck Misses teaching is excellent. Could've had a better narrator though .
    Excellent
Very thorough investigation and review connecting Matthew 24, Luke 21 and Mark... What must come to pass, before the end of Days. The rebuilding of the Temple... Etc.
An insightful book on a remarkable topic

God has provided a way for all people, not just scholars, to know that the Bible is the word of God. John Piper has devoted his life to showing us that the glory of God is the object of the soul's happiness. Now, his burden in this book is to demonstrate that this same glory is the ground of the mind's certainty.
God's peculiar glory shines through his word. The spirit of God enlightens the eyes of our hearts. And in one self-authenticating sight, our minds are sure, and our hearts are satisfied. Justified certainty and solid joy meet in the peculiar glory of God.

    Needs a different narrator
Maybe other listeners are enjoying this reading just fine, but to my ear, the narrator seems to have an edge to his voice, as if the text is his side of an argument that is starting to irritate him. I don't sense any affinity for the content or for John Piper's voice. If the audiobook were the only way to read it, I would stick with it, but since an ebook is available I am going to switch to it.
    a peculiar glory
the narrators voice on this one was challenging to listen to. the book is invaluable!
    Wonderful
I truly appreciate the work and prayer put into this book. I learned a great deal about our Lord, His Word, His Church and His Glory! I am excited about Part 2!
    A Peculiar Book
I was expecting a more scholarly approach and was therefore, initially, disappointed... but I was quite satisfied by the time I finished... the concept I found most intriguing was the insight on the necessity of "trading of the glorification of oneself to the glorification of God" and it's resulting ramifications... I'm glad I read this book and look forward to Volume 2... I might suggest a book description which is more reflective of the main thrust of its objective...
Excellent Review of the Veracity of Scripture
I was thoroughly encouraged by this book, I think you will enjoy it too! It was a delight to listen to, I'm looking forward doing it again.

    Release date: 03-31-16
    Publisher: Blackstone Audio, Inc.
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 36 votes
    Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Christianity
    Publisher's Summary:
Freedom of the Will is a deeply affecting Christian text that serves as a philosophical guide to the free will of people, their moral agency, and our accountability to God.
Jonathan Edwards was a Protestant theologian and a leading revivalist preacher during the Great Awakening. Edwards wrote Freedom of the Will in the 18th century while working as a missionary to a tribe of Housatonic Native Americans in Massachusetts. He carefully drew out the differences of thought between the Calvinist and Arminian theologies and sided with the Calvinist views on humanity's will. Edwards sought to understand God's foreknowledge and how it related to free will and the ability to choose between good and evil. Ultimately, he concluded that to find salvation we must accept God's grace and trust in what is good, which God has foreordained, and use our free will to seek it out in all our choices.
    Members Reviews:
    Loved it!
Theology matters. That's why my library is full of books like this one, Freedom of the Will. This book is for the Christian who wants to go deeper in understanding theology, and how we sometimes come to different conclusions, while still believing in the essentials. Because we are fallen, there are divisions and disagreements within Christ's Body as how to interpret the Word. I believe that Jonathan Edwards rightly handled the Scriptures, and did take the time to address different interpretations, such as Arminian theology vs Reformed theology.
Bob Souer once again, does what he does best. The accomplished and very talented narrator did not disappoint. His crisp, clear and thoughtful delivery was so nice to listen to, and made the book all the more enjoyable.
    Five stars for this one!
Overwhelming at times - not to the author's fault
Edwards was a brilliant man, with a vocabulary far surpassing the limitations of my own! haha This book was a bit over my head at times, I admit, but still I enjoyed it and was able to follow it more often than not!
This book is missing the last 3 sections of part 4
Great theological work but the audio version is missing the last 3 sections of part 4 and the conclusion.
Kevin Hughes review of Freedome of the Will
This is an excellent book. the Lord surely blessed Edwards' pen. the book begins with a lengthy section defining terms. This may seem tedious but actually is extremely helpful because in the end the force of Edwards' arguments cannot be escaped by even the most shrewd of all Arminians.
The book expressly reveals the foolishness of a doctrine of "free will" and makes very clear that atheism, Arminian thought, and essentially any other folly is inescapably just that, folly and absurdity of the highest degree.
