A good next installment to a unique series.

More battles, more lives lost, more evil magic and more fae creatures. Among this chaos Avery, the Seelie king, discovers his fated queen Selene, a Wisher fae just coming into her powers (and not knowing what is happening to her). Stories from different realms weave through the main (?) story of Avery and Selene. We learn more of Kamon, see the real start of a war between the wolves and evil vampires, and are thrown a hint of a Tuath Stag thought extinct or only a legend that has great power with destiny. All this could appear confusing and a bit disjointed. But, hang in there, it eventually makes sense and moves the reader to possible future events. I actually got a kick out of Selene wishing some yuck karma on various arrogant and self-absorbed humans -- from smokers who blow smoke in your face to killers of wolves for fun and profit to people mean to animals. Altogether, a read I enjoyed (even though I would have liked an author's nod toward the friendship between Selene and Diana from the previous book, "The Goblin King"). So far, the Goblin king is still my favorite. Since there are 13 supernatural kings, there are 8 more books to go! Quite selfishly, I hope Ms. Killough-Walden can keep it going.

Interesting

Ok I was slightly disappointed in how this book went alittle but anyways, it had far to many snippets for my liking embedded into the whole novel. Yes it was still an awesome read but it took a lot away from the main characters I was hoping it'd be more centered around the main characters but it kept branching off when it was just starting to get good. A lot of pages consisted of the seelie realm and after the first three pages it just dragged on. The parts where it branched off had no definition or explained what dannai and Lalaura had to go through when they went on their mini mission. I won't spoil anything but I can say the last fight avery and Selene ported into with Damon choi nearly broke my heart with the deaths that happened and the fight itself was unimaginable I never saw it coming, there's one thing you can garantee when it comes to any of heathers novels is expect the unexpected :).

This is a wonderful love story! The wolf and the lady had a great adventure. This is a fun read and listen. Brian does a great job narrating it. I loved it!

I loved this book would give it more than 5 stars if I could. Codrelia Eversleigh had spent her entire lifein Egypt digging tombs of ancient Egyptians. She was married at the ageof 10 to Jack Eversleigh who is now the Duke of Hunt. Fifteen years has passed with no word from him.Cordy kept hoping as years went by he would come for her. She wants to go to Paris but first must come to London to get an annulment from him.She finally tracks him down and tells him of her plan.He has not had any ambition but drink and one married woman after the other.He blames his life on his father. They both feel a pull toward each other and can not understand why. They agree to be togther for awhile and then part but his friend's poor advice ends that.The author pulls you in one minute you can see the HEA the next the other pushes away.I liked the first book I think this was even better looking forward to the next book about the Dukes..

Enjoyable, sexy story

Initially skipped over this in reading the set, didn't think I was interested in a story about a girl that had been digging artifacts in Egypt. But after a glimpse of the character in book 3, went back to read this and quite enjoyed it. Jack did start to become tiresome in his quest to disengage himself from his wife 2/3 through. The H/h relationship was quite lovely in the beginning of the story, however. Enjoyed the bits involved in the other books, as well.

Didn't have to be this long

Liked the story but too much explanations between the dialogue. One character says something and then there is two pages of "thinking" before the next character answers. Drove me nuts. The story was good. I really liked Cordelia. She was strong, smart and a well developed character, with the exception of reminding us on every bloody page how she valued her Independence. The hero on the other hand was completely opposite. He is a lazy bum through and through. There was nothing good or redeeming about him until the very last chapter. I did not like one single character in this book other than Cordelia.

Highly Believable Characters

Becka's Awakening is a romance told in Third Person. Dawn created a wonderful pace throughout the entire novel. The chapters seemed to fly by, and it left me wanting to continue to read more.

Becka's Awakening was written well, and it had me flipping through the pages. All the dialog from every character flowed well.

The first chapter opens up, and we meet a slew of characters. We are also introduced to Becka this chapter. Judging by an argument in the opening chapter, she seems to be a supportive person, if not slightly fiery. From her first introduction, I looked forward to seeing her and the main love interest's interaction and how they will meet.

However, as wonderful as an introduction to Becka as it was, there may have been too many characters introduced in Chapter 1. I found myself thinking, "oh, there's a different character," after a certain point and I hoped that I would be able to keep them straight in later chapters.

As the book went on, Dawn handled the relationship between the love interest(the stranger) and Becka well. With the exception of one thing, this was a couple that anyone could root for: the type of guy who the stranger was and the type of woman that Becka was. This was a down-to-earth tale in that regard where some women could relate to her.

I tended to dislike Becka's character in the middle of the book, and being around the love interest's age now, I look back at myself at Becka's age and found that I was annoying like that as well. Because of how the stranger acts, these characters are believable.

I would recommend Becka's Awakening to anyone who enjoys a quick, well-written romance with highly believable characters.

An enjoyable way to spend an afternoon

The set up for this novel really works. Finding out that the entire family is under this curse brought on by a vengeful matriarch is an interesting hook. The fact that true love is apparently the only thing that can break it is awesome.

As a reader I felt like the disappointments some of the other cousins had suffered in pursuit of breaking it were good in setting up future novels, long before Beckaâs story started.

The author provided nice character development in showing the love and animosity of the siblings and cousins. It felt like a real family. I could almost envision my own sitting around the table.

I did feel like Becka and Bryanâs love story happened really quickly especially since the pair argued as much as they did. After all finding the right one is supposed to be difficult for this group and she literally bumps into hers.

I have loved this story for years. I absolutely hated the narrator. Please, please, please don't let her butcher any more of your stories!

Talk about a wild ride!

Wow, Rosalyn really redeemed herself in this one. Poor Leonidas I thought he definitely like to screw Lucian; but it looks like he's been fucking Leonidas over even longer. I'm still not sure how Zyphen's kidnapping Arabella and attempting to rape her twice, not to mention what he did to Cara is not a direct violation of the treaty because I thought it one of the books it said that he was not allowed to interfere directly with the dragons meeting the terms of the Treaty yet he gets to rape one's wife kidnap one's wife and put one's life in a cage because he can't rape her and then get a vampire demon bit I don't understand how that's not a direct violation of the treaty although I am glad the Queen stepped in :-) and I can't wait to see what the next installment has in store I hope we get to see Rosalyn's pregnancy the way we did Arabella's and then will come poor Lexander

So Gripping, Will the Curse Win?

Leonidas and Rosalyn's story continues on in this book from their first book Chosen by a Dragon which in my opinion you MUST listen to before this one. I have to admit that in the first book I really felt for Leonidas, his history was already known to me as I have listened to all the books in this series so far. Leonidas is a good and powerful man/dragon who is cursed to die if he should ever fall in love.

Fate is sometimes cruel and for mankind to be protected by an ancient treaty Leonidas must mate, not only mate but he must mate with someone who loves him truly and deeply. Can Rosalyn do that? When this book started Leonidas was already suffering the effects of his own particular curse. It is up to Rosalyn to try to save him. In this book Rosalyn undergoes a complete personality turn around. She is no longer just out for herself, she feels she must do what she can to free Leonidas from his curse. Will she be able to? Will she fall in love with him? Will it be a complete Love?

Questions, questions which I'm not going to answer because you MUST listen to this book to find out. Also in this story we have more trouble from the dark fey prince Zephen who has tried for millennia to break the treaty which The House of Smoke protect. We also have vampires and demons.

What I can tell you is that Alisa Woods has yet again woven a tale which you will find you can not stop listening to, it has many surprises twists and turns and will keep you guessing to the very end.

The performance by Noelle Bridges and Roger Wayne is excellent and they are both perfect for the story.

I am now eagerly awaiting the next book to find out the fate of Leonidas and Rosalyn

I always enjoy Julia Mills' dragon stories! The books are quick, fun, interesting dragon shifter reads, and I really enjoy them! This can be read as a standalone, but it does feature previous characters and some storylines that carry through from previous books, so you may want to start with the previous books. I also listened to the audio version of this book, and the narrator did a great job, and I enjoyed her performance, and I recommend listening to the audio book if you have the opportunity. The romance is really sweet, and I enjoyed the connection the dragon shifters have with their mates. Samantha is a strong woman, and she was a nice complement to dragon shifter, Lance. Lance is protective and caring, and I enjoyed his dynamic with his dragon shifter brethren. Wonderful series! I look forward to reading more!

What did you like best about this story?

I love that even though their interactions shock and confuse the woman everything they do is to bring her mind numbing pleasure and to bind her heart, mind, and soul to them. Their punishments are meant to coax her into a beautiful and total submission to their hearts. Everything they do is to meld their hearts as one and to show her that she has absolutely nothing to worry about once she surrenders herself to them.

What does Robert Ross bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

Robert Ross brings a sensual depth and vivid atmosphere with his to die for Scottish voice. He wraps you into a magical world that exists just beyond the edges of our consciousness and pulls you in with the passionate heart and sensual touch of these wonderful characters.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The scene where Woflgar, Fergus, and Murial reveal their hidden secrets, so that they are all laid bare before the other. The painful vulnerability is strikingly beautiful and I couldn't get enough when they all finally surrender in full to each other and allow their mating bond to truly blossom and flourish.

Any additional comments?

This is one of my all time favorite paranormal series! I can't get enough of these amazing women who prove to be exactly what these men need in order to calm their beast and to truly live life.

A short but sweet tale.

I enjoy how the Berserkers have such virile and exciting males, all extremely strong and dominant. The women are intriguing too with their magic and innocence. All-in-all I would recommend this series because it's fun.

Dark and addicting

I have became addicted to Lee Savino's Berserker series. this is the fourth book and continues to weave a gripping tale of werewolf mating. In the past, I have not been a fan of too many werewolf story lines, but Savino created a dark suductive world that I can't stop reading/listening to. The narrator's voice is perfect for the setting. He uses a great dialect for the story. Please note, that this series should be read in order. There are also some rather darker graphic scenes involving piercing for pleasure that some might not find appealing.

This book tells the story of Sebastian and Seraphina's tumultuous relationship. I have begun to appreciate the way the author alternates chapters in the voice of each of the main characters.

This is one of my favorites!

I loved this series! perfect mix of action romance, and fantasy. I was not a big fan of the short stories in this series but I apreciated the character development they offered.
