The long-awaited sequel to Rejar. He was full-blooded and untamable. Sensual and sinuous. Erotically magnetic. A uniquely beautiful creature who could make himself irresistible to women. And he was feral at heart. With his glittering green and gold eyes, silken hair, and purring voice, the stunning captive chained to the wall was exactly what Jenise needed. And he was hers to take...Or so she believed. But she had never heard how dangerous it was to lie down with the cat.

The male characters in this series are seriously delicious. They know what they want and go after it with a confidence that can't be matched and a will that brooks no argument. Like the two books preceding this one, the storyline in this book is quite entertaining. The intimate scenes are sexually arousing, yet tastefully descriptive. I've thoroughly enjoyed all three books in this series thus far!
    Keep them coming Dara
I love this series, the characters are great, the many different character's lives and there destiny's brings so much scope for a continued series with so many options i will be always looking to see when Dara brings out the next one. It's refreshing to have a new book to a series that includes and continues the previous series books as this series so far has, Rejar was fantastic and so is this one. I absolutely loved the little alien guide, the humor in this series is quick and refreshing also. Narration is great also, which makes the difference alot of the time. Keep them coming Dara.
    I am hooked
I am hooked on the Matrix of Destiny books. I think they are wonderful. Hope to see book 4 soon.
This book only comes with 18 chapters and is not complete. Is missing chapters. This is highway robbery.
The audio book is not complete. Is missing chapters. What happened Audibooks? I payed for the book.

FBI psychologist Olivia Sotiris was looking for a cool ocean breeze, sand between her toes, and a break from her crazy, chaotic, and sometimes all-too-dangerous life. Vacation time for lovers
While Robby finally gets to fall in love and stumble through his romanic vacation, we get to be entertained with some new characters and the bad guys that continually can't seem to launch a effective attack. The Love at Stake book is another fun book in this series. If you enjoyed the previous books in this series this one won't disappoint. The narration by Plummer was fine. Only if you are into this particular series would I recommend spending the credit.
One of first and favorites by this author
I really enjoyed this book! It had all the great things u don't even know u are looking for but it's some much more. It has lots of action and a true heart felt romance... You will want to tell your friends about this book being a very good read.
    Excellent narration and entertaining story
This was a fun read that was an enjoyable distraction while home sick. I've read a few books in this series and Therese Plummer's narration has been by far the best. She has a pretty good Scottish accent and did a great job with both male and female voices without sounding silly or cheesy.
The story was better than average as well, incorporating mystery and intrigue early on. The story clearly picks up from a previous book, but you can get the gist of things without having read it. The supporting characters' stories lend well to the main story and I enjoyed that the story took place over a longer period of time than usual.
    FUN RIDE
This series is a good, quick listen. Most narrators are good, which is saying something due to the exuberance of Scottish English used. This particular book has a wonderful narrator, and I devoured it in 2 days. Lots of anticipation in the best way. I recommend it.
    pleasantly surprised
romance, action drama all included. By the title alone I would not have wasted a credit. It was only after reading reviews that I chanced it.

Things to do: 1. Rescue sister. 2. Murder grandmother. 3. Don't upset the voodoo priestess.
The clock is ticking for Sabina Kane. Her sister has been kidnapped by her grandmother, the Dark Races are on the brink of war, and a mysterious order is manipulating everyone behind the scenes. Working on information provided by an unlikely ally, Sabina and her trusty sidekicks---a sexy mage named Adam Lazarus and Giguhl, a Mischief demon---head to New Orleans to begin the hunt for her sister. Once there, they must contend with belligerent werewolves, magic-wielding vampires, and, perhaps most frightening of all, humans. But as much as Sabina is focused on surviving the present, the past won't be ignored. Before she can save those she cares about most, she must save herself from the ghosts of her past.
    Members Reviews:
    Nice ending
This installment in the series is very good. It continues the story from the first two books. I was impressed that Sabina's character continued to grow and change throughout the series. Sabina starts out as a loner who has to do things her way. She also blindly follows the authority of her grandmother. By the end of the book Sabina learns to share responsibilty and accepts help from friends. All three books are filled with action. The one thing I did not like about Sabina's character is that she always excepted the responsibilty for everything. Luckily her self esteem issues do not stop her from solving her problems and growing as a person. I strongly recommend that you read all three books in order. I passed on this series for a while before I decided to read it. If you are on the fence about buying it, get off the fence and buy the first book. You won't regret it.
    Dangerous Plot Curves Ahead
Courtesy of Lost Art Audiobook Review
    On Narration:
Like with Cynthia Holloways reading of the prior two books, her voice is great for this series, although not as spot-on as with a few other popular series in the genre, like the Morganville Vampires series. The voice is young and feminine enough to makes the Sabina Kane series appeal more to a younger audience than the one probably targeted, which is not necessarily a bad thing.
Jaye Wells keeps the best parts of Mage in Black in this third audiobook, from her fast-paced from the frying pan into the fryer plot twists, to the loveable Giguhl taking another bullet in the tush. There are also new elements in this book that build and improve on the previous ones. For example, Jaye Wells adds a bit more depth in her humorous characters. Specifically, we are introduced to a fairy in more ways than one - named Brooks/Pussy Willow. I wont spoil it for those who havent listened to the audiobook yet, but this character grows in complexity. For me, however, both Sabina and Adam remained static throughout the three novels. Also, Jaye Wells builds on those lovely plot twists that make the listener come back for more. Green-Eyed Demon has an honest-to-goodness mystery plot, where Sabina must figure out who among her new community in New Orleans is a traitor to the Dominae. Mage in Black had a mystery plot with regard to which mage was trying to kill Sabina in New York City, but in my opinion it wasnt a very successful mystery because the listener sees it coming. Not so in Green-Eyed Demon. The resolution to the mystery in this audiobook is what I call an Oh! moment.

    Love the Breed series!
I know my review of this book is a little biased since Lora Leigh's Breed series is one of my favorites so just know that this review for me is more about the narrator than about the content. I felt like she did an excellent job with this book. It isn't easy to read this genre of fiction and sound believable but she did it and she did it well.
Megan's Mark, The Breeds, Book 1 Review
This was the first title that I have ever read/listened to by Lora Leigh. I have to say that it wasn't the experience that I was expecting. The reader didn't make the book very enjoyable because of the awful way she voiced the characters. I don't know why she made Megan's voice so odd. For a few seconds I thought Megan was a dude. Braeden was voiced in the most fake bad acting tough guy voice I've ever heard. The book itself was probably one of the most annoying, boring, pointless books I've ever come across in the genre. It was KILLING me to finish it and I only did because I paid for it. And it wasn't the sex scenes either. I know what the genre is and I have no problem with sex scenes even very explicit ones. So for me, the downer was the interaction between the two main characters period whether sexual or otherwise. I saw no realistic point for them to be together let alone be "mated". None whatsoever.Their interaction as a couple was borderline dysfunctional and I could see some people saying mentally abusive. And I don't say that because I have a problem with a very strong take charge male. In fact, that is the type of lead male character that I always prefer to read but this guy Braeden wasn't the least bit appealing in that reguard. He seemed more into the idea of possessing Megan than actually being in love with her which put a total damper on the "romance" aspect. Megan was just the most annoying woman that you would expect to get stomped on and manipulated.even with her empath abilities. I honestly feel bad that this was the first title that I ever experienced by Lora Leigh because it makes me not even want to try any of her other books for fear of being bored and annoyed out of my ever loving mind. I just can't recommend this title at all. For me it was a TOTAL waste of time, money, and effort. I tried and tried to get into it and I just couldn't get past the lunacy of it all.

    Publisher's Summary:
Against the glamorous backdrop of Victorian high society, Liz Carlyle paints a dramatic tale of dangerous desire, the first in her sizzling new trilogy.
All Grace Gauthier ever wanted was the security of a good marriage, family, and home. Instead, despised by her aristocratic father's family because of her mother's foreign birth, she's taken a safe position as a governess. Now, unprotected and alone in London, accused of the shocking murder of her employer, she has no one to turn to except the mysterious - and possibly dangerous - Lord Ruthveyn.
A dark-eyed Lucifer, Ruthveyn guards his secrets carefully. His shadowed past is a source of pain and rumors - only whispered. Grace's plight - which echoes his own - moves him, as does her quiet beauty. Ruthveyn is determined to save Grace by unmasking a killer. But his growing passion places his own heart at risk....
    Critic Reviews:
With its exceptionally rich characterization, an engaging plot that gracefully pairs danger and desire, and an intriguing touch of the paranormal, Carlyles latest stylishly written, lusciously sensual Regency historical romance is supremely satisfying. (Booklist)
    Members Reviews:
    Boring What Happened
I was so disappointed in this book I could not get through it, yet Liz Carlyle is one of my favorite authors and I was looking forward to this new series. This book is so far from her normal genre with a drawn out plot and shallow characters.
    3.5 stars
I did enjoy this story, it was interesting. There was a murder mystery story line and plot to go with the romance story. I liked the hero and the heroine a lot. I really liked the secondary character of Anisha, the hero's sister. There was plenty of dialogue. Some good chemistry and sex scenes, not a rated G book.
I am still debating moving on to the next book in the series. As I liked this story it didn't grab my impulse to immediately buy the next book. Still thinking on it...
As for the narrator she did a very good job. Everyone had their own distinct voice and she did the men pretty good.

    Publisher: Tantor Audio
Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 45 votes
    Genres: Romance, Fantasy
    Publisher's Summary:
Syrie James approaches Bram Stoker's classic Dracula with a breathtaking new perspective - as, for the first time, Mina Harker records the shocking story of her scandalous seduction and sexual rebirth. Who is this magnetic, fascinating man? And how could one woman fall so completely under his spell?
Mina Harker is torn between two men. Struggling to hang on to the deep, pure love she's found within her marriage to her husband, Jonathan, she is inexorably drawn into a secret, passionate affair with a charismatic but dangerous lover. This haunted and haunting creature has awakened feelings and desires within her that she has never before known, remaking her as a woman.
Although everyone she knows fears him and is pledged to destroy him, Mina sees a side to him that the others cannot: a tender, romantic side; a man who's taken full advantage of his gift of immortality to expand his mind and talents; a man who is deeply in love and who may not be so guilty of evil after all.
    > Yet, to surrender is surely madness, for to be with him could end her life. It may cost Mina all she holds dear, but to make her choice she must learn everything she can about the remarkable origins and sensuous powers of this man, this exquisite monster, this...Dracula!
    Critic Reviews:
With its poetic, 19th-century prose style, this tale about a fierce, forbidden romance will appeal to even the most jaded romance fan. (Library Journal)
James gives readers an intriguing alternate theory as to the events that occurred in Stokers classic horror tale while at the same time delivering a spooky yet thoroughly romantic love story. (Chicago Tribune)

Far Better Than I Thought or Hoped For!
On the whole, I can't stand fanfic, especially the sappy, amateur romantic stuff that proliferates the internet now. Generally I just steer clear. There has always been an exception in my mind, and that is Susan Kay's Phantom, of which Audible seriously needs to acquire an audio version. In the past 6 years or so, there's been an abundance of "Phanfic" out there telling the would-be sequel to The Phantom of the Opera, and most of them are anywhere from average to complete suckdom. The only stand out one is The Phantom of Manhattan, which is based on the original story idea by Andrew Lloyd Webber that he couldn't get to work, but then got to work some 20 years later in the form of Love Never Dies. Regardless, the stand out novel here is Phantom, which not only builds and expands on the original story, it's actually written far better than the original work and allows you to get inside the heads of the characters and explore the psychology of the story. It remains to this day as one of my all-time favorite books, and it's the book by which I judge all expansions of classic Victorian-Gothic literature.
Thing is, Dracula has the same problem, and it's because of Phantom that I held out hope of one day finding "THE book" that would go deeper and give me more. The original novel is perfect... for about 4 chapters, then it suffers quite a bit from being in a hurry to tell the story. There's no real expansion of anything. But the idea is brilliant. A lot of stories have been written since the book hit public domain.

Would you be willing to try another one of Nicole Pooles performances?
    NO
Did Zen and the Art of Vampires inspire you to do anything?
    No
    Any additional comments?
I really like the other books in the series, but the narrator really ruined this book for me.
Narrator did excellent, with what was presented.
First, I must admit I am reading/listening to these books out of order. I'm not sure if it's because of this or because I have recently read/listened to some very good books, but this story was just completely lacking. It left me feeling entirely lost and wondering if I had purchased only half a book. It leads up to the point where they will begin their relationship (which I knew because I read them bass akwards) but then stops, before they even GET together! The story itself seemed to have an excellent concept, but horrible execution. The main character acts like an airhead the entire book and, quite honestly is an idiot. I've, thankfully only ever met one person that reminded me of Pia, or else I'd probably have gone insane. It's the kind of person that you ask to do something, Tell to do something, then figure 'screw it' and do it yourself. Though, I must admit the main bad guy I didn't realize would be who it was, however the end of the book Really doesn't tie that end up either. I'm left feeling as though I'm holding a bunch of loose ends, and that that's how the author wanted, so that we'd buy her next book in the series. I'm normally alright with cliff-hangers, but by darned it, at least bring the main character and her mate together in the book that's about Them.

With a modest inheritance and the three gowns that comprise her entire wardrobe, Theodora leaves Edinburghand a disappointed suitorfar behind. She is bound for Romania, where tales of vampires are still whispered, to visit an old friend and write the book that will bring her true independence.

Bewildering and bewitching in equal measure, the brooding nobleman ignites Theodoras imagination and awakens passions in her that she can neither deny nor conceal. His allure is superlative, his dominion over the superstitious town, absoluteTheodora may simply be one more person under his sway.
Before her sojourn is endedor her novel completedTheodora will have encountered things as strange and terrible as they are seductive. For obsession can prove fataland she is in danger of falling prey to more than desire.
    Editorial Reviews:
Brooding as black licorice, The Dead Travel Fast by Deanna Raybourn is lush and Gothic, a romance shadowed by the diabolical legacy haunting a gloomy castle in the Transylvania of 1858. Heroine Theodora Lestrange is a coltish Scottish novelist confined by spinsterhood to dwell under her straight-laced brother-in-laws roof. Her life is a stifling casket until girlhood friend Cosmina invites Theodora to her crumbling ancestral home in Romania. Will passion trump virtue? Charlotte Parry narrates and her impudent Theodora disarms with an Edinburgh burr that thickens with indignance or tenderness, exposing vulnerability. Parry also reveals Theodoras core loneliness with faltering pauses and hard swallows. Shes equally refined navigating palace intrigues in Transylvania without resorting to derivative I vant to suck your blood Dracula-like accents.
The Dead Travel Fast is built on foreshadowing, moodiness, and Theodoras magnetic attraction to remote Count Andrei Dragulescu, lord of the castle. Once listlessly betrothed to his cousin Cosmina trembly and spooked the Count is intrigued by Theodoras skittish, impulsive intelligence. She, in turn, pines for his distant smoldering. Things upend, though, when a servant girl is killed, two bite marks on her neck. Her murder tips the village into frenzy. For in Transylvania, land of devout believers, superstition is fact and vampires masquerade as noblemen. I was not given to somnambulism, Theodora frets, upon awakening to ominously unknotted plaits. But I might be well capable of unbinding my hair ribbons in my sleep.
Charlotte Parry wisely forgoes formulaic bantering to slow dance through Theodora and Andreis mutual resistance to animal instincts. Her Theodora and Andrei are guarded and flawed, scorning any hint of neediness. The audiobook resolves realistically, for among the undead, as in the living, the path to true love is frequently ruined by stakes through the heart.
    Critic Reviews:
With a strong and unique voice, Deanna Raybourn creates unforgettable characters in a richly detailed world. This is storytelling at its most compelling.

    Prey
This one is somewhat better than the first 3 in the series, but it turned into such a tearjerker for the entire second half of the book (I won't say why, but sure jerked my tears), that I will get a better synopsis of the next book before I buy. I don't read urban fantasy or paranormal romance to cry for the whole second half of the book.
Another premise of this series is that Faythe's father is grooming her to take over the Pride. Totally bizarre since she has made very few smart moves, even in this 4th book. She keeps saying she is maturing, but not so I could notice. Also, she is an "enforcer" for the pride, a dangerous job. But "tabbys" are supposed to be rare and protected. So where's the logic here?
The narrator does a pretty good job. I'm still interested in this series, but mostly for the men as I cannot bring myself to like or respect Faythe.
    Enough already!
I have been a Rachel Vincent fan since the inception of the first werecat book, Stray. I have enjoyed each moment of the tale as Faythe Sanders (protagonist) learns the ins and outs of her relationship and her never ending mistakes (some of the relationship kind, some not). I was sorely tempted to give this book only three stars, because the relationship tussle between Marc and Jayce has become a distraction from the story which has only gotten more interesting.
Faythe's books have been rife with her personal issues involving her love life....s and the mistakes she makes. Again, and again. It has come to a point where it has become a distraction to the rest of the story which has picked up and become fully engaging instead of the I cannot make up my mind, or poor me story themes that many of the previous books lived off of.
This book had personal tragedy layered on top of accident on top of betrayal. It was great to see Faythe grow up so much since even the last book (except in her ability to fix her relationship). I look forward to reading, or listening to the future adventures of Faythe Sanders but with a council's inward bickering, perhaps war. With inter relationships are jockeyed for position it has become a let down to have to endure the sophomoric love life that Ms. Vincent writes.
While perhaps one of the better additions to the library of Faythe Sanders "werecat" collection it could also be the straw that breaks the werecat's back. If we could move on, and resolve the relationship drama for the protagonist there is still so much left that is interesting to fill volumes of this ever increasingly Machiavellian tale. So many extra-Faythe relationships to crush on and play with. Let us let this part of Faythe grow up as well, and make the story all that better in the future. Check this book out, and hope Ms.

    Worth a listen
I enjoyed it the narrator was really good, I thought there would be more magic in it and not quite so much pining for love. Probably not like some of my other books of hers that I have read over and over.
    Good story, terrible narrator.
I bought this back when it was on sale. This is the second book in a Trilogy (it can be read by itself though) and I held off listening to it, hoping the other books would come on Audible, but they never did. I have read all of this series and enjoyed them, the 3rd book is my favorite and I'm bummed that it isn't on Audible. Relistening to it makes me realize how naïve the heroine is, and that was in the eye rolling department, but the story is a nice romance with just a hint of paranormal in it. I listened to the narrator many times before and she always sounds like an old smoker. The worst part of the narration is you can hear her swallow all the time, I could have lived with the smoker's voice but the swallowing is very annoying.
    The Night Drifter
The story is good, I really enjoyed it. But, the reading of this book was terrible, I wanted the reader to get some water her voice was so dry sounding. The trouble is that a female was reading this book when a man needed to read it. Audible should always have a man read the man's parts and a woman to read the women's parts. A women deeping her voice to sound like a man just ruins the story. This book was ninty percent the man's story, what a shame it was ruined by having a woman reading it. Please audible take note of this, we pay too much for audible books to have them done so poorly.
    The narrator
The story was really good, the narrator Barbara Rosenblat on the other hand was entirely awful! You can hear her swallow every 3rd or 4th sentence. I could barely finish listening to it, that's how irritating the swallowing was. Just a word or warning, watch out for any books read by this narrator.
