    Luke Daniels
Luke Daniels seems to get better and better with each book he narrates. He really bring the words alive. I'm truly in love with this series of books and I can't stop thanking my co-worker for turning me onto Hesther Graham and her Krewe of Hunters.
    as always...
I am never disappointed with any of the Krewe of Hunters series, easily addictive! loved it , as always...
    Waste of time
I've heard practically all of the books in these series, and this one was one of the worst! The story was horrible and the narration could have been better.
The story wasn't interesting or gripping. I forced myself to finish the book whereas some other books in this series were so addictive that I just couldn't stop listening.
Luke Daniels voice for Jane was so so so bad! He made her sound like a 70 year old grandma! The way she was described and the way she sounds couldn't be more off.
I would tell listeners to move on and not waste their money/credit on this audio book. Not worth it at all!
    Good book but...
This is my third Krewe of Hunters audio book (I have the entire series as e-books, however) and the third with Luke Daniels as the narrator. As usual, the book is great; Heather Graham really knows how to tell a story and I've come to enjoy Mr. Daniels' narration but not so much this time around. When he did the voices for the main characters, Sloane and Jane, he spoke so quietly, I had to strain to hear. The voices he did for some of the female characters (and the theatre owner) were so whiny or over the top that I caught myself rolling my eyes a few times. As I said, I own the whole series but this was one book I hadn't read yet so my enjoyment was a bit diminished by his narration. I was disappointed by that since he's been so good with the others. Hopefully this was a fluke since he does the narration for a lot of the other Krewe books. Still, it was a good story with a nice twist at the end.
    In Love with these books!
Where does The Night Is Watching rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
I listened to the first of this series and the love affair started there. The story line in this sereies is great and just gets better with each new book . it doesnt drag on or start off slow. You will love each and every character they bring in.It is suspenseful and funny.Loved every minute of every second.

    3.5 STARS A COMPLICATED SCI-FI THRILLER
Firstly, nothing like Elder Races - this is a cleverly written but dark alien story about 7 cosmic beings coming to Earth after one of their evil criminals named The Deceiver, escaped and it is their jobs to catch him. They each had to take a potion to allow their bodies to go through Earth's atmosphere but unfortunately, there was a terrible side effect - once they landed and were reincarnated into a family/culture none of them remembered each other or their mission. However, they are each constantly bombarded with thoughts and memories of past lives spanning thousands of years which tortures their minds and souls and sometimes they meet but it was always too late - until now.
This is the story of Mary and Michael who were soul-mates on their planet and have found each other again but The Deceiver, who sucks souls and possesses bodies together with all his soulless minions, his magic and all his memories from thousands of years on Earth still intact (he didn't take the potion), is hot on world domination and is therefore on their trail with disastrous consequences.
It was hard going to begin with as there was a lot of well written but 'wordy' character and world building to be done and, to be honest, it kinda lost me in parts and I ended up not caring much. However by part 2 things got more straightforward and once they found each other the pair had to rebuild trust, run, fight and there were a few emotional scenes along with a few sexual encounters but these were mildly described.
Worth a credit? This is a hard one because I am sure there will be plenty of you out there loving the sound of this and will thoroughly enjoy it - but unfortunately, for me, I probably won't follow the series as I found it centred too much on the evil deeds, depressing, dark side of PNR.
A darker story, but still intriguing
I was very glad to start reading this book, and I have to say I was not disappointed. I think this new series will be darker than the Elder Races books, but I still really enjoyed the first book of this series. I am glad it's not the same old thing where the author thought if it worked for the first series, why not just change place and character names and start a similar series. I will definitely be getting the next book.
    yeah not about aliens..
Would you listen to Rising Darkness again? Why?
im not super religious nor have i even read the bible but this story is not about aliens.

    MAGNIFICENT Story
I love this series. Allyson James is an awesome story teller and Hillary Huber is a wonderful narrator. Allyson gives you a thrill, suspense and romantic novel. I was hooked from the first word of this book. Wonderful read. Janet and Mick continue their awesome story. The entire cast is awesome. Allyson gives you such detail for each of the characters that you end up intimately familiar with each. Ms. James gives you a magnificent story. The excitement is hard to contain. The suspense and thrill will keep you on the end of your seat and your pulse racing. This book has tasteful romance. Not any raunchy sex. Awesome paranormal series. Gonna be so sorry when it ends.
    a fun paranormal buffet ~
a fantastic array of characters. I love the Indian background and the magic. I definitely will be looking into Reading More by this author.
good story, adding all the elements :-)
a very unique way of adding all the supernatural elements into one storyline. Really enjoyed the characters they were all well defined. At times, I did find the narration a little comical, with the change of voices, sometimes irritating but overall a great experience
Great series new to me but this stands alone well!
Interesting fantasy world bound to the beliefs of the people indigenous to SW desert areas of the USA. I am familiar with a little of this from reading Hillerman, but that did not limit my enjoyment of the book. The Nightwalker of the title is an unwilling vampire who has found an ancient dangerous magical pot, and has put himself, his girlfriend, and all of the area and more into serious danger. Janet Begay is the Stormwalker who is the main character in this book and in the series. Her significant other is a dragon when not in human form. There are plot twists and action aplenty to keep the reader mumbling "Just one more chapter, then I'll go....."
Hillary Huber gives an excellent performance as Janet, and also gives voice and adds depth to each of the other characters.
Lucky enough to have gotten it on the cheap.
    Similar to Jane Yellowrock series.
A very good listen, the whole series is worthwhile listen.

    Truly a great READ!!!!
What did you love best about When Darkness Falls?
This is actually a very good book. It's number two in the series but when I first read it, I just picked it up to try a new author (by the way, you find it on shelves wriiten by Ms. Graham's alter ego, Shannon Drake). This book is what sparked my interest in the entire series. Around book 4, my likability wanes a bit but I still couldn't fathom removing them from my book collection. When Darkness Falls is a well written story that will make you laugh, cheer and wish for a man (or vampire) to love you so completely. It follows Lucien's story after Underneath the Blood Red Moon and takes you through his history. I loved Jade. She was a little frustrating at times but what woman isn't? It's one of our greatest gifts to drive men crazy! I think Jade and Lucien had wonderful chemistry and it continues throughout the series.
What was one of the most memorable moments of When Darkness Falls?
The beginning, when all the mayhem starts off. If I had been in that crypt, I would haved peed my pants!!! It's also where/how the main characters meet.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
Tanya Eby is not the best narrator. In my opinion, her interpretation of the characters leaves much to be desired. Thus,I would recommend actually reading the book. The book took me on a fantastic journey and Tanya Eby actually made me long for my book. She's okay but she wouldn't have been my choice. I hope she doesn't return for the next novel.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
    I have no idea...
    Any additional comments?
Read the book first and fall in love with the written portrait of Lucien and Jade's story first. The narration of this book truly lacks the spark I felt when I first read the novel. I've reread it 3 times since then. This is a fantastic book (again, its released by the alter ego of HG, Shannon Drake) and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to romance and fantasy/vampire genre fans.
    Just Didn't Feel It!
The premise of the story was very good and interesting. The cast of characters was unique with their stories intertwined with the main characters. However, the main characters had no chemistry between them. To me their relationship was forced, it had potential but it was never given any heat, or hot passion between them.

    Female Character TSTL
Is there anything you would change about this book?
First chapters have too much redundant filler fluff. Basic story was good. Male characters interesting tho the tough guy dialogue is overdone and becomes juvenile, not macho). The main female character is just Too Stupid To Live - but, of course, she does. The things the author has her think and do were just ridiculous to the point that had this been a hard copy I'd have thrown it at a wall. The author intended to make the character seem overwhelmed with love and concern, but the reasoning given for the characters actions were totally vapid. Ugh! I'm a woman and I hate it when an author has the female character act like a total idiot. The book seemed like the author threw it together and rushed the ending.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Just listened to "The Scottish Prisoner," and liked it more than I had thought I would since it was an offshoot of the main Outlander stories so I think I'll pick up another of Gabaldon's "Lord John" stories. I've read all the Outlander series so I knew the basic story in which it took place (Need to have read the first two "Outlander" books to fully appreciate).
What about Benjamin L. Darcies performance did you like?
Did a good job differentiating character voices and his pace and expression were perfect.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
    No.
    Any additional comments?
I read the first two of this series and they were better by far than this latest book.
    Wet n Wild!!
Great continuance to a great series. I love that the author has now introduced the European faction to the story. Which gives us more background for dragon kind. I can't wait for till Book 4 comes out. The narrartor is great with the different characters. He is male so the females do sound alike but the different accents on the males is very good.
I never thought I would enjoy a fantasy book like this but it has been a great listen and very entertaining.... and hot and I do so love the dragon furies.. =].
Start from book 1... this is a series...
Waited for this next book and wasn't disappointed
Yet another great story from J D. They just keep getting better and better. There are quite a few threads unravelling that I have no doubt will provide more great books. I would have given Ben's amazing narration 5 stars if he'd given Wick back the cool accent he gave him in the first book.

    Members Reviews:
Don't waste a credit on it!!!
What did you like best about Dark Nights? What did you like least?
The explanation on Joie Sanders brother (Joeble's ) blood line.
What was most disappointing about Christine Feehans story?
It was a repeat of Dark Descent... Not a new book... Seems to me that you advertised it as new when it was not....
What three words best describe Jennifer Bradshaws voice?
    Ok
Was Dark Nights worth the listening time?
NO, had already listen to the story and plot on Dark Descent.... Wasted a credit on it
    Any additional comments?
Wish I had read the summary in more detail and figured out I was re-buying two books that were on my library..... Will have to be more careful next time....
Liked it except for one thing....
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Christine Feehan writes interesting Carpathian stories and most of the plots change from book to book which helps to keep the series fresh and interesting.
Who was your favorite character and why?
No favorites. I like them all with the exception of the female lead as explained below in "other comments".
Have you listened to any of Jennifer Bradshaws other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes. And a very pleasent voice she has.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I usually listen in several sittings due to my own time constraints, and wanting to give the story my full attention.
    Any additional comments?
I am a little tired of the female lead characters who are starting to feel more insipid. I would like to see more fire and spice in the lead female character . A little bit of bad would be appreciated for the female to grow into and out of and utilize. Not all of the power and fire should be saved for the lead male Carpathian character. In several of Ms Feehan's earlier books there have been wonderfully complicated and sometimes imperfect female leads who are not always sugar sweet. I get that the females are the light to the male's dark. Yet nothing is all black and all white. I would like a little more stirring of the female's roll. This is of course is mine own opinion. I still enjoy the series and have read each book.
    Glad to see this book
If you have already listened to Dark Decent, then you will want to hear this book. It answers some of the questions the short version left and give some much needed information. I hope Ms.

    A PLEASURE TO LISTEN TO
First let me say, yes this has 2 stories in 1 book however the characters mentioned in the first (shorter) story return towards the end of the second story so it's vital to get their backgrounds to show us the who, what and why magic is used (I'm not going to spoil it for you) but please bear this in mind.
J.F's books are like taking a ride on Disneyland's Space Mountain for the first time - you just don't know what's coming next - there's a lot of "oooohs" "aaarghhhs" and "ahhhhs" to be had. Plenty of interesting characters enrich a paranormal world that's lived mainly in the shadows where plots and sub plots are thrown in to a great story that'll keep you enthralled. Both stories have romance and sex but the second story is more intense and hotter.
Worth a credit? If you're a fan of sexy fantasy/romance listens (with handsome hunky alpha men - let's face it girls, and sorry boys, but if we're going to dream then let's dream big!) then JF's books are a must have for your library - so that's a big fat YES. Very Pleasurable
Pleasure is the third book in the Shadowdwellers series. It actually contains a novella and a novel within the book. The novella is about Sagan. A sanctuary priest that is taking as a hostage after he is wounded in battle. During his transportation through the Alaskan wilderness, he is accidentally rescued by a natural born witch, Valera. Although this two are suppose to be sworn enemies, they feel an instant connection between them that is undeniable. Sagan ponders whether to betray his faith to love something that is forbidden from him and Valera wonders if he can love her even though she is a witch. I have read the Nightwalkers Series and its nice to finally read Sagan and Valera story. They were mentioned in the last book of the Nightwalker series, Adam, but never go into too much detail about their background.

    Members Reviews:
    I really enjoy this series
I hate writing book reviews, as you know if you've read my other reviews, because I find it extremely difficult to avoid giving away plot without giving away how much I liked the book (or vice versa)...
However! It's a steampunky romance with dynamic, likeable characters who are sometimes too noble, but I'd rather have too nobel than a scoundrel as the main character...I like liking my main characters.
It's a pretty short book (I was able to finish it in an afternoon, but I'm a very fast reader...) but enjoyable nonetheless. If you like themes of Victoriana, steampunk, romance, light magic, engineering fantasy, etc, you'll probably love this book.
A mystery tied up in an adventure
Book 4 of the Gaslight Chronicles, tells the story of Winifred "Wink" Hadrian, one of the adopted children of Sir Merrick Hadrian (See Bk 1 - Steam and Sorcery) is all grown up and is an Engineer who works for the Order of the Round Table. Wink has loved Inspector Liam McCullough for years but he has given her no indication that he is interested. So Wink decides to give a friend who has always cared about her a chance to convince her that they are a perfect match.
When one of her friends asks her to look for her brother who has disappeared Wink soon discovers that many of the people from the poorer sections of London are missing, she asks Liam for help and the two discover that something very strange is going on.
Another adventure with the Order of the Round and their intrepid ladies. Who knew steam punk could be so much fun?
    Sexy steampunk
The protagonist is Winifred "Wink" Hadrian, 24-year-old adopted daughter of the Hadrian family. The Hadrians, a motley crew of orphans and stepchildren, are part of the Order of the Knights of the Round, descendants of King Arthur's legendary group. The Order fights threats to England, whether those threats are supernatural or technological. Wink makes numerous mentions of having fought vampires in the past, but only one shows up in the story and is quickly dispatched.
Getting back on track--Wink has always been in love with Liam McCullough, Scotland Yard inspector and reluctant werewolf. Because of his bestial nature and the abuse he suffered at the hands of his father (and far worse beast), he is firmly convinced he would make a horrible husband and father, and so does his best to see Wink married off to eliminate the temptation to bed her.
