Not a nessisary part for the series
    Any additional comments?
This book was not needed everything in it was pretty much covered in the other books.
    waste of money
waste of money, same as the second book just told by rand. I'd like my money back.
Short Recap of book 2 Toil and Trouble
The narrator did a great job of retelling the story from Rands perspective. The author did great too, but I was a little disappointed it wasn't more to it. I was looking for book 3 or just something more.

The year is 1499. As Alexandra Dunns farmhouse is set ablaze, her grandfather places precious stones in her palm, telling her she has until the next full moon to return with a hero ... a brave, chivalrous knight to help save her family. Familiar objects become a blur as she is swallowed in darkness. Suddenly Alexandra is standing in the middle of Central Park, but she has no time to ponder on the wondrous powers of the stones or the amazing sights before her ... she must find a hero before all is lost.
Joe McFarland would be the first to admit that hes far from hero material definitely not the man shes looking for. A firm believer in quietude and non-violence, he avoids conflict at all costs. At 34, he is one of the younger Professors at NYU where he lectures and teaches History: The High Middle Ages.
Joes organized, well-structured life begins to unravel the moment he meets Alexandra Dunn. He figures she majored in medieval history before going off the deep end until days later when he is miraculously transported through time, to 1499 England. Dressed in Dockers and a button-down shirt, Joe thought he was ready for anything ... anything but this!
An armored man with a very authentic looking broadsword is about to strike him down. With only nail clippers and a Bic to defend himself, Joe has no time to think about such an implausible phenomenon as traveling through time not if he wants to live to see another day.

    Did not like the narration
If the narration would have been a dual narration it would have made for a good listen. The story was good. I always enjoy time traveling stories. But Sarah Wilds just did not have the voice to read this book. Her male voice was very much female trying to sound male in a little girl voice. I do not understand why they do not publish these books to entertain. Most the time I would enjoy listening to books instead of watching a movie.
Really Bad Narrator which Spoils this Book!
What did you like best about A Knight in Central Park? What did you like least?
It was really difficult to get into this book BECAUSE THE NARRATOR was so bad, almost totally monotoned. I love time travel stories. I did feel that this book might have been more interesting with a different narrator, such as Kathrine Kellgren, who performed Ragan's "Return of the Rose." As it is, I was tempted to give it a "0" for all catagories. Please use a different narrator to give this book a chance!
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
I thought the theme was good. Did need more dialog --- or did I just miss it because of the narrator?
Would you be willing to try another one of Heather Wildss performances?
    No!
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
    Not sure.
    Any additional comments?
I have listened to many audible books. Without a doubt, the narrator can make or break the book for me. This narrator's voice was clear but there was no energy in it to keep you interested, no passion. My favorite narrator is Kathrine Kellgren and I do search for books that she narrates. I have not been disappointed yet. Miss Wilde has a nice voice but she could take some lessons from Miss Kellgren.
I really wanted to like it but........
A time travel romance but something was lost during the travelling I'm afraid.

    Out of Nowhere...
I read a few book related websites and blogs and often know about upcoming books months before they hit the virtual shelves of Audible, but I must admit, this book came out of nowhere. I'd never heard of this series nor the author. I saw it in a sale a while back, liked the synopsis and thought I'd take a chance. Usually when this happens, I get a reasonably decent romance, but nothing to crow about. This book, however, was a quality piece of paranormal romantic fiction read by a marvelous narrator.
I didn't recognize Angela Dawe's name when I bought the book, but I sure recognized her voice. She was the fantastic narrator that brought Nalini Singh's Psy-changling series to heart pounding life. She pulls off some of the sexiest male voices I've ever came across from a female narrator. Combine her emotive voice with excellent pacing and flawless delivery and you get a truly marvelous audiobook experience.
The story line itself fits well within the paranormal romance genre, but it does have a nice twist to the vampire tale. The history behind the story is this: The world is struck by a pandemic, killing millions or humans as well as the vampires that drank from those infected. Following the pandemic, a vaccination is created and the vast majority of humans are vaccinated. Unfortunately, drinking blood from vaccinated humans has the same effect on vampires as drinking from the humans who were infected with the disease, making food supplies impossibly low for vampire-kind.
Our hero Aiden is trying to do his small part to rebuild the decimated vampire population, particularly those vampires in his inner circle of friends. He's done this by essentially buying a small Southern town and moving his vampire friends and their willing human blood donars (called fams) to this town. He finds more unvaccinated humans from the impoverished and addicted in the cities and offers them a second chance at life if they are willing to feed his kind.
The community aspect of this book is one of the elements that sets it apart from the herd of vampire fiction out there. The symbiotic relationship between human and vampires notwithstanding, there's a feeling of something a bit more than community, but not quite family, and Aiden is the leader, the founder and the cornerstone of it all.
After the town's physician, the human mate of one of the vampires, is killed, the town needs a new doctor, and our heroine, comes to Penton to fill this role.

    Intriguing, Funny, and Sweet!
Would you consider the audio edition of Of Poseidon to be better than the print version?
I don't think so. If I could go back, I think I would probably buy the print edition. (reasons listed below)
What other book might you compare Of Poseidon to and why?
Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini. It had a very similar feel to it. Also, they both are full of Greek mythology.
Which character as performed by Rebecca Gibel was your favorite?
Emma. She did a really great job capturing her personality.
    Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed the idea of the Syrena ("They're NOT MERMAIDS!!" lol) and wish that we would have learned more about them in this book. However, it is the start of a series so I'm sure we'll get more in depth in the following books. I did figure out the big "surprise" about halfway through the story, so it wasn't especially suspenseful.
I really enjoyed the chemistry between Galen and Emma. Galen was hot (of course) and funny and sweet, and Emma had a hard time resisting him. I sometimes felt that Emma was being overly dramatic (the opening scene for example), but she was sweet and I did like her. I also really liked all of the secondary characters, especially Galen's "family." I had two slight complaints with the book, but I think the fact that I listened to the audio version is mostly to blame for both of them. First was that It was difficult to tell when the book was switching between Emma's and Galen's point of view. Secondly, It was also difficult to tell when there was a break in the story. Thankfully it wasn't so annoying as to take away from my enjoyment of the book.
Love both books! This is book 1
I love this series. Just to be clear this is book 1. Of Triton is book 2. Coming soon is Of Neptune (book 3 not available in audio yet). Legacy Lost (The Syrena Legacy, #0.5) could also be considered book 1 but is not available in audio yet.
I'm annoyed that audible doesn't clearly mark books in a series. I listened to these out of order and was extremely confused during a good chunk of listening to Of Triton (book 2). I loved both books and you will enjoy the second book thoroughly if you like this one. The narrator and author do a wonderful job. The characters are not reintroduced so it's clearly intended to be read as a second book. Rant over.
This is a coming of age tale for discovery, mystery, magic, and lust.

Good breakaway series from Keri Arthur
Liked the first book in this new series from Arthur. I loved her Riley Jensen series, and this is several years down the road from that. Many of the same characters. I didn't like the narrator quite as much, something about her voice bothered me.
Risa is a strong if somewhat confused heroine but likable all the same and the other characters fill out the story nicely.
    not sure
i keep reading this series and i can't tell if i like it or not. i keep going back and forth between liking riza and thinking is an idiot driven by hormones.
    Love this series!
I really enjoy this series! I love the reader. Shes amazing! Really brings life to the book. If the reader isnt good, then I will not finish the book. Im so excited to read the next book!
    More of the same
Keri Arthur is not one of my favorite authors and the Riley Jenson series is not one of my favorites. Fortunately, it isn't necessary to read the Riley Jenson Guardian series first in order to understand and appreciate the Dark Angels series in my personal opinion.
    could have been better
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
    STOP BEING STUPID, RISA!
Which character as performed by Saskia Maarleveld was your favorite?
All? Saskia has a beautiful voice.
    Any additional comments?
Darkness Rising opens with Risa's father forcefully ordering her to find the keys that he created to open the gates to hell. Nice guy, yeah? Then Risa is essentially blackmailed by the head of the Directorate, Madeline Hunter, into doing Hunter's dirty work in exchange for help solving Dia's murder. Considering that's all crammed into the first chapter, you'd think that the action would be nonstop . . . and yet, not so much. At least it felt slow to me.
It may have been because I listened to this one in audio, but I found myself oddly unable to focus on the story and probably missed a good quarter of it from zoning out on the narration. The big things that I was worried about while reading the first book came to pass: (1) Risa continued to trust the wrong guy, Lucian. He reminds me of a certain snakelike character from the Riley Jensen, Guardian series, and I don't much like him. (2) Risa failed to see what her reaper, Azrael, was thinking. He clearly has a thing for her, but she is only seeing her own perception of his actions and beliefs and not understanding why he is perpetually frustrated with her. Come on, girl, get it together!
It's a little frustrating to see Risa repeating so many of Riley's mistakes, especially while she notes that Riley had spoken to her about these things.

Wonderful tale with poor choice for narrator
This is the third book in the Tairen Soul series and the third different narrator. I thought that a new narrator (and a consistent one) for the last three books had to be an improvement over the first two narrators (numerous mispronunciations, poor timing, with no break between chapters or scene changes, etc.).
Well, I was wrong. By what logic would anyone chose a narrator with a lisp to read an audiobook? Early in the reading, Ms Durante sounded like someone reading to children at storytime. As the book progressed, the reading improved somewhat, but young girl voice with the lisp is consistent throughout.
Most audiobook readers, male or female, are able to use their voices to convey different characters/genders, but that is poorly done in this case. What should be strong male voices are still sing-songy and lispy. On the up side, there are few, if any, mistakes in pronunciation.
It is a shame, because I love this series and had really looked forward to listening to the entire series on audiobook. I'm not sure I can keep going with this narrator, as she is so irritating to listen to that I'm distracted from the story.
I can fully recommend the Tairen Soul series though. The books are delightful!
    Great Book, HORRID Narrator
What made the experience of listening to King of Sword and Sky the most enjoyable?
It was not enjoyable, listening was awful. So distracting in fact, I had to download the rest of the series on my Kindle to truly enjoy the experience of the story. I can only hope that audible re-records the last several books. Emily Durante may be a great narrator of other stories, but in this story of young warriors - she made them all sound like sick and decrepit warriors in their eighties, suffering from COPD and emphysema. I loved the story, absolutely disliked the voice Emily used for the men of the story.
How could the performance have been better?
Again, it was difficult to get past the male voices. I highly recommend listening to the first two books in the series on audible, however, move on to kindle or hard copy books after the first two in the series.
    Any additional comments?
Please audible, consider taping the last 3 books over again with a new narrator. Emily Durante destroyed the Fey male voices.
I just could not stomach the narrator...
The narrator is so bad, that I dont even know if the reason for this is boring story I struggled for three hours and sadly, I am turning the audio book off. I did not decide yet if I am getting ebook. I might start listening some other books before I consider buying ebooks for Tairen Soul series. I wish Amy Cardy (a second narrator) continued, she is not the best for these series either, but Amy Cardy was tolerable for me.

    Totally Worth It!
I am going to try to be really careful not to give out any spoilers so those that havent been able to get your copy will still have the thrill of discovery on this book. I purposely refused to read any other reviews. I didnt even read the blurb about this book because I wanted to be surprised!
[Begin Gush] Wow. I totally loved this book. [End Gush]
This is the sixth book in the Nightwalker series. I highly recommend listening to them in order. Jacquelyn Frank has developed many of the characters throughout the series. You learn a little here and a little there about each one. Also, the plot thickened with each new additional book. Reading Adam first would be like skipping to the back of the book to find out what happens at the end.
This was the perfect way to end the seriesalmost. I was so excited to realize that Adam would make an appearance in this book and that Jasmin was going to almost have her own book. Adam was perfectly melded into the story and it all made perfect sense.
When the story first started out, I had gasped in horror over the first several chapters. I kept thinking, no way but Jacquelyn Frank had a bit of a suspense thing going on with this book and she drew it out very nicely.
There were several things that happened in this book that are still a mystery, so I wonder . Children of the Nightwalker series??
    The Narration Review
This book was narrated by Xe Sands. Xe has narrated all the books in the nightwalker series. She once again held me captive with her enticing narrative and whole array of character voices and accents. If Xe Sands was chocolate, she would be rich decadent chocolates. :-)
My First Five Star Award Audio Book
First, XeSands is a great narrator. Ms Sands takes a character whether it be man or woman and presents to her audience the small nuances and interpretation that make you believe in the character. One example for me is the vampire Jasmine. She is very arrogant self centered and bored. XeSands gives her a fabulous English accent and you actually get to hear the gall and absolute self-involvement of the character. In this book, Jasmine begins to change and you certainly know why. The premise of the story is interesting and Jacqueline Frank, the author knows how to bring together the time travel of the character and make it believable. You must started from book 1 so you will understand the characters in the story. The book catches your attention from the very first chapter. Yes there are really steamy love scenes. Personally, with some, I just fast forwarded so I could get onto the action of the story.
Interestingly enough, I didn't like book 1 that much, however, I think I'm going to go back and re-listen to it.
Love this book. You may not give it five stars like I did however, if you love fantasy and romance, try this one. I did and I'm glad.

    Any additional comments?
This book has been the best of the Breads books so far for me. Fabulous story and i just loved Styx's. Brianna Bronte does another excellent job at narration. I;m all ready listening the the next book. Another fabulous listen. :)
    Absolute Lightning Strike!
I thoroughly enjoy Ms. Leigh's series, of which this is a part. I do wish it could have been a bit longer but it fits well within the plot of the whole. The characters, while fantasy, are believable in their own world. I'm half in love with each of them as I read their stories. If one is not familiar with the series, Styx's Storm is a good place to start. This is a good read.
Engaging but beware it has a lot of explicit sex
I really enjoy reading paranormal erotic books so it's no problem for me. I do find that too much whinning gets on my nerves. Beyond that I found this book enjoyable. I found myself looking to see if there was a followup book pertaining to the information on the disk and how it affects the haven...
    Well enjoyed
At times I almost wanted to chuckle at the narrators attempt at a Scottish accent. With that being said, I honestly enjoyed both book and narration.

    WRITE A SERIES - PLEASE
Absolutely enjoyed this audible. I was hooked from start to finish. This would be a great series, let's hope it turns into one. Not a long listen, but story was full, not rushed and detailed. Narrator was great.
    ANOTHER ROBERTS GREAT
This book was enchanting. Even though you know the ending, the middle is so worth hearing to see how they get to the end, from the middle. So to speak. Very good and interesting.
Story and performance moved me the place and time.
If you could sum up The Witching Hour in three words, what would they be?
    Wonderful, moving, romance
What other book might you compare The Witching Hour to and why?
It's hard to compare to other authors because all of Nora Roberts books are great and beyond comparison.
Have you listened to any of Joyce Beans other performances before? How does this one compare?
Not sure but I wish she performed all audio stories.
    The Witching Hour
A fascinating story. A well crafted plot great characters. Nora Roberts scores again. One of the Bears authors writing today.
    Entertaining
Would you listen to The Witching Hour again? Why?
It was a decent read. Not as gripping as some of her other books. A nice short read. The reader's voice kind of bugged me. I don't think I'd read it again.

    Publisher's Summary:
Separated from her son and forced to create a neural implant that will mean the effective enslavement of her psychically gifted race, Ashaya Aleine is the perfect Psy: cool, calm, emotionless... at least on the surface. Inside, shes fighting a desperate battle to save her son and escape the vicious cold of the PsyNet. Yet when escape comes, it leads not to safety but to the lethal danger of a snipers embrace.
DarkRiver sniper Dorian Christensen lost his sister to a Psy killer. Though he lacks the changeling ability to shift into animal form, his leopard lives within. And that leopards rage at the brutal loss is a clawing darkness that hungers for vengeance. Falling for a Psy has never been on Dorians agenda. But charged with protecting Ashaya and her son, he discovers that passion has a way of changing the rules.
    Critic Reviews:
"One of the greatest pleasures of these books is their ability to deliver both an intensely personal love story as well as a riveting societal drama. Singh is on the fast track to becoming a genre giant!" (Romantic Times)

    How does she do it???
Another great Psy-Changeling book by Nalini Singh!! How does she do it?? The series just keeps getting better and better.
    Definitely a credit worthy listen!
    Best new series on Audible!
Dorian and Ashaya were a perfect match in every way! If you're looking for a great paranormal romance series, look no further! This series has the perfect balance of a created paranormal world with the right amount romance (and steamy scenes).
    Formula writing but yummy.
Alright so this book is yummy. Hot alpha-type Dorian (let's face it, if you've made it this far, all the guys are alphas) goes after Ashaya, and you know from the moment you hear "This is Audible" that these two are going to hook up at some point mid-book. This series is formulaic, yes, but that's the point, right? Would you rather her stop at one or two books? When you say "I want more of that!" then this is what you get. Some of the same things.
Yet I will say this for Singh - overall her books do progress with a major storyline that stretches all the way to book 11 and beyond. If anything, stick with it to the next book because Book 6 is my second favorite (to book 3).
    Pleasantly surprised
What was one of the most memorable moments of Hostage to Pleasure?
When Ashaya went to her son's aid. It proved to everyone who had doubted her that she did in deed love her son and would do anything for him.
    Which scene was your favorite?
When Ashaya cut her link to the psy-net and accepted the matting bond. She had complete trust in her mate to catch her and she would do anything to keep him by her side.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes and that is what I did do. It was one of those books that had me hooked form the moment I started. I couldn't put it down.
    Another great story!
What did you love best about Hostage to Pleasure?
These books just keep getting better and better. Things are changing in the Psy-Changeling world. The passion and the love these characters display is what I love the most about them.
