Suspenseful and with lots of action, this book gives a rather different slant on the whole vampire scene and the role of the Harker family. The writing is absorbing and the characters are engaging. It really caught me and kept me reading when I should have been taking care of other things. No sense in giving a synopsis when the publisher's blurb takes care of that. I enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

Kristin James has a real talent for giving the characters definition and life.

This came as Whispersync on the cheap.

Great Paranormal Romance

One of my favorite genre's is paranormal romance. This story drew me in and I had a hard time putting it down. The story was unique and nothing like the typical vampire story.

Edie is a descendent from a line of vampire hunters known as the "Harker". After her sister's death, Edie has to take her place as the Harker.

She is out for revenge to kill the Vampire that killed her sister and infected her. She only has a short time to live and time is running out for her.

Her cousin Carl and Jude are helping her find information she needs. Jude is an unusual vampire that has lost his memory but has strong feelings for Edie. He will do anything to protect her.

The story is well written and I always understood what was going on. There is magic, violence, suspense, drama, romance, and betrayal. I was shocked with the twist at the end. It was not a predictable one and caught me by surprise. It ends with a Cliffhanger that leaves you craving more. I can't wait to read book 2.

Kristin James did an awesome job reading this book. I'll be looking into some more of the stories she has read. Great performance.

I'll be looking out for more books written by Erin Hayes as well. She has created a great world in "Dammned If I Do" and I'm looking forward to reading more of her books.

Thats what she said.

I was excited to find this book. I didn't realize it had been released or that it was even coming and to my surprise it was a Whispersync book so I was able to get it cheaper. I love Sam, she is such a troublemaker and as usual she gets herself into trouble in this book. I laughed at the Supernatural reference and the Nirvana reference. My only problem is I have forgotten some of the details from the other books and now want to reread them all over again. I listen to too many audiobooks to keep them all straight. The narrator is not my favorite, but the more I listen to her the better I like her.

I love these books.

They are laugh out loud hilarious. The writing is funny but it's the narration that sells it.

Great PNR & World Building

I'm going to make this review short and sweet! I love all types of romance, and like to shake things up every once in a while with a good PNR, and Katie Reus has created an interesting world full of all types of shifters, and supernaturals. There's well developed characters, and each book ticks off everything I look for in a good PNR. Steamy Romance.. check, Action.... check, world building.... check, Great Plot ..... check. It's a win win for me. Jeffrey Kafer always does an amazing job with the narration. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

AWESOME SERIES. NARRATOR MAKES IT DOUBLY WELL!

Most enjoyable. Keelin and Bran were well matched. I like Keelin's determination to be independent after so many years of being over protected. Being hunted by a demigod is frightening but with her family and Bran looking out for her it worked out. Very good addition to the series. Katie Reus was excellent in this new SCI/fantasy genre. I hope there will more books to come.

Narrator Rushes It

I don't know if it's just me, but the narrator seemed to rush through the book, like he was in a hurry to finish. It definitely takes away from the listening experience. The story itself was just okay to me. There could have been more to the story. It wasn't terrible, but it felt like the bare bones of a story instead of a fully developed one.

This was a very good story. I liked both Bran and Keelin and enjoyed their story a lot.

Keelinis a dragon shifter and the younger sister of Drake (the hero in book #2). Since Drake went missing when he was a child, Keelin and Drake's parents went very overprotective when it came to her and she had basically no life outside of her home. She even got guilted into a long hybridization with her parents but rose before them, about a year ago. Keelin has enjoyed this new world now that she's risen. She cherishes her new freedom and isn't willing to lose it for anything or anyone.

Bran is a dragon shifter and the alpha of his dragon clan. He is rare when it comes to dragons because he was born with a deformity, an eye that he can't see out of.

Sweet twist on Cinderella

I am the kind of reader who prefers audiobooks. I'd already purchased Swept Away as a kindle e-book, but when I found a review copy available through Audiobook Blast, I jumped at the chance to get the audiobook. So before I start the review, here's my disclaimer:

I was intrigued at the twist in the Cinderella story, and this story did not disappoint. I don't normally read or listen to regency romances, but I looked for familiar elements. I enjoyed how the author mixed them into things (the name of hte shop, the midnight deadline, Duchess Charming, the lone shoe) so that parts were familiar, yet it was its own story. Both main characters are quite likable, and you just root for them to be together despite a few misunderstandings.

One thing about the story that did surprise me was the elements of Christian faith and prayer. This wasn't mentioned in the summary. That can be either a selling point or a turn off depending on the reader. For me, I found it a rather lovely surprise as I am not used to such things in a lot of the romances I read.

I felt that the narrator was quite capable and made the story move along. In some ways, I didn't notice her, but she made it so I could concentrate on the story instead of picking apart the performance.

I recommend this story to people who like fairy tale retellings or short and sweet romances.

Poignent

I dont usually read many books from this genre, but I really enjoyed this one. The narration brought the story to life and held my interest throughout. The story was well thought out, complete and will keep you listening.

S.E Smith creates in the fantastic book. The narrator is great, as you listen to this book you find yourself laughing out loud or smiling. This story is full of humor, love and life lessons. So worth a credit

I laughed, cried, laughed and cried some more. The story was sweet and delightful. The narration was absolutely wonderful!

Seeing Christmas through the youngling's eyes and experiencing the friendships they share, really help give you the feel that there is magic still left in the world.

Iâm a huge fan of this authorâs contemporary romances as Jessica Clare and knew Iâd love this new, paranormal book release by her, Between a Vamp and a Hard Place, as Jessica Sims! This is my first read of this pen name/ author's books and I do love the genre and a good vampire story. I look forward to reading more of her books!

I was so right. I loved this story! Jessica really draws you into a complete story and you canât predict how it is going to go, I love that. Gemma and Lindsey were all each other had. They were bff's all their lives and became treasure hunters, finding antiques and reselling them and barely making it. I love the adventure that they would go on because Gemma invested their whole nest egg in hopes of finding valuables. Well, they found much, much more than that. They found Rand! I LOVED this ancient, swoony hero! I loved the relationship that formed between him and Lindsey. The details kept me turning pages and I found this to be a light, funny, yet serious story of survival with perfect action/ suspense, an epic ending and grand epilogue.

You donât want to miss this handsome Alpha warlord, his plundering ways and how he gets so utterly smitten with his delicious, rare-blooded love, Lindsey. He said heâd never find a woman like her again in a thousand years. Iâm so thankful he was staked for six hundred years so he could be found by her.

Slow start, connection between couple lacking.

I thought that the book started slowly, unsure when Lindsay would meet the hero, and when she meets Rand, it's a little horrifying. Lindsay is an overthinker and she likes to be in control, but when she meets Rand, she throws everything to the wind and decides to help him, for reasons I don't quite understand. I didn't really like Rand when he was introduced, but by the end, I liked him but I felt there were holes in his past and no real explanation for the real reason behind his attraction to Lindsay.

Gemma, Lindsay's best friend, is hilarious, but she jumped in an out of the story too infrequently. Lindsay is strong and capable, yet her actions contradicts her thoughts and she finds herself searching for vampires, when she isn't too sure about the vampire she is helping.

I liked the book, but the other Jessica Sims books are funny and the relationships are stronger than I feel Lindsay and Rand's was.

Good Job

I was fortunate to get the first three books in this series at a time because each one leads into the next. I'm not desperate to get the next one, but I will listen to it if I get the opportunity.

The plot is easy to follow and the characters are well-done. I don't feel like the characters or story needs to be fleshed out or that it drones on. Overall, it has a good pace and the author has plenty of creativity and writing skill. I recommend these books to anyone who likes the paranormal m/m genre. If you can't stand cliff hangers, don't listen to the epilogue unless you have the next one.

Peter Verbena did a great job. Like in the previous books, I could tell the characters apart, the voice was pleasant, and the pacing was good. I look forward to hearing more from this narrator.

Taken ~ By The Warrior Of Hir!

This is a great sci-fi romance with a unique plot! Willow Danes did an outstanding job on world-building, and developing both the plot and characters.

this is the second book in this series. This book has it all. Action and love. I felt like i was on a roller coaster ride. There were ups and downs with the characters. Just when you thought they were getting along fine then down they would go. I felt for each of these characters. Hope felt abandon and felt she always chose the wrong men and had trust issues. Rhar wanted someone to love so bad, he felt he had to tell a little lie in order to spend time with her and to make her care for him. I love the way it ended. i cannot wait till the next book. I will be starting Stolen soon. I recommend this series.

Good second book in sci-fi romance series!

This audiobook involves a story about a woman from Earth taken to be a mate for a warrior on a planet called Hir where they have very few women left after a great infection killed their females. I enjoy this authors style, the story is fast paced and adventurous and the plot is pretty involved. I liked the two,main characters a lot and felt involved in their story. Narration was well performed. Looking forward to book 3!

This story is great and so steamy hot. I love the vampire women and how they learn to take care of each other. Caressa and Noah are so awesome.

Hottt!!!

This was an enjoyable read, and you feel the inner turmoil of the main character, as well as fall for her love interest. If you don't you're broken. He is sweet, sassy, and attractive. The narration adds so much to it! I have never heard such passion in an audio book before I heard these two's dual narration. It is deliciously hottt! Just pick up the story, and get Bitten!

Vamped out

Bitten is up at the top.I love a good vampire story and this one breaks stereotypes and has some steamy scenes.

I like how they get their HEA because that was her biggest fear since past experiences with male vamps proved that she'd never get the HEA she wanted.

Yes I love Kai and Wen and listen to anything they do. And just like others they were amazing

This book was well balanced with the story of the relationships and of being a vampire. It would have been a story even without the vampire aspect and I suspect it's set up for more to come. Overall, an enjoyable and entertaining read/listen. The narrators did a good job.

Decent Plot and Shifter World!

The BillionWere was a decent story with a solid plot, action, and some steamy romance. However, I had a hard time connecting to the characters and really only liked Garrett's character. Malinda's character never grew on me and she kept making stupid mistakes.

Overall, this story was ok but not one I would listen to again. However, in the future, if I notice any of Ellie Valentina's other books coming out in audio, I will strongly consider listening to them, especially if I am able to take advantage of the Kindle Unlimited and whispersync the story. (I've already listened to The Alpha's Unwanted Mate and really enjoyed that story.)

Also, I like this was a complete story with no cliffhangers, and at a little over six hours long, the story could easily be listened to in one day.

As usual, Addison Spear does a great job narrating, and I like how she portrays strong female characters.

In a world where animal spirits merge with random humans to create "shifters," Garrett a billionaire shifter and a single father, hires Malinda Rose to be a live-in nanny for his son Brandon.There is an immediate attractions between Garrett and Malinda but more importantly Brandon likes Malinda and she makes a great nanny for him. Because Garrett harbors life threatening secret's, he must ensure his son is protected at all times and Brandon is never allowed to leave the safety of the mansion.

Malinda slowly learns of Garrett's closely guarded secretes when a werewolf is spotted several times on the mansion's grounds and one of his employee's is suspected of being killed by this werewolf. As things between Garrett and Malinda heat up, she starts to suspect he's the werewolf, until he actually saves her and Brandon from being attacked by this werewolf. Due to the increased confrontations with the werewolf, Garrett eventually confidences in Malinda and tells her the story of the wolves who tried to kill him. During this attack on his life, he defended himself, and as a result, one of the wolves was killed in the process. Now, a lone wolf is out for revenge and will stop at nothing until Garrett loses everything.

In addition to the werewolf attacks, there is a also a trader in Garrett's trusted employment that is out to harm Malinda.
