Bear Hug Anyone?

Overall, this was a decent story and I enjoyed listening it; however, it does start off slowly.

While this is a short story, it's a complete story about Derek and Clarice but ends on a cliffhanger which is setting up for the next book in the series. I think this series would great if all three stories could be combined into audiobook

I thought Patrick did a great job narrating the story and loved his voice. Personally, if it is a romance story, I much rather hear a guy's sexy voice than a girls voice! ;-)

A Scottish bear shifter who bakes!

It's a dirty trick to get the first one free and find yourself compelled to scout out more! Great characters and the plot moves along quickly. Basically, two introverts find immediate attraction and have to work it out. But she's human, and he's a bear shifter who can't believe he's been mated to a human. There is situational humor throughout, and some erotica near the end. I really enjoyed it!

Patrick Blackthorne did a fantastic job as narrator! Glad to have gotten it as Whispersync on the cheap, though.

A Good Story

This was given to me in exchange for an unbiased review via audiobook boom. This was a good story. I liked the way the bears kept to themselves. When the author went to the island in order to finish her book she was inspired by the bear to change the whole story and it turned out better. The borthers were the last of their family and did not have much knowledge about their heritage. He was not sure why his bear had chosen a human as his mate but it did.

I loved the beginning and Bekka's strength but her ignorance and nativity with the villains got old really fast. Overall good but I had to push through a bit because heroine was as annoying a lot of the time.

Almost a full blown C.Feehan book!!

This book has 3 different stories all very good but I bought the book for the Christine Feehan story. Like all of the others I thought this was going to be a short 3-4 hour story. Nope, this was almost a full blown book, I listened at work and it lasted almost my entire work day.

Now the book was great I highly recommend. The other two authors have a great start to some new series and I will be keeping an eye out for future books.

Narration was fine, no issues from me.

A little too far

Christine Feehan goes a little too far with dominance in her lovemaking scenes but I know this. She needs more story and less of licking and sucking.

max bellarman dose a nice job and is easy to listen to. dose not easily trip over pronunciation as happened with miss brush in the shorter version of Darkk Prince.

Exciting Collection

This book is a great collection of stories by wonderful writers. I highly recommend it especially if you are a fan/follower of Christine Feehan's Dark Series. Dark Crime fits right in and continues the series. Fantastic!

Feehan does it again

Feehan writes another brilliant story, she has a way with words. So sexy & a little erotic, just loved it. First time I've heard/read Herter, will look for her again, very sensual story.

What did you love best about Lion and the Falcon?

Another Fab book in Series not Stand alone part of series.

She falcon called in to help F.U,C with the Master mind issue as it grows in troubles with all the others loosened on the city, for a meat grinding mutant shifter human kibbles n bits , plus she might of been bit crude and moody to higher up certain family member

He pampered spoiled pamper only male in his pride group, his mother has unleashed women of pride, 1st to granbaby in arm get him, so he dodges kidnapping kitties, mutant monsters, one demented lil lady that think she can rule world through projects!.

When one of the monsters target the Caregivers because ....tortured minds many reason ahve read find out who and why, bu t boy dos he really go to town on crunch n munchs, making the Bird and Cat work as team, let name calling and feather pulling begin.

what happen to them when they go from two different worlds into one?

Mane raising feather fluffing good Adventure , maybe lil slime or munching here and there yanno how it goes when you a flesh eating creature of science mishaps!!!

Had Me Giggling From Beginning to End

Most definitely. Funny and sexy. Loved Abby Craden doing the different voices, especially Miranda.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Lion and the Falcon?

I rewound the scene where the girls are "kidnapping" Nolan because I just kept laughing.

What does Abby Craden bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

She was fantastic! Kind of a Cate Blanchett voice and she brought the characters to life. Again, love her pitch when she does Miranda and the guys like Nolan and Chase, she deepens it nicely. Clarisse sounds like a tough chick just as her character.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I liked when Nolan's mom admits that he likes Clarisse and he does that double take. She admits that Clarisse is tough and has spunk and would be a great daughter-in-law.

Any additional comments?

I've already picked up the other books in audio even though I've read the series and am looking for more books by the narrator. First time listening her and loved it. I'm a huge fan of Eve Langlais and am looking for more of her audio books to download. She's a laugh riot.

The psychic world includes animals

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definitely recommend this book to any lover of paranormal psychic suspense. There's an interesting suspenseful storyline with likable characters that you easily become invested in. My attention was grabbed from the beginning and kept until the end. This was a great addition to the series and I love that it included animals. The narration was excellent.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Detective Ronin Chandler was my favorite character. Already having his sensibilities strained with acceptance of the psychic world in relation to his brother hes constantly being overwhelmed yet he retains his sense of humor and is steadfast in his determination to help the woman he cares for.

Which scene was your favorite?

I really enjoyed the scenes where Ronin was making friends with Tabitha's animals.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I would have loved to listen to this book all in one sitting but its rather long and life does get in the way. Began the listen on a long drive and then finished it over that evening and the next morning.

Absolutely Horrible Reader....

The voice inflections are all wrong, and ditract you from the story line all together. I honestly couldn't make it to chapter two because it was just so bad. made my teeth itch to hear it. may have been a great book, but I don't know... so I rated it at 3 stars for Story Line.

I wish I had a book like this to read every week!

I love, love, love Nicholas Boulton's narration! I always know when I read one of Laura Kinsales's books the male character is going to be a little bit of troubled soul. it makes for a great plot and Nicholas reads it sooo well!

Tedious

Any additional comments?

The narration is excellent, but to me the book was tedious and too full of angst. I listened to the first ten chapters, then skipped to the last two chapters to find out what happened. That satisfied me and I never went back to read the chapters in between. There are just too many upsetting situations (whipping, torture, brutality, etc) for me and the love story just could not overcome my dread of the upsetting themes. I know PTSD is a problem and is bad, but I don't listen to books to be upset - I want to be entertained. Also, the h/h in this book just did not do much for me. I particularly did not warm up to the Princess. She was too naive and oblivious to reality. Other readers are very high on this book - but it just was not for me.

Seize The Fire!!

Anyone who reads my reviews knows that I love Laura Kinsale's writing and Nicholas Boulton's narration. The perfect combination!

Like LK's other books, 'Seize the Fire' is written with depth and dimension. The hero, Sheridan, is filled with many layers of flaws which I found irresistible. He struggles with nightmares, past tortures, fears, and even hero worship that molds him into a man of mystery and turbulence. The heroine, Princess Olympia, a somewhat spoiled young woman who is forced to learn by hardship. Together they travel on a journey of many twists and turns that proves to be the ultimate adventure of knowledge and love.

Its worth a credit if you enjoy well written - thought provoking - in-depth stories with substance and no fluff. :-)

simply amazing.

i couldn't turn this book off, and wanted to listen to it straight through. I finished it in a few days amid laundry, work and car rides. it was just so wonderful, I couldn't get enough.

another reviewer said that Laura's books are an "automatic download" for her, and i'm really at that place, too. there's no need to read the summary or even skim the reviews, because her writing is just top notch. the characters are so intricate and detailed, that you just feel like they're family.

this is my new kinsale favorite. you will not be disappointed. well worth a credit.

Oh my why wasn't it longer

It is one of the best books of hers; by far the best. Its all the insecurities we feel in every day life plus some ones we don't understand.

I love Melanie Karsak's writing, and this book was wonderful! Ink is a mermaid, and she can dry walk also...she has markings on her back that tell a prophecy of her being the chosen one...Her Uncle is king right now due to some shady happenings and he gives Ink to another tribe with the intention of bringing them together as one, or so she thought...she does not like this...she is not attracted to the king of this tribe...and yearns for the sea....and a mystery man she briefly meets and rescues...This is a great story, and I cant wait for book 1! Highly recommend!!

One of the best mermaid stories I've read

Ink is novella with a surprising amount of substance! At only 3 hours in length ( 124 pages) Melanie Karsak manages to fit in enough of a story that I felt completely fulfilled at the end, though definitely hungry for more!

Its been a long time since my last mermaid book, mostly because like angel books I tend to end up with some sort of issue. But Ink was one that knocked it out of the park and made me wish that this was a series instead of a novella. The story starts off in the literal deep end, with Ink a mermaid as she struggles to find her cousin amid a vessels illegal fishing. Right away I loved her. She is not some pretty woman with a fish tail who sits about and bats her eyelashes at men on boats, her instincts make her want to drag them into the water they are slowly destroying and end them entirely. These are the sort of mermaids I need in my life. And Im happy to say she stays that fearsome and independent, even with the introduction of a possible love interest. I will admit that portion of the story needed a bit more time to get use to, but I didnt feel like it detracted from the enjoyment overall.

These characters are fabulous and I love the way this story has developed. Love the audio versions - I think the narrator does an amazing job with Remy and Sabine... and I can't wait for book three. Book two is a real roller coaster - and I found myself unable to put it down towards the last few chapters. Do yourself a favor and try out Willow Creek...Just when I thought the vampire craze was tapped out - this gave me characters I've cared about more than in any other series.

What did you love best about Haunting?

I love these characters - Beanie and Remy are a fantastic pair and this second installment in the series did NOT disappoint. By the end of it I was on the edge my seat.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Haunting?

The end... I was sooooo stressed out!! Can't wait to read book three.

What does Joel Froomkin bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

Personally I adore his performance. You become really used to his style and his characterizations are nuanced, specific, and full of wit. The way he voices Remy is pretty damn irresistible. After listening to the first two books, I can't imagine a better fit.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The whole thing is kind of a roller coaster... I got really intrigued by how the author was going to resolve the drama.

Give this series a try - you won't be sorry. Stephanie Summers writes great characters, great dialogue and finds a really interesting spin on the vampire lore. Plus there are some super steamy scenes to boot.

Great #2 in the series is a thrilling page turner.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely - I think this series is so enjoyable. I love the characters, love the steamy romance, and love the relationship. Summers is a great storyteller and has created an amazing anti-hero and heroine in this series. The characters have complexity, depth, humor and the climax to the book had me gasping out loud.

What other book might you compare Haunting to and why?

Pretty obviously Twilight... I also loved that series. But I actually think Summers is a more skillful writer and I feel like Remy is a really layered and fascinating character.
