Fun, Entertaining Listen

Would you listen to Secrets of Sunbeams again? Why?

Yes! I love a good story, and there's something about listening to it that gives it an entirely different feel than reading the words themselves.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the exploration into the issues of pride and guilt. I really enjoyed how Comer used her characters to display some of the misconceptions, and misunderstandings that we often face when starting relationships.

Which character as performed by Jae Huff was your favorite?

My favorite character was definitely Eden. I loved how we got to journey with her through the painful process of letting go of the guilt that she held over her family's deaths. I loved that we learned about the process of compromise in a relationship as well.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

There definitely times when I didn't want to turn it off, but overall, it wasn't a cliff-hanger book in my opinion, but one that I enjoyed listening to for the time that I had it.

A wonderful story for an audio book!

I enjoyed this book immensely. The relationships and characters were just the right level of complex and were certainly heart warming. I couldn't imagine how I would such a feisty goat! I loved the building of the romance, it's steady build was perfect for the story setting and I loved the family/friend connections.

A perfect listen for when you are traveling long or short distances or needing some chuckles while cooking!

A lovely new series from a favorite author

What did you love best about Secrets of Sunbeams?

I was so sad when I heard that Valerie Comer was wrapping up her Farm Fresh Romance series so it was a great relief to hear that she had an urban spin-off series in the works! And this first installment, Secrets of Sunbeams, did not disappoint! Comer managed just the right balance of creating a new community for this series while giving her fans a few peeks into the lives of the characters we've come to love from the old one.

I enjoyed getting to know Jacob, the compulsively tidy little brother of two of the characters from the Farm Fresh series, and Eden, his next-door neighbor with her own little backyard farm in the city. The two of them have lots of hurdles to overcome in their relationship as they have very different ideas of how they want to live.

exceptional book

loved the story. simple progression of growth and love and faith. hoping there is a continuation, next chapter in the life of Mandy.

The book was ok but not as good as other books by this author. The beginning was kind of "Hoaky". If you miss a cruise ship in Hawaiian Islands, I would think a plane could take you to the next port of call. Just sayin..... not enough reality in this novel

I Thoroughly Enjoyed this Book!!

I felt a plethora of emotions while listening to this book. Common questions such as: "how!? Why!? Come on, for real!?!?!" Oh and there were some "duhs" thrown in there as well. However, in the end, I marvel at how this could easily be anyone's story if we don't allow God to lead in our lives.

The plot was thorough and complete. The characters developed in intriguing ways from start to finish. There were times I was annoyed at them, sad with them, scared for them, and laughing at/with them. What a roller-coaster! Lol

Wonderful novel that I recommend to anyone! It's real and tasteful. The narration was fine. The improvements I would recommend is for there to be clearer differences between minor characters. The only thing I wish for the story is for it to have continued a bit longer.

Narrators Make or Break

Having three narrators hurt the book. The plot is good. The characters struggling through real life problems are engaging. The love triangle is believable and kept me reading. But one narrator made me want to turn the audio book off totally. The shrill high female voice really irritated me. Even with two it was difficult to keep the characters straight because the voice was so different . If you can get past that problem, you'll enjoy Love's Providence.

Loved it!

The team of Anne Patrick and Leonor A. Woodworth did it again! Ms. Patrick writes another romance novel with Christian values, showing that God still answers prayers in His own way and in His own time. Her characters are real and well rounded, getting the reader involved in their lives. As narrator, Ms. Woodworth does an amazing job, giving the reader all of the emotions of the characters. I look forward to more from both of them.

Enjoyable Story Of Faith

This is the second book I've listened to by this author and I'm now positive it won't be my last. . Anne Patrick has a wonderful way of balancing an intricate story with just enough Christian values to feel genuine and not forced.

This book is a delightful mix of romance with bits of mystery and suspense. The characters are believable and are not portrayed as perfect yet it shows how everything happens in God's timing. It's a story that is sad, sweet, inspirational, and uplifting.

The narrator does a wonderful job with A.P's books. Her reading truly complimented the story.

Although I would have used a credit for this... I would like to thank the author, narrator, or publisher for providing me this audiobook at no cost in exchange for my unbiased review.

Just the Right Mix

For me this book had it all. Romance, suspense, mystery without swearing and explicit sex scenes. The inclusion of faith was also an element that I liked. Narrator did an outstanding performance. I will definitely be reading more from this author.

Beautiful

I got this ARC via audiobook boom. This was a strong story of love, forgiveness, and hope. Each character displayed Gods love in such a good manner. The love story was told without sex or explicit language but was told very well. The narrator made the story come alive. The suspense was just enough to keep you listening. Worth a credit.

I really like Wanda Brunstetter

The story is interesting. The problem is after waiting a month for this to come out, I forgot some of the last book's happenings. I really like Wanda Brunstetter, but will not purchase these books in increments after this series. I read them in about an hour and then have to wait another month for the next one to come out. Very frustrating and also much more expensive that purchasing an entire book.

Conceited Joel

The will is finally found in a most unusual setting.

The reading of the will was pronounced, and the disbursement has yet to be given.

Joel has been requested to make changes in his life and willing to do selfless actions toward others. This would be way out of his territory.

They have done it again

I can't. Wait till part 6. Wanda has continued to tell a wonderful story in a great way. This is such a real story you can't wait to see what comes next. Wanda and Jean......keep them coming.

Super story

These are great stories and will be glad when the next edition comes out. The authors have done a very nice job and I think most readers of Amish fiction will enjoy these stories.

Good Storyline.

Good storyline but dragged more than I would like to continually hold my attention. I do look forward to part 6 for conclusion.

Not long enough

I like the story line and always enjoy their books, I'm just disappointed it was broken up into a series.

I enjoyed this book as well as the other 5 parts of the story, The Amish Millionaire. I'm not sure I really like the concept of publishing one story in six different books or sections, however. The total series was hardly more than one ordinary paperback This is the first time I have seen this done, but I gather that it is a new idea in the publishing industry.

The threads of life!

I love this series of books, I just wish they were all together to purchase as one instead of several. Once again I could not stop reading. The path of lives on the up and down in each one's part as a family shows their concerns, feelings of losing a loved one plus going on as they share their stories both happy and sad moments.

Gripping Story

Where does Dandelions for Dinner rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

Out of 10, this book ranks a solid 8. I love this story, it's one of my favorites of Comer's, but the narrator's style of reading took some getting used to for me. Not bad, just a bit over pronounced.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dandelions for Dinner?

I loved the themes of grace, forgiveness, and the tension of broken trust that ran through this book. In a lot of ways, Comer really hit hard on some issues that many people face, and have to deal with. I love the way that she portrayed the characters' journeys of growth and healing as they faced the consequences of their past actions.

What about Becky Doughtys performance did you like?

I liked how she did different voices for each character and was able to keep them straight throughout her entire performance. Her reading was clear and easy to follow.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

When the past haunts you, and you feel beaten from all sides, what do you turn to? Or rather Who?

I love this series

This is the best one yet in the Farm Fresh series. They just keep getting better. I can't wait to listen to the rest of the books. Please make the others available on audible quickly.

I find it rare for a series to get better and better, but this one is doing just that. I thought this was the best book in the Farm Fresh Romance series yet! I was a little leery going into it as I wasn't sure about adding to the original three female characters, but the author made it work and more. I love how these books are not only sweet romances but contain themes of sustainable and simple living as well as growing in Christ. This one deals extensively and really well with themes of forgiveness and redemption. I also really like the author's explorations of what it means to live in community. I highly recommend this series and this book!

Sweet Amish Story

Another great story by author. loved the characters and the narrator. Hope there's more to come

twists and turns kept me so interested in the plot

I was fascinated with this story and the unfolding of the medical mystery of the her son's illness and the unexpected love story, it all kept me on my toes!!

Am not a big fan of the story line

Always enjoy Amish books, but I didn't care for the child welfare investigation story that ran through almost this whole book. The male character and his story sounded a bit unbelievable and Battle Creek is not north of the bridge in Michigan either. All and all not a complete waste of time, I stitch when I listen to audio books and it was interesting enough for that combo to continue through, but had I been driving I wouldn't have listened through the whole book.
