A touching read

Ms McCoy did a phenomenal job in the Christmas Beau as it really gave a glimpse of what it truly means to forgive and be forgiven. This throwback for me was definitely hitting home for me as it reminded me of the bond I share with my daughters. It also reminded me how important it is to allow the same God who worked out my life, do the same in my daughters lives. I would definitely recommend any young woman who felt sheâd lost the love of her life to read this book. Also, any mother struggling with issues concerning her daughter or her desires verses her childâs desires.

I gave this book 5 stars because it truly reveal and then explained what Christmas (not Xmas) is all about; the love, birthday, and celebration of Jesus Christ! Be blessed and know itâs worth your time and money

An Awesome Love Story

I loved this story. Although it was a love story, it also told the story of true forgiveness and what it looks like in the life of a believer. So happy for Milton & Charity's second chance at love.

A Christmas Beau

Great story of forgiveness. Charity had broken a vow. Melton had not yet become a man. Margaret tried to help her child but chose the wrong path. It's Christmas time. Time to truly be like Christ. I really enjoyed the story and the supporting characters. There were a few side stories. The story was not rushed and the HEAs we're resolved and plentiful. 4.5 stars...just because I wanted a wedding.

Cute Christ-centered Christmas love story

I enjoyed the book and will look for future works from the author. I think since the book is a "novella" the story felt a bit rushed with minimal character development. But I think the author still told a classic love story that boasted of forgiveness and trust.

I loved how the author used 1 John 4:18 as a part of describing how Charity felt. "There is no fear in love" took on a whole new meaning when it was applied in the context of a relationship between a man and woman. If this is the true love God has for you, you have nothing to fear, you should be able to trust them freely and not be afraid of getting hurt since "perfect love casts out all fear." What a great concept!

Wonderful Gift

Oh dear

Such a poorly written story and so unrealistic. And the narrator was really tough to listen to. Only reason I bothered to finish it was because I had nothing else to listen to on my drive today.

What an inspiring story of how God is always there

Rosebelle and Amos were from two different world but love brought them together. It's what's inside of a person that matter not what you look like.

I loved the story as it unfolded. Right from the beginning, I felt as if I were right there with Rosabelle and Amos. There are lessons to be learned if you truly listen to the story.

Rosabelle was my favorite character. She did not judge Amos because of his looks but how her heart felt.

I thought Jae was wonderful. She told the story brillantly. I could listen to her everyday.

very good

A fast read that leaves you thinking! Is it 1868 or 2015?

This book arrived via Kindle today and was worth the wait. Although written about 1868, it was so relevant in light of all that is happening recently in our country. Emily, the protagonist, illustrated the conflicted emotions that we feel when trying to please others and yet be faithful to a higher calling. Loved how this short story turned out, suspense with romance! Elizabeth Musser is my favorite author yet again!

Heartwarming Catholic Romance

What a joy it has been to read an inspirational romance that included the beauty of the Catholic faith in its characters! Other inspirational romances that I have read previously were always Protestant, and they left me wishing that the couple could have brought to their relationship the graces of the Mass, the sacraments, the saints, and the teachings of the Church, in addition to prayer and the Bible. In this story, it was truly inspirational to experience the Catholic faith of Agnes and Seth in action!

What does Angela Grayden bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

Angela Grayden's versatile voices make the characters come alive--both the "good guys" and the "bad guys."

I was initially attracted to this book because I am Catholic, because I enjoy inspiration romances, and because Gerri Bauer is a local author. Once I discovered that it was available as an audiobook, I was sold. I found this audiobook to be both delightful and uplifting, and I'm sure you will, too!

Unique, funny, and warm

I loved this and was sorry to finish it. I loved the quirky characters who were so much more real than those painted larger than life in other books. Boundaries in relationships are of particular interest to me, and in this book Juliette struggles realistically and, I believe, in a healthy way with the boundaries in her close-knit group of sisters. The timeline in this book is long enough for the personal growth she experiences to feel real, deep and true. And her love interest is also a three-dimensional man who grows in the course of the book.

A word about the relationship between the Gustafson Girls. In many books, familial relationships are so sweet and warm that those of us who grew up in dysfunctional homes find them distressing. When you grow up without healthy family relationships and then read about families that always love each other, always are patient with each other, aways support each other--as appear in too many contemporary romance series--you come away, or at least I come away, feelling like a real loser for having grown up in a family without any of those characteristics. For having flubbed relationships myself, for not having been able to imagine such perfection and create it in my own life.

Another wonderful work of art written by JEB Spredemann. I was sorry to hear it end. I'm curious how Cindy (Ella) and Nathaniel's lives turned out after they were married.

A wonderful Amish remake

If you could sum up Cindy's Story in three words, what would they be?

Happy, sweet, Clean read!

Cindy's Story is a "Fairly Tale" story by J.E.B. Spredemann. It is the second of her Fairly Tales that I have read. Actually because this was an Audible edition, I was able to listen to it while doing other things as the narration played on my Iphone. The narrator was Julie Lancelot who did a good job of interpreting the different characters, making each of them more unique.

This story is about an Amish girl who at a young age has lost both her biological parents and is raised by a step-mother along with two step sisters. It is a Cinderella story with an Amish twist. Because she has been treated unfairly by her step-mother, she has problems which need to be overcome. And as she meets her prince charming, she finds out about his hard to forgive past.

This is a nice and sweet story and was fun to listen to. I enjoyed listening to this as well as the other books by these same authors. The author shares some scriptural references which bring the story points together. Forgiveness and love are strong themes here. This is a good read for young ladies/

Tierna historia de amor

Excelente historia. Vemos como un duendo que trabaja para Santa cambia su forma de ser con la llegada de una chica que gana un concurso y el premio es visitar el polo norte. Aunque es muy corta la novela encierra mucho en su contenido ya que Garrett supera su trauma de la niñez y por fin le abre el corazón al amor..gracias a la ayuda de Angelique

Dulce, tierna, romántica...

Esta es una historia sencilla, de esas que te hacen sentir bien. Garrett es un hombre enamorado de su vida parca y predecible. Angelique es hermosa y vivaz. Cuando ambos se conocen en el Polo Norte, la vida de Garrett se transforma. Una dulce historia de amor navideña! Me gustó, la recomiendo a los amantes de las historias tiernas :)

Great Sweet Romance-A Nice Break From Contemporary

Birdie left the Amish community and is enjoying her life with the English world. however, all of this must be put on hold when she learned that her mother is gravely injured in a buggy versus auto crash. It's the same buggy carrying the young man with a promising career as black smith. Unfortunately, the young man succumbed to his critical injury and passed away.

The second Birdie gets home, she learned that her father told everyone that she was away visiting relatives. A terrible lie, especially coming from the Deacon church. At the hospital her father tells her mother that Birdie had rejoined the church. Just to give Birdie's mother the strength and hope she needs to recover as best she can.

The Amish town is without a blacksmith now they put the word out that one was needed. All the way up in Ontario is a young man, named Caleb, who is a great blacksmith. But he is has been in the same community from birth until now. He thinks that it would be a good change for him and an asset to the community (Birdie's community) so he puts out the effort and get a job.

Birdie and Caleb begin talking to one another and the story begins...

This is a clever little book and my only complaint is that I wish it were long. The ending of the book especially.

The narration was good or near perfect. Great job telling me the story and allowing me to watch it in my mind without distraction. Very few narrators have that ability. Good job by Julie Lancelot.

Note: This is a lovely and interesting book about an Amish relationship.

I would not hesitate to recommend this book to any of my friends. *I was given this book in exchange for my review.

Pleasant story, but miscasted narrator...

The story was lovely and as predictable as most Amish novels, of which, I must admit, I am an addict. (A touch of serenity in a hectic world.) My only problem is that the selection of a reader was very poor. I find it very disconcerting when the main character is in their early twenties, but the narrator is obviously much, much older. She is a fine narrator, but it would be somewhat like casting Dame Maggie Smith to play Elizabeth Bennet in a movie production of Pride and Prejudice. No matter how good she is, this just doesn't work. This 'miscasting' took away from my enjoyment of the story quite a bit.
