Good book, didn't want to put it down.

The reading was good, change in voices was also good.

hilarious narrator with such a great story.

enjoyed listening to this and can't wait to see what else the author writes. highly recommend for a gunslinging good time.

Gunslinger Girl

Fun story! Plenty of twists and turns to keep it interesting. The narrators voice was a bit too little girl for me, and she placed her emphasis oddly in the sentences too often for my taste. Seems to be a good setup for a series, and I hope to hear more from Pity Jones and her friends.

I don't like James Patterson

I never write reviews, but I don't like James Patterson and I don't care for this book. I thought I would give this one a chance in spite of Patterson. The character is weak and the story suffers because of it. The narrater was ok.

This audiobook is so good youll want to cyberstalk the author, Holly Black, for excerpts and release information for the sequel. The performance by the narrator is stellar. Caitlin Kellys has epic range. Her character voices are vivid and magical.

The novel has:

Insanely creative world building.

Stoic, strong, believable lead heroine and a cast of characters worthy of a Lewis Carroll novel.

Wicked plot twists that will have you dancing around the room while biting your nails.

When the last line is read, youll gasp, and then laugh like a drunkard in anticipation of the day you can read the sequel.

Do yourself a favor and get The Cruel Prince by Holly Black.

Out of 91 books that Ive read or listened to THE CRUEL PRINCE is the Best freaking book I've read in the past 365 days!

The last 3 months I've been in Fantasy Book Hell. I couldn't find a GREAT book. I had okay and not too bad. But nothing knocked me off my feet.

And then, I came upon this one. Goodness I feel revived! After that ending I have chills. I hate reading new books because im such an impatient listener. In my excitement I guess I can tell you alittle about the book.

The book evolves around the lives of three sisters. The oldest, Vivi, who is the only real Fae. The other two, Taryn and Jude, are twins and also regular humans. One thing I found interesting is that the story is told by one of the mortal twins, Jude, instead of Vivi.

Vivi is actually more of a backdrop. She has a few scenes here and there, but her story line doesn't affect the story much. The real drama is with the twins.

Unrequited love sucks !!

I know I gave this book a very low rating but it doesn't have to do with anything about the writing or the story .. it is just me and my feeling toward the issue presented in the story .. I absolutely HATED Cooper, he was ticking on my nerves the entire book and I really wanted someone else to make an appearance to save Abby from this hell .. I love Kasie West writing style and she have that ability to make memorable moments that you remember even after you finish the book .. I say she handled the issue of unrequited love in a very accurate and realistic way but I was so frustrated through out the book, I liked the relationship between Abby and her family and her sarcastic nature, she was a very good protagonist, you can read it if you like but prepare yourself for an emotional roller coaster

The narration was nice enough .. not much variety of voices but it was fine and I can see a room for improvement

This book is absolutely incredible but yet reminder how things have changed and yet stayed the same. This is my 2nd book with Dion Graham as the narrator. He does such amazing. He makes it feel more like a movie then listening to a book.

I hate to call it a trigger warning, but-

John Green is, as always, an excellent writer, and this performance is really good at 1.25 speed (at just normal speed it was a little flat in places, but that might just be me). However, if you actually HAVE anxiety, be prepared to take this book slowly. Maybe some people it won't affect, but I had to take regular breaks or risk having a panic attack of my own. Aza's spirals felt very real and very tangible and too, too familiar.

Heart wrenching

Not only does John Green deliver his usual beautifully crafted cry fest, but as a person with a mental illness, this stuck a chord deep within me. It provides a voice to the very abstract in a wonderfully accurate and complex manner that is very hard to find.

I'm not usually a fan of audiobooks, as I prefer pacing the story according to my emotional responses, but Kate Rudd delivers an entrancing performance that I was unable to stop listening to for longer than 10 minutes, even though I got this book way too late in the day for it to be appropriate to consume it in one sitting. It's 1:47 am on the 11/10/17 as I type this. That's how good this is.

Another great John Green book

As always, John Green has delivered a wonderful read. I finished it in one day. Kate Rudd is a great narrator as well, giving the already lively book a brilliant performance. Im sure this is a book Ill revisit often.

Narrator's delivery distracted throughout

As someone with both first-hand and family experience of OCD, I found John Green's depiction of his main character's mental struggles disturbingly familiar. I wish Green hadn't written Aza Holmes as already seeing a therapist and in possession of prescribed medication, because Aza's resistance to taking her meds makes her anxieties not just a curse, but also a choice. For too many OCD sufferers, particularly young ones, diagnosis and medication remain months or years away.

As usual, Green has the YA mindset down pat. I admire his deft hand in creating adolescent characters: they're silly and insecure one moment, dramatic and self-importantly profound the next.

Unfortunately, Kate Rudd's narration robbed this book of being a four or five star read for me. Though she's clearly capable of reading with feeling, she has an annoying verbal tic of over-pronouncing words, particularly "to" (whether used with infinitive verbs--to go, to think, to eat, etc.--or as a preposition). It sounds choppy and halting, as if the text is being read by a first grader picking her way through a sentence, and it consistently threw me out of the story.

Surprisingly small amount of actual turtles.

An amazing insight to the life of someone with mental illness. Wonderful! Kept me hooked! Listened as much as I could! Great narration, incredible story.

Move Over John Green

Cue the ugly crying. I first got my hands on this book a month or so ago, and it has continued to stay with me. I was unprepared for the onslaught of tears as I made my way through Jared Recks debut novel. Reck is a mega-talent: he had me going from crying to laughing within seconds, and it felt like the most natural progression in the world. As a real-life high school teacher, Reck captures the voice of the characters with such commanding authenticity. Its so easy to relate to the protagonist Matt, particularly in his most cringe-worthy moments. Narrator Mike Chamberlain is definitely best known for his nonfiction work, but his youthful tone - that at times borders on teenage apathy - lends itself nicely to this production. I have high hopes for this one I cant wait to see what other listeners think, and I cant wait to see what Reck does next."

There are more complicated and universal emotions dealt with in this engaging novel about teen-aged love, and I enjoyed it quite a lot!

Wow didn't see it coming. Slow start thinking I wouldn't finish the book. The I couldn't stop.

Great book

I have read this book several times, its one of my favorites. I decided that it would be nice to listen instead, close my eyes and let it play for me. It was a great decision!

I thoroughly enjoyed his voice narrating the story and I felt as if he put the enthusiasm and sadness in just the right places. Very well performed in my opinion.

Yet another teen book about sex

Would you try another book from Stephen Chbosky and/or Noah Galvin?

Probably not. This did not meet my expectations, and I really think this was a waste of time for me. I've had enough of the confusion in my teen.

While this book may be suitable for young adults, I fear mature audience will not find much in this book apart from inconstant teen thoughts of sex, and indie music choices from the 90s. While this brings some memories from my teen years, those ended long ago and I'm not sure that I miss those days. The book chooses to focus on insignificant things such as sex and teen romance, while neglecting far more interesting issues such as mental illness and depression. If you're over 16, don't bother.

Tear jerker Performance

The tale is a beautiful story of connection and giving life a second chance. It meets all the requisites of a great narration, subtle ruses and emotionally inclined.

I think Julie Buxbaum will be on the list of my favorite authors .. I really adored this book to no end and I devoured every word that I couldn't put it down until I finished it .. ahh it feels so good to read such a great book

David is amazing both in representation and in character and I really felt for him and loved him so much .. Kit is a nice person too and both of them has a great dynamic together, most recommended if you want a story about facing yourself and what it means to be you :))

The Narration was AMAZING both of them did a great job to bring the story to life, amazing work, totally worth the credit :D

Raw Reality!

In this world in all societies, there are givers and takers whether you are on Wall St. or you are in some inner city ghetto. Human nature is so heavily influenced by our surroundings that once engulfed it is so hard to get out and make significant changes. The reality of this book is that it takes tremendous courage to stand for who you are and what you believe when there is so much pressure around you to go with the flow. I thought Angie Thomas did a brilliant job of highlighting the day to day courage required by all of us in embracing race, society, and local community to create a peaceful world. Love needs to connect with the color of our blood regardless of the color of our skin.

What a story!

I'm not normally into YA, but I don't know if you would categorize this book as such, and you definitely couldn't pigeonhole into that one genre. It is something of an allegorical tale about the black lives matter movement, and racist police brutality.

But it's not just a diatribe about what is wrong with the world, and the way things should be. That's where Angie Thomas shines, she doesn't sacrifice her story or sense of character development to send a message.
