Just how much of herself should she expose for her job? What will she do about the two men she loves? And could those demons from her past vanish already? Penned by a bestselling author and former DJ (
The Rock and Roll Madame when her show followed Howard Stern's on New York City's K-ROCK), get ready for an uncensored and hilarious backstage pass to one woman's treacherous rise to the radio top. Critic Reviews:
"Grabs you on the first page and keeps the intrigue high. A rockin' radio riot that reveals everything." (Paul Shaffer, Musical Director, Late Show with David Letterman)
"Our industry is complicated, fun, and sometimes downright corrupt!
Naked DJ dares to expose what happens off the air." (Delilah, syndicated nighttime radio host)
"Don't let the title fool you. This isn't an X-rated book. It's about a woman on a difficult and complicated path to understanding who she is and balancing her career with her personal life. Her story will stick with you long after you've finished reading it. If you read Jo's memoir
When I Married My Mother, you discovered bits and pieces about her radio career. When you read
Naked DJ you'll know that these stories must have happened in one form or another you just can't make this stuff up." (Mary June Rose, former program director WGN/Chicago)

"NO CHARACTER IS BASED SOLELY ON A PARTICULAR INDIVIDUAL"
âNaked DJâ is the best novel Iâve ever read in my lifeâ.well in the past two evenings anyway. You get sex, drugs, rock & rollâ.radio, voice over commercial auditions, Penthouse photo shoots and more.
Itâs a story about a woman in the big time radio business written by one of the greatest broadcastersâwho just happened to be a womanâof all time, âThe Rock and Roll Madameâ, Jo Meader. She lived it, survived it, and wrote about it.
When I was on the air in NY in the 80âs I was told thatââIf what you say isnât as interesting or entertaining as the next tune you are about to playâplay the record!â In this tome the author writes âRule Number One! Never learn the music! People tune in for what you have to say, not what you have to play.â This is inside stuff boys and girls. If you are thinking of a career as a DJ, especially if you are a female, this âwork of fictionâ is a must read. Or you can simply take this reviewers advice and just donât, learn air conditioning maintenance or something profitable.
By the way the writing is delicious, so good I that I felt like eating the book. In fact now that Iâve read it I just might eat it. Strange? Well I, like the author, am a former DJ. Good work Madameâ.rock/write on!
Do you remember rock and roll radio? Naked DJ does!
