The hilarious sequel to the Siam Storm adventure.
This time, Stu and Spock team up with Pon to recover the once-again stolen the holy relic, though this time its disappeared for an even stranger and more astonishing reason. The pursuit takes them to Cambodia, where they need to thwart plans that have the potential to change the human race, and turn Spock and Stu into fruit-based drinkers.

a surprising chuckle here and there
This is the second in the trilogy, and I would advise that the first book in the series is considered before diving into this offering. It will give more context and you will understand the characters a little better - particularly why Nick is so twitchy whenever he sees the other two Englishmen. Again, as in my previous review I would warn those not from the UK you will encounter various terms describing the different degrees of drunkenness. You will get used to them I promise.
This book continues with the holy relic being switched instead of stolen, as was the case in the first book. The reason is one I would never have thought of, and I will not spoil the storyline, but suffice to say it is a case of ancient belief meets futuristic science. Really interesting idea, except it doesn't go totally to plan. Again, you need to read the first book to understand the relevance of this. Otherwise you will be left scratching your head as to why the tooth is not as it it seems.
This story is set more in Cambodia as opposed to Thailand, and again we get a real sense of genuine insight into the culture and society/townships. This does help the reader feel part of what is going on. There are some nice new overlaps for us to enjoy and a nice wee love story as well. Quite a few genres are here really: mystery, adventure, humour, sci-fi and a tiny dose of romance. The humour is understated but does make you smile. My light bulb moment when I realised how Nick appeared dead in a well with teeth intact made me chortle out loud. And I would love to see a monk with a bad 'Elvis' hair day in real life :)
Again, there are a few typo's and issues with grammar but not the worst book I have read with these issues, so it does not impact on my enjoyment of the story. If the author does release future editions or does decide to edit these, it may be worthwhile. I know some readers are a little particular on this, but honestly - they are not numerous.
Overall another enjoyable read. I am wondering where the 3rd book will go, and if it will be a step too far. This almost felt like it could end with just the two books in the series. Nice tie up of ends, but will be open minded as and when get round to reading it. :)
