It sounds like she's reading in a loud (and slow) whisper. It's one of those voices that I found distracting enough to repeatedly lose the thread of the story progression

Distractingly narrated

This book started out so so so slow. I almost couldn't keep myself from being distracted by the narrator. I don't know if it was her or the bland plot or the the combination, but this book was almost a waste of my time. MADDIE - I have a personal dislike for characters who ignore it when EVERYONE tells them theyre attractive. Theres a difference between She dont know shes beautiful and willful stupidity.

LUKE - there is just no excuse for his not sitting his girlfriend down and kindly letting her know it was over.

Stalking and killing were the weirdos' m o . He got the best come-uppance that anyone could hope for........his own death.

A Thrilling Romantic Suspense

This was an engaging read about a young woman on the run from an obsessed stalker and serial killer. This story started out really good and held my interest throughout. It's the first book I've read by Ms. Perini and I've already gotten "Finding her Son" which is the story about Noah's brother and sister-in-law who make a couple of brief appearances in this one. The characters were great, especially Noah whom I loved, but also his fellow CTC operatives and friends, Rafe and Zane. Sure would love to see all the men from this elite organization get their own stories too! Even the villain was well-developed and creepy to say the least. I enjoyed seeing things from his brilliant but twisted and chilling point of view. The suspense held me in a tight grip and had me constantly on edge. The romance did take a while to get going but I loved the ending and the things Lyssa says to Noah were beautiful and heartfelt. I didn't like the fact that she never revealed the secret she was hiding from Noah willingly, a secret I figured out early on, but that was a minor issue for me. Overall it was an enjoyable and well-written romantic suspense and I'll gladly read more by this author in the future.

I really enjoyed this book. Lyssa sucked me right into this story. She was hiding, and running from a madman, or shall I say a serial killer. After Archimedes killed Lyssa's husband, she went into witsec. Archimedes always found her. He was playing a very sick game. He wanted Lyssa, and was obsessed with her. When Lyssa's husband had been killed, she heard Arcimedes's voice but never saw his face. How can you hide from a person you've never seen? In every crowd she wondered if he was there watching her. Noah and a team of trained agents came to protect Lyssa. She didnt want anyone else to die, so she wanted to make herself bait. She wanted to run away from the agents that was sent to protect her. Noah was not going to let her leave his protection. I loved the friendship, and romance between the two.

What a great book! I love the sense of humor!

I loved listening to this audiobook. It was much better than I expected. I already got the kindle version for book 2 because I did not want to have to wait for the audiobook to come out. Although, I'll be getting it when it comes out as well.

I don't usually ready mysteries but I'm so glad I made an exception! It has enough romance to keep me satisfied! I could not help cracking up a several times. My family probably thought I was loosing it! Lol

Andromeda helps the police department in finding missing people. She has a special ability to find things & people since she got struck by lightning when she was a teen.

Nick is a new detective and at first a total jerk to Andromeda. He pays for some of his mistakes dearly though. Andromeda and him start working in a case of missing kids that ends up being much bigger than expected.

This book was well written and fun to ready. I'm looking forward to reading more books from this author.

Come for the suspense, stay for the fun!

REEEALLY loved this one! Finished it in an indecent amount of time. Andromeda is struck by lightning at nearly 17 and in a coma for a month, wakes up with paranormal abilities and no awfulness. Now nurses, just suspend your disbelief that there were no other problems and enjoy the fantasy like other folks. Including the part where she works with the local LEOs for the next 10 years as a paid consultant. Most of her family is a bit off, and she does have a true best friend. Romance comes in the form of a hunky detective who is new to her and her narcoleptic cat, but the suspense is right out of the daily news. Tons of situational humor to have you snorting your coffee, and some of the one-liners are priceless.

Holly Adams is such a great fit here, and really nails the performance!

Amazing!!

Disclosure: This book was generously provided to me by the Author in Audible format in exchange for an honest review. Of which I will try to do my best.

I was assured that this book was a 'clean read' but still romantic with a mystery. This I found very intriguing as you don't find many such books. I love my mysteries but put up with the explicit scenes. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was well written, though much too short for my liking. Usually I'm left wanting more after reading such a short book. But with this new series Linda Weaver managed to pull off the following. The mystery of the missing person that they try to uncover slowing, the slow and gradual growing understanding and appreciation of Amelia and Rick and the growing romance between William and his lady friend. All of which seem to happen simultaneously, as they follow William's diary. You've the MIB bad guys following them and the beautiful Bali island that is described in such a way that you can picture the scenery in your minds eye. I also enjoyed the Bucket list that Rick convinced Amelia on starting. I definitely have added Bali to my Bucket List!!

I can't wait to be able to read more of the Amelia Moore titles, I've noticed that they are available on Kindle but not yet on Audible. I think I'll wait for the Audible versions to come out as I really enjoyed Diane Lehman's narration. She's got a beautiful voice and I'll surely be looking for more titles by her.

slightly romantic cozy mystery

What did you love best about The Bali Mystery?

I loved the relationship between the two detectives Amelia and Rick. I think they work great together and their attraction is strong and written well.

What did you like best about this story?

I like that it was nice and light. There was no major crime scene and didn't make want to stop reading it. In fact, it was so pleasant and fun, I didn't want to stop reading it.

Which character as performed by Diane Lehman was your favorite?

Rick was my favorite character. He had so much personality and reminds me of just a grown boy. I love his bucket list, who doesn't have one right?

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I could definitely listen to this in one sitting if I had the time. It was fast and sweet.

Excellent book

I really enjoyed this book. I got a trip to Bali along with our stars Amelia and Rick. I loved how Linda Weaver Clarke basically gave a lesson in Bali culture, history, and also a description of many of the landmarks Bali is famous for.

A good read if not a bit oversold...

We've probably all had friends or family rave about a movie they saw or a book they've read only to have it come up a wee short when we get around to experiencing it ourselves. I thought this book about a new strain of Malaria originating in Zaire with the potential to reek dire global havoc an entertaining enough story that seemed plausible as well. Book had your customary set of characters including a kidnapped scientist (Erica) a love interest to rescue her (Max) and an evil murderer (of course) that together provided several twists leading toward a satisfying (if not predictable) conclusion. While I can't say the book moved me like one from my favorite authors such as "James Patterson" or "Lee Child" it still read quickly and for that reason I found it worthwhile.

Take a chance!

I admit, I wasn't sure about this book when I started reading. But I ended up loving this book! I'm not generally a fan of flashbacks because they usually feel like they're thrown in purely to avoid going back and adding to the beginning of the story. But the journal entry flashbacks work so well in this story! There's a ton of important information included in those flashbacks and it just wouldn't be right to put all of it early in the book. There is so much that feels random when you're reading but is so vital later in the book. Take a chance and read the book.

Read Bite-It Is Amazing!

Bite is a fine book, and truly gripping from its opening that sets the scene for the fascinating and suspenseful story to come! It is a book that bears reading more than once, because it is so filled with plot twists that are entirely believable because the writing is so based on research and on plausible yet horrifying possibilities.

You cannot get a better read than this!

Disappointing

All the advertising hype about it being "The most gripping thriller you will ever read" is way overblown. The plot is OK, but even during the parts where the reader should be totally engrossed, I found myself rather bored. It moves terribly slow. A book worth reading, but definitely not exciting.

Interesting/Suspenseful

I enjoyed this book because of the different, but connected story lines. It has a surprising ending and keeps you interested chapter after chapter. Very detailed description of places and people...
